  1. It is my honor to write you regarding the emotional state of an inmate under our custody - Vincent Godfrey.
  2. As you may already know, Vincent Godfrey used to be seen by Mr. Alexander Harris, a former employee under your supervision.
  3. Over the last month, I contacted the LSFD over the phone several times, in order to keep tabs on your intentions with our inmate. Every time, I was told that visits would be scheduled, however I have not once seen those promises fulfilled.
  4.
  5. It is my understanding that the previous medical attendant, Mister Harris, diagnosed Inmate Godfrey with clinical depression.
  6. It is also my understanding that Alexander Harris is no longer employed by you. I was informed of this by Bataillon Chief Lea Labriola, who stated she would have another psychologist assigned to Inmate Godfrey. Although Chief Labriola claimed she would inform me in due time, I have not received word from her or any other LSFD employee.
  7.
  8. Inmate Godfrey recently went through a relapse in attempts on his own health; officers found him unconscious in his cell yesterday.
  9.
  10. As you may know, the Establishment of Convicted Rights' Act establishes the following:
  11. "An inmate that requires mental health care is entitled to receive that treatment in a manner appropriate for their condition."
  12.
  13. Pursuant to the facts summed up above, I would like from LSFD PSY a full update on their plans concerning Inmate Godfrey. I would also like the contact information of any psychologist assigned to him.
  14.
  15. You may answer to this letter in kind, or you may send me an e-mail at theodore.lehmbeck@doc.lsgov.us.
  16. Yours faithfully,
