  1. You can witness different life cycles of animals like frogs, toads, salamanders, beetles, butterflies and many more by just exploring your own backyard or nearby ponds and shrubby areas.
  2.
  3. These animals have different life stages where their physical form changes over certain periods of time. Some changes are so elaborate that their first stage may even be so different compared to their second or last stages that we wouldn’t even be able to distinguish them to be the same animal. Just like certain Pokemons. And that’s basically the exciting thing about Pokemon that draws people to play the game.
  4.
  5. These amazing transformations in the animal kingdom are mostly common in amphibians like frogs, toads, salamanders, and newts. It’s also common in insects like butterflies.
  6. The transformation is commonly called metamorphosis.
  7. “Metamorphosis is a biological process by which an animal physically develops after birth or hatching, involving a conspicuous and relatively abrupt change in the animal's body structure through cell growth and differentiation. Some insects, fishes, amphibians, mollusks, crustaceans, cnidarians, echinoderms and tunicates undergo metamorphosis, which is often accompanied by a change of nutrition source or behavior.”

  10. “Frogs typically lay their eggs in water. The eggs hatch into aquatic larvae called tadpoles that have tails and internal gills. They have highly specialized rasping mouth parts suitable for herbivorous, omnivorous or planktivorous diets. The life cycle is completed when they metamorphose into adults.”

  13. “Butterflies have the typical four-stage insect life cycle. Winged adults lay eggs on the food plant on which their larvae, known as caterpillars, will feed. The caterpillars grow, sometimes very rapidly, and when fully developed pupate in a chrysalis. When metamorphosis is complete, the pupal skin splits, the adult insect climbs out and, after its wings have expanded and dried, it flies off.”

  16. All though these are entertaining and very interesting animals to examine, it is also best to keep in mind that they are living animals that should be treated with respect and care. We should approach them carefully and research ahead about their lifestyle and needs beforehand because we don’t want to disturb these animals in their habitat, especially when they’re going through metamorphosis which is their most vulnerable state where they can be very delicate and fragile.
  17. It is through learning more about them that we can help preserve them and to maintain a balanced ecosystem for everyone to enjoy.
  18. I love you Ree
