ESSAY:


My name is Karim Ahmed El Kady. One of the main reasons I would like to attend Santa Monica College is that I would like to experience studying abroad for the first time in my life. I have traveled to many countries in my lifetime; however, I was only there as a tourist. I have never actually experienced what living there for a long time feels like, and surely by attending Santa Monica College, I will be able to experience that.

One of my friends who currently resides in Canada has recently visited Santa Monica College, and he told me nothing but positive things about the college. Santa Monica College’s campus is perennial and long-standing; it was founded in 1929 and to this day keeps a very positive reputation, which is very commendable. The college is absolutely appealing to any student who’s looking to receive a sterling education.

I plan to complete two years in Santa Monica College and then transfer to any college in New Jersey. Two of my childhood friends live in New Jersey, and I cannot wait until I finish my two years in Santa Monica College and see them. If I get accepted into Santa Monica College, I will work as a freelance graphics designer along with being a college student. I have been doing graphic design on the side for approximately five years, and I have enjoyed every second of it. Graphic Design has taught me that if you put your mind to something, you will definitely do it. I started as a beginner, but I learned something new every single day until I became adept at graphic design.
