################################################################### ## CupOfLinux - List of native high Quality Free-to-Play Titles. ## ## http://www.cupoflinux.com/SBB/index.php/topic,665.0.html ## ################################################################### Content: 1 - Introduction 2 - Clients & Categories 3 - TAG-system 4 - FAQ ------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 - INTRODUCTION ------------------------------------------------------------------- I noticed a lack of game-collections for Free-To-Play titles on Linux. Surely, there are some out there in the wild, but every single one I encountered was either pretty out-dated or restricted to Opensource titles. So, it was on me to create a list of really awesome games on my favorite PC-platform - proprietary or not. Note, that this list ONLY has officially supported games on there. There are a ton of Free-To-Play titles out there, working really good in WINE or Virtualbox, but those I won't mention here. Some games in heremay or may not use wrapper-technology, which however is officially supported by the game-developers. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 2 - CLIENTS & CATEGORIES ------------------------------------------------------------------- Games in this list are available on one (or more) of following Clients/Platforms: STEAM (non-free) - http://store.steampowered.com/ DESURA (non-free) - http://www.desura.com/ GOG.com (non-free) - http://www.gog.com/ Lutris (opensource) - https://lutris.net/ Your Browser Repositories / Dev's Website Secondly, there are a bunch of categories and genres available: First-/Thirs-Person-Shooter Simulations Real-Time/Turn-Based Strategy Massively Online Multiplayer Role-Playing Multiplayer Online Battle Arena Stealth & Sneaking Visual Novels Command-Line-Interface Games You can find more information on that in the list's head. http://www.cupoflinux.com/SBB/index.php/topic,665.0.html ------------------------------------------------------------------- 3 - TAG-SYSTEM ------------------------------------------------------------------- I tried to make the list as easily readable as possible. However, a forum isn't the best platform for such a thing (although on the other hand, it ensures a wide spread). Anyway, the TAG-system makes it possible to search the list for your favorite genres and play-style. You can search for games on a particular platform, in a certain genre, opensource or proprietary, and single or multiplayer. This works by simply pressing "CTRL + F" on your keyboard and typing one of the following TAGS: STEAM, DESURA, BROWSER, GOG, LUTRIS, WEBSITE, SINGLE, MULTI, OPEN Also, the games are sorted into game-genres, so you can easily find your favorites. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 4 - FAQ ------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have any more questions, please post them as a comment under the list itself and I try to answer them ASAP and add them to here as well. Also, game-suggestions belong there. http://www.cupoflinux.com/SBB/index.php/topic,665.0.html
