Fellow members of the Avatar community,
This situation we have right now, could either bring us really close together as a community, or tear us apart. The future is decided by our actions, and nothing else. Because of these reasons, I have something to say to all of you.
Regardless the legal or practical rules of an Internet community, what makes a community what it is, is its members. A forum might be owned by someone else, or ruled by people who does not care about the community - but in the end, it is US MEMBERS who makes a community what it is.
A lot of things has happened the latest month, things that has ultimately led to the making of these forums. After a really large number of debates, of flamewars, of conversations, of hate, we are FINALLY going in the right direction. We are on the urge of reshaping the community to what it once was.
And I am not only talking about ToS here - both communities are now going forward, in their own way. In the end, it is up to the members to decide which forum suits them the best - one of them, or both of them. But regardless, it is becoming better.
Unfortunately, there are obstacles in our way. What can be made into something great, is threatened by the fact that people are unable to leave the past behind themselves. I am aware of the fact that the previous flamewar rising between the two communities has left some people with anger and frustration towards other. But I urge the people who feels like this:
If you have something personal with another member, PLEASE, take this up with a PM, do NOT let this affect the entire community.
The recent threads in this matter has had somewhat of a negative impact on the community, which is going against all that has been worked for. I urge ALL of you:
Forget the past. We now have two communities. Work to make the communities better, not to destroy one of them.
We ALL play a role in keeping the forums what they are. If we would all leave there would be no forums. If you feel like you do not contribute to the forums... know that every single of can help making this a better place.
You contribute to making me and many others in here really happy. Even if I do not know every single of you on these forums, the friendship and feeling of closeness in here has helped me INSANELY much.
By being here, you are helping so many people feeling better. Look at these forums, and see the strong community we have here right now. You, as individuals, can work either to make this community stronger, or to bring it down.
Make the right choice. Not only for youself, but for everyone else around you. The community needs you.
