  1. When you want to submit a time to the Super Mario Sunshine leaderboards, please consider the following guidelines:
  2.
  3. 1. Please provide as much information about your run as you are able to provide.
  4.
  5. This includes things like the date, the console you played on and the version of the game you used. In addition, we strongly encourage the inclusion of:
  6.
  7. * A recording of your run (Either through a capture card, or by recording your TV with a camera).
  8. * A split file of your run, uploaded to splits.io
  9.
  10. Both of these must be submitted into the corresponding fields on the submission form. If your video is split into several parts, provide direct links (Youtube or Twitch preferred) in the comment to all of them.
  11.
  12.
  13. 2. Information provided must be complete.
  14.
  15. This mostly applies to videos. If you submit a video of your run, please make sure that the video includes the entire run.
  16.
  17.
  18. 3. Faster times require video proof.
  19.
  20. Times faster than the following thresholds will require video proof in order to be approved:
  21.
  22. Any% - 1:25:00
  23. 79 Shines - 2:45:00
  24. 96 Shines - 3:00:00
  25. 120 Shines - 3:40:00
  26.
  27.
  28. 4. Emulation is allowed, but video is always required.
  29.
  30. Sunshine doesn't emulate accurately, however since there has been a fair amount of people who wish to run the game on emulator, we allow it for times that don't go below the video threshold. The exception to this is Any%, where any time below 1:35:00 on emulator won't be accepted.
  31.
  32. Video proof is always required for emulated runs, due to the increased ease of cheating within an emulator.
  33.
  34.
  35. 5. If your run gets rejected:
  36.
  37. When this happens, the moderator will leave you a message which details why the run was rejected. The fastest way to get your run accepted is to fix what was wrong, and to simply submit the run again.
  38.
  39. If you can't fix the problem, but you still want the run to be on the leaderboards, you will have to contact one of the moderators. They will try to help you, but it may not always be possible to get your time on the leaderboards.
