How I like Kirisame Marisa?

Even feel like want to ask me that question. No?

When come to choose your favorite character. What thing you will considering at them first?
What if I ask. "What do you prefer between boobs upgrade Marisa ( Not invincible form ) or her usual flat breasts?
Honestly, I really addict to big boobs girl. But Marisa is an exception, I like her original design. She's one of three characters that can attract me without boobs.
(And when I see her with bigger boobs, it's just~~~)

That's just trash talk anyway.

Normally, I will looking at their bios after look at their outlook design. There are many good looking characters out there. But very very few that can really pleased me.
If we talk about good design character, it's not always female characters for me. I will only look at female character when I feel horny of course, you know it.
I mainly like character where it can inspire the better life for me, note that those character more likely have something similar to me.
So, Marisa. She is hard worker, well that some standard a little the design... that's not even a point why I love her, let talk shall we?

Well I have been ranting about her... there are many reason behind it. Then again, you never really have known why I really like her. It's very long story and I can even write long journey for it.
It's least thing I can do anyway.

I looked at her past, her PC98 from back to her purple uniform. You know Marisa's outgoing character, tomboyish, always smile, right?
In PC98, her master.. Mima. Mima try to steal Hakurei's power in order to take revenge on humanity something. Mima wasn't really a good Mama model for child,
and I'm talking about Marisa, who is her follower at that time. Marisa had an unruly personality from the beginning. Shooting snarky comments as often as she shot bullets.
She had an evil laugh... hmm like (Kyahahahaha!). She also grew two different sets of wings (including Shuusou Gyoku), she also has flown with the aid of a pair of starry bat wings
and a pair of white angelic ones. Marisa had starry wings before Utsuho did. Let say it, at very very first. ZUN didn't try to make her a witch. But it's evil magician that give assist evil master.
She was very different from her modern era counterpart in multiple ways. Marisa started out with a very bright unnatural red. Also both as a hair and eye color. She also wore purple robes.
He resemble her as evil as he can. She had evil laugh too~ Anyway, she treated Mima very respectfully, and probably the most she ever did to. Let say, she called her Mima-sama in very honorific
for the evil spirit.

Marisa’s roots in Touhou were unsurprisingly as a boss that Reimu ended up getting over. She emerged in Touhou 2, Story of Eastern Wonderland, as the Stage 4 Boss and Mima’s minion before spellcard rule.
She then reappeared from Touhou 3 onwards as a playable character. Time passed and finally Entering EoSD’s character reboot, Marisa finally donned her trademark witch outfit for the first time.
But this time she seemed solidified as an actual hero. No longer evil girl that like to laugh. Instead, she laugh happily, bring people smile ( at least the viewer not gensokyofags~).
The usual Marisa that everyone know or heard. Also her friendship with Reimu was also very steady by this point. The two seemed to be very comfortable with each other.
Reimu is second character that Marisa gave her respect.You probably can tell most of it now, Every time a new incident reared its head, Marisa would be there to help solve it.
Arriving with an excuse each time and her usual busybody behavior. Or get in Reimu way for once.

Start from EoSD, Marisa has a lot more of theme songs which such a large range of moods and characteristics exemplified by these themes. Maybe it's because ZUN can't still
decide what Marisa's theme suit her personality the most.... or the man is just drunk. End up, Marisa has the most unique theme songs in the series, edging out Reimu by a slim lead.
Run in differently rhythm. Show that Marisa has many facets in her personality that need to be expressed by her themes. Like Magus Night of touhou 12.8, she is drunk so the music is really came out like that
( Don't know how to explain in words ).

Marisa appears to have a particularly extreme case of kleptomania. While Akyuu states that she probably doesn’t steal money. Marisa enjoys borrows books. Some other magical items.
Sometimes borrowing thing from Kourindou. She then takes this behavior further as a compulsive hoarder. having difficulty even bartering junk like iron scraps and stuffing her house.
Stuffing her house to the brim with objects she found. Fun fact : Alice once joked during Imperishable Night that the hallways of Eientei would be easier to clean than Marisa's house.

Also, regard all those cheerul little girl has. Marisa also does have a violent streak. Which was most prevalent when amplified in Double Dealing Character by the corrupted hakkero.
But also present in her brash and reckless reasoning regularly. Which unusual be like that. Maybe it's a reflect of her actual personality. She loves power and maybe even violent thing.
It can be also refer to her old PC98 in someway. Marisa is known to be a liar, but she lies just for sake of her own. I mean she try to hide her actual personality. Well that's one way to look
at her personality but that's not even the interesting point of her. I will leave this topic for later.

She maybe didn't have any secret. But her bios and personality is still unclear to these day. Although straightforward and rough of speaking, Marisa is not stupid at all.
No, I'm not going to use an event where she said she can count Pi number. No that's not a reason... Well maybe it can be a reason but show the knowledge of Pi is not a main point of her smartness.
She is an author of the only danmaku grimoire in Gensokyo. The careful descriptions of the bosses’ spellcards prove that her memory is exact. And that her attention to detail is far more careful
than she often displays. Get my point now? You know why she can copy Master Spark from Yuuka and some laser form Patchy?

She CAN remember everything she saw, even just for once.

She maybe not looks as smart as Patchy or there was so lack of bios that telling you straight forward about Marisa's smartness. But there are different in their age. Patchy pay attention to the books more than
Marisa. She said she can remember Pi number. It maybe a lie and then Grimore of Marisa say hello to my face. ZUN may not describes about it but how suppose she can remember every single thing as if
she was a true spell cards creator (ZUN) right? ZUN uses her an author of that book. There is another to look at her talent. A skill to copy whatever she think interesting and modified it to be her style.
Yes she is a thief in the way. But really think spellcard is really easy to copy? ( As if you can be a doctor by playing a Surgeon Simulator. ) This is the point that people overlooked,
she is not creative in most peopel's definition but Well actually she is creative because she change Yuuka's raw power into colorful spellcard with stars. Another way to show her personality, I will explain later.

Marisa’s house, located in the Forest of Magic, also doubles as a shop. No she doesn't sell things that she stole. Her house location in a toxic soup of a forest. Hardly to reach by normal human.
Her house seems to be old, damp, and slightly unstable. The even first costumers she ever had was three fairy. Though in some comic, there are couple of animals came out of her house and
there are many issue that support that Marisa's animal lover. Though I will talk about it later. Her house fill with many junks she found as I mentions, books and other variety items.
How she built her house is unknown, it has only appeared in bonus sketches so far. Once can say that Marisa has develop some resistant to poison or toxic.
This is most apparent when she completely disobeys a sign placed by Kasen in front of a field filled with evil spirits and toxic gases. So you may or maynot really can hurt her by poison.
Rinnosuke once noted that although Marisa’s house may be extremely messy, Marisa seemed to be the sort of person that would put a great deal of care into organizing the books using
a numerical system, and most likely keeps an excellent library. She maybe want to keeps it safe until she die and return it as she mentions, not stealing them sell like most fans are thinking.

Marisa also claims to be completely insane in Imperishable Night. ( want to talk about her another personality a bit ). Because she shows no sign of different when face a rays of the full moon.
Alice asks Marisa, if she will going to be ok. Of course Marisa claim she's already crazy as she is.

Also her attitude can also be seen though her spell cards. Most of Marisa’s spell patterns are very simple, relying less on pattern and more on brute force. They also tend to be slightly repetitive,
with many upgraded versions of one attack. You can say that, she just use one spell card but tend to make it different. Although there are not that many complex elements in Marisa’s spellcards,
she clearly puts thought into them, especially for the names. Many of Marisa’s spellcards are obscure references to astrology and theories for space. And she has repeatedly shown that
she has a great deal of love and respect for the stars. Despite their simplicity, she seems to have every possible piece of her spells carefully planned. Unlike Reimu who already born with power.
She was even considerate enough to flavor her star danmaku sweet~ you can say that, those isn't nature power, she wasn't born to gain it. She makes it on her own hand, make them match
her flavor and make them flies. This is why her spellcard is different, not much of pattern, full force power... match every way of her personality. Her danmaku isn't just for game, isn't just a spellcard,
isn't just for beautiful. That danmaku is her. Even her spellcards aren't as good as fantasy heaven by hakurei blood, pure overpowered and no personality, fantasy heaven was actually named by Marisa, it
never be a spellcard from start. Remember that Fantsay Heaven was named by Marisa. Marisa has one of the best design danmaku out there, because it wasn't just for beautiful. It wasn't created by
nature power, she made them, all of it, or modified it from other. Everything based on her flavor and her interesting. Marisa was inspired to use star-based magic by her friend Rinnosuke. However it
can also be considered a remnant from the PC-98 era as Mima also used many star-based attacks. She hasn't born by power, she makes it and it's something that she has limited by it.
Unlike all other characters in touhou, this maybe a reason why people state her most likely inferior to all other characters, Especially Reimu.

Suika noted that Marisa is most likely less lively at home. She may appear to be out going character but maybe that was just a lie. It is worth mentioning that the magician may also be very sensitive.
Even Komachi warned Marisa against becoming depressed. Considering Marisa’s position as perpetually always a step below Reimu. And having to work extremely hard to even stay at that point,
It would not be impossible to assume that she has a stressful job. It is also true that most of Marisa’s magical experiments fail. She also goes to great lengths to hide her background,
although there is mention of her parents, it is unknown why she not live with them. I don't want to assume thing ( Don't want to sound like some another fandom without prove ).
But it's possible there was a terrible fight between the magician and her family that separated them.

Well because of her complexity as both a protagonist and a *person*. Marisa has claimed and will forever claim the top spot on my favorites. She is all sorts of shades of gray between
her black and white attire. ZUN really pays attention on design her, she is one of ZUN’s most well-developed characters in the entire series. With a great deal of content that could be expanded on in fanworks.
But in the end people never read ZUN's work directly anyway. And mostly listen from some fanbase where she is a thief and love to borrowing stuffs. I'm not really recommend to base some character on fanbase.
It can resulted in some bad trend that bring hate to her. People never like thief anyway and most time you refuse to find a reason or to even look at good side of character.
I will not talk about how you look at her in size fetish, the arts works you have found these 3 years already explained them all.

Well let put a few more facts, let us not talk about shit tier Marisa, we only talk about *real* Marisa here.

Marisa owns a pet tsuchinoko from Strange and Bright Nature Deity. However, because it is expensive to keep, it is unknown how long it will stay her pet. Reimu told her to exterminate it but
Marisa claims it’s much too cute to exterminate. ( Aww too cute to punish huh~~~? )  That's one girly side of your tomboyish girl. She also used to play with cat,
and even think about bring a food to share to the bird and other animal. She maybe doesn't show that people but she has shown the sign that she loves animals, and more
than willing to share thing she has with them.

Here is another fact : Marisa can fly without the aid of her broom. Don't want to believe it? She growth wings even before some famous beautiful wings youkai in touhou.
But she chooses to use broom for a more witch-like appearance. She flied fine without it in Fairy Wars ( and drunk ).

Marisa casts most of her magic using her special furnace the “Mini-Hakkero”, but unlike her home-brewed potion bombs, the hakkero was not developed by her but was created
by her friend, Rinnosuke Morichika. It’s a nifty device he claims can blow down a mountain at full power and is a fusion of magic and science. Marisa uses mini-hakkero to *boost* her
currently magic power. She also has used both a staff and a wand before, and not just the hakkero. Because ZUN used to make her looks like Evil Magician. Marisa seems knowledgeable about mercury and arsenic,
and is aware that magicians use them often in their magic. She does not directly state that she uses them, but appears to be an expert about that ones in her most spell cards.
Marisa’s physical attacks are not actually stronger than a normal human’s. Instead, she augments her abilities by buffing them up with magic. Broom crush and even her butt attack is her buff magic attack.
( What if she boosts her physical by increasing the size of her own~? ).

While Alice and Marisa appear to be good friends, albeit argumentative ones, there is no evidence that suggests the two have any romantic. Yes, MariAli is all about fanworks, I find it cute by the way~
(But it kinda ruin me in size fetish)...Patchouli seems to tolerate Marisa at most when she needs her assistance. Well can't blame for it, and it's reasonable.
Nitori shows no particular favor towards Marisa in recent Hopeless Masquerade. For Flan, those two weren't really really related in anyway. Marisa only used to fight with Flan and tell tell to marry Reimu once.
Byakuren is friendly enough with Marisa that the ordinary magician can now visit Makai whenever she wishes by asking Murasa to taker her there.

You may don't know it because people hate novel. Marisa is actually a skilled chef. Not just Sakuya who seems to good at house wife you know. Marisa is good at cooking especially in being able
to create meals with only a limited amount of ingredients. Whenever she visits her friend Kourin with Reimu, she is usually the one to prepare the meal. See her mature way of Marisa behind her tomboyish?
It's so cute~

Marisa’s real age is unknown, but current benchmarks would most likely place her from 16-22 years old. It is difficult to estimate Marisa’s progression in age, as much of ZUN’s art keeps
her looking relatively the same. Marisa’s art in Hopeless Masquerade has her look noticeably in her late teens. However, and there is a change from EoSD to DDC in both maturity and appearance.

My favorite part was that she is trying to enjoy her life to its fulfill. Don't let her simple uniform fool you. Unlike all other characters in gensokyo. She lives in propose of being all self-confident.
Marisa is living to be on her own. Her complexity personality make it hard what is she really want to be in gensokyo. while other main characters already have propose to live in with their job. Marisa has
nothing to do with anything in gensokyo. She can choose to be just normal human and stay with her family. But somehow she want to step up and become magician. She is one and only character that
wasn't born with power and propose. But still want to step up and enjoy her life beyond imagine. That's also one of her charm. Not just tomboyish.

Well that's it. Most fans consider Marisa to be a confident and outgoing person, as she usually is~ The perfect character for those who want an inspire for your life. Marisa isn't perfect character, and
only character that official state to be most realism character. All of these, is why I like Marisa a lot. I don't know how much the fanbase know about her. trouble Maker? Inferior Character? Overrated?
For me she is the best character that ZUN ever designed.
