  1. Like I call this format Crossfire and it's been called Crossfire since about 2002 when warring started on YGO forums, idfk why DN calls Crossfire something else, but here it is. The original warring format for online wars from the beginning of time, where it's 100% impossible to dodge and almost impossible for wars to end in a tie.
  2.
  3. Obviously this is a specialised format and doesn't have to be used for all wars all the time, but it should absolutely be an option for both teams to use.
  4.
  5. Rules
  6.
  7. Wars are 5 aside. Possibly 7 aside, but it works best with 5 aside.
  8.
  9. Both teams post their lineups
  10.
  11. Team A
  12.
  13. SunnyD
  14. BrandonBall
  15. TJ_Kinsley
  16. Arabs N Scarabs
  17. SqirmyWurmy
  18.
  19. Team B
  20.
  21. Atomic NIghtmare
  22. Save the Dolphins
  23. Lord Tyranus
  24. Genex Wrecker
  25. Ultimate Lol
  26.
  27.
  28. Players are matched up. War Admin decides pairings randomly
  29.
  30. Sunny D vs Genexwrecker
  31. Brandon Ball vs Atomic Nightmare
  32. TJ_Kinsley vs Ultimate Lol
  33. Arabs n Scarabs vs Save the Dolphins
  34. SqirmyWurmy vs Lord Tyranus
  35.
  36.
  37. Then you play 1 match, or best of 3 matches, or best of 5 matches if you're really thirsty, vs your opponent. Deck changing is allowed between matches.
  38.
  39. Results
  40.
  41. Sunny D beats Genex 2 matches to 1
  42. Brandon Ball loses to Atomic NIghtmare 2 matches to 0
  43. TJ_KInsley beats Ultimate Lol 1 match to zero because they agreed to only play 1 match
  44. Arabs n Scarabs loses to Save the Dolphins 3 matches to two
  45. Sqirmy Wurmy Loses to Lord Tyranus 3 matches to zero
  46.
  47. Team B wins the the war.
  48.
  49. That's it.
  50.
  51. If you beat your opponent in the Crossfire, you don't play again.
  52.
  53. Every member of your lineup must play.
  54.
  55. Once you win 3/5 of the matchups, the war is over.
  56.
  57. Pros
  58.
  59. It's impossible to dodge. Once hte matchups are announced, it's like a pairing in a DNYCS, you know your opponent, so you PM them and organise a time to play
  60. It's a fast format to play. Even if you're doing a best of 5 matches, because you're doing them all against the same person, you can clear the best of 5 matches very very quickly and easily because you can play the matches all in one session. You can literally finish this type of war in less than 8 hours if all the people play.
  61. It's impossible to dodge.
  62. All 5 team members are brought into it. A team can't just be carried by a single person, at least 3/5 of your members have to contribute to the win, and 4 and 5 can be brought into it if needed.
  63. Cons
  64.
  65. There can be less games played overall, making for more variance than say a 15 match hearts war. It's fairly important to make sure the matchups will play a least a best of 3 matches between themselves to prevent variance.
  66. It's impossible to get ahead by 2-3 hearts and win by going afk.
  67. Timezones can be an issue, but honestly timezones are something that can be overcome, and ARE overcome in every DNYCS. People can organise a time to play between themselves, one person might be playing on Saturday morning, the other at midnight on Friday. You can work it out between yourselves.
  68. It's impossible to dodge. People like dodging on DNF.
  69. All members need to be active. If you don't have 5 people actively dueling on your team idk why you're warring in the first place though.
