  1. The Microsoft Researcher Appreciation Party approaches! Please prepare your calendars for the evening of Thursday July 26th (for the Microsoft Researcher Appreciation Party) and the early morning of Friday July 27th (for finding your hotel again).
  2.
  3. We have a big change this year – the party will be an open guest list event. To get into our party this year, all that Black Hat attendees need to do is come to the Microsoft booth and collect a token. Everyone is welcome - we will not be maintaining an invite list, and the number of attendees will be limited only by the capacity of the building. So if you want to be sure of getting in, come early!
  4.
  5. The party this year is at Marquee, the spectacular nightclub overlooking the Las Vegas Strip. Doors will open at 9pm and the party will run until late. Marquee was the venue for Kim Kardashian’s 31st birthday party, and we believe that the Microsoft party will be even better.
  6.
  7. Kim may have had a cake depicting herself joy riding in a sports car, but we bet she didn’t give away a quarter of a million dollars! And if she did give away a quarter of a million dollars, it seems highly unlikely that she gave it to a developer of state-of-the-art memory safety vulnerability defense technology. But that is exactly what we’ll be doing when we announce the final winners of Microsoft’s inaugural BlueHat Prize. Microsoft is flying the three BlueHat Prize finalists to Black Hat, and only at our party will they discover which one of them wins the grand prize of $200,000. How could you miss this?
