the ocean where i belong

a whisper of blue
the group of people flock to the beach,
scrambling about as they play

wading in the waters
of lukewarm excuses
cold words stutter apart

stumble over the sound of the waves
noises coming from the other side of the light
i didn't mean to pursue you
but the water splashes, and you rise from it

this day is the day that i sink

those reflections are dissolved in a vision of fading blue
     (swaying slowly, melting away)
i want only to be cleansed

the water     washes myself away

drifting towards sugary treats
the sweet colors at the sandy beach
looking through a car window to see the scenery,
it won't stop your imagination

distancing myself from my heart,
i admire the heavenly breeze
which creates soft ripples on the water's surface

i want to satisfy myself,
surviving in the cold, bitter water
if one were to walk enough,
these footprints would remain there, perfectly untouched

and so, i begin to sink, alone

i lose myself, trusting in an unknown place
