- Units can reclass at or above level 10 at any level of promotion - Reclasses are infinite - Units gain two skills for every additional class including promoted classes - Units can use up to five skills at a time, switching between battles - Some of these skills change the very mechanics of the game; e.g. healing by 50% after killing an enemy or moving again after killing an enemy on Ally Phase - Units can grind in Skirmishes - One can spawn Smirmishes on demand with items - Each Skirmish yields at least 1000 gold - Every chapter has "hidden" event tiles that are plainly visible on the map - Even sand levels, which previously had true hidden items, use this system - These tiles regenerate on Skirmishes - Thieves can no longer Steal; instead, all obtainable items are given upon defeat of the enemy - Thieves no longer require Lockpicks; they open things using a skill - All Units use the same item to reclass - All Units use the same item to promote - These reclass and promotion items are available in shops before completion of the campaign - Players gain something called Renown for various tasks, including completing Chapters and Skirmishes; gaining higher renown unlocks ever better items - Characters can attain the highest weapon level (A) with every weapon they use; S-rank has been removed - Weapon Weight and Con have been removed; weapons bring no penalty to the user, no matter their size or material - Players are granted Ancient (previously S-Rank) weapons by default at the beginning of the game via wifi - Units can 'Pair Up' instead of Rescue as in previous games; doing so gives the leading unit bonuses instead of penalties; only allies can do this - Con and aid stats have been removed; any unit can pair up with any unit - Units can attack with adjacent or paired units; paired units get priority; ally only - Units can guard adjacent or paired units; paired units get priority; ally only - Supports raise the chances of dual guard and attack - Units can gain A support with every unit they have supports with - A unit gains bonuses for hit, dodge, avoid, crit and others for any paired units and each unit adjacent to them; A paired unit with units on three sides may gain +10 in all of these areas from being in that position - Units have children who inherit the stats, class sets and growths of their parents, giving them a high starting value and potential - Children are recruited ready to promote at Lv. 10 - The Nosferatu tome is available in shops - Weather does not exist or has no effect on play; Fog of War has been removed - Status ailments are gone, including Berserk, Silence, Poison, Sleep and Stone
