Batias (Old)

World knowledge: Genetic Experimentation has run rampant across the face of the world. At first, it was "single-splice" patients who would have some animal's genetic makeup cross-bred with their own. They fought for years against the world's legal systems to allow them to do this, but they didn't stop there. "Multi-splicing" began to occur, where humans received the genetic material from multiple animal sources at once. As of today, single-splicing is relatively safe. Upwards of 95% of patients survive the procedure, and give birth to wonderful and powerful children because of it. Multi-splicing is quite a bit less safe, and has not been legalized as of yet. Less than 5% of all multi-splice patients live through the process, and not a single child has been born in the public's eye who has the actual effects of multi-splicing. A group of fundamentalists who named themselves the "Untouched" brought a large group of humans who have not gone through the splicing effects and are not descended from those who have gone through those effects into a single place, buying a large island to house them all. Building their own fortress, the "Untouchable", they raise their own soldiers to one day combat those they deem unworthy to share their planet. They choose to "fight fire with fire" as it stands, but not with animal genetic material. They instead experimented to the point of being able to have humans generate a specific strand of mineral crystal within their bodies, a crystal that does not exist in nature. This crystal adds various pseudo-magical abilities to the person depending on the properties of the crystal, but also render the person extremely weak towards any sort of suggestion-based mind control or hypnosis. The purpose of this final addition is mostly to keep the super-soldiers in line.

Name: Batias Vacant

Physical description:

Attire: Normally A Dark Colored Plaid shirt and Khaki Pants.

Personality: During his childhood, the majority of friendly people have been women. Like after hard day training at camp, the lunch lady puts food on your plate and asks how you are doing. So subconsciously, he has a much easier time opening up to women. This gets him seen as a pervert. Batias, having a lack of will power, subconsciously becomes a 'perv' only because he was told he was one so often.

Likes: Feel good food, the feeling of flight, pure awesomeness.

Dislikes: Fighting enemies without an advantage, people who like to grab you for no apparent reason.

Weapons: Energy Sword and Shield.

Capabilities: The energy he feeds off of comes from a unique crystal which for some reason needs human contact to generate energy. There was however a solution. To etch batias’ molecular code into the crystals. This would allow it to produce power without being held. This method did have a side effect but not necessarily for the worse. While his strength and speed increased he lost a great deal of will power. This makes him extremely susceptible to mind control and attacks that effect the mind.

Powered Armor: Batias' suit feeds off the crystal power given to it through a port in his right arm. When the crystal energy is used, it unfortunately leaves waste. The waste left behind by the crystal energy is shunted out through Batias' wings. The waste is a invisible to an untrained human eye unless in large quantities where it then looks like a blue dust. This makes it impossible to hide when the powered armor is at full power. Aside from that con, the powered armor provides additional strength and speed to an already boosted Batias.

Energy sword: The sword has different modes designed to serve two purposes: Close and long range. When in the close mode is activated the waste from the power crystal transferred to the sword. The sword heats it up and sends it through the sides of the sword, while at the same time, makes sure that the dust stays within two inches if the blade. Basically, it's a big blow torch. When in Long range, half of the sword opens to release a low powered laser. Capable of killing unarmored targets.

Energy shield: The shield is wielded like a gun,a two foot long gun. It also has the appearance of one, not counting the fact the it doesn't have a barrel. When activated the contraption splits itself into three separate skins of metal. Two of the skins on either side of the skin hold the stones pop open to appear to be a crossbow. These stones repel the light energy. Allowing Batias to control the the path that the hard light takes around him. Though the light doesn't completely cover batias. You see should it do that the energy would be wasted for it would be trying to repel the earth itself. The hard concentrated light will also burn anything that touches it.

Wings: His wings On the tips of Batias’ wings are two glowing stones which control the path that the energy shield takes. If these were to be cut off the energy shield would only be able to protect a small circle around itself. Which is fine when it is in the hands of a skilled warrior. What takes on a large part of the wing design are powerful dual rotors on each side of the wings. a pack the holds these wings on Batias' armor doubles as a jet pack, turning the crystal energy into thrust, helping for legitimate flight capabilities. If you would look at the wings on the side while they are not on you would see a inward triangle with vents. They let out the excess blue dust. When the wings are in use it appears to be a 6 inch blade on the sides of the wings, but this is not the case. You can put your hand right in it and still have it.

History: He grew up under a foundation named the Untouched. An entire state making a stand against the Human greed for power. Which has been shown through genetic enhancements. The Untouched Foundation was seriously under the delusion that the rest of the world was out to get it for not wanting to go along with it. They worked furiously for a new power. One that didn’t require crimes against nature. They found a finite power source, so long as they didn’t hold it. When held, the power grows, but to a certain extent. They found that the crystal has a special bond between itself and the unmodified human. They also realized that having to hold this to make it a infinite power source posed as a problem. So they did the one thing that the country was against. Alter the human body for means of power. They etched Batias’ genetic code into the crystal and the crystal into Batias. This allowed for the crystal to charge without being physically held. This weaken Batias’ will power greatly. The crystal’s will to do as people tell him does not listen to the now altered mind of Batias.

So there are three things I gotta do with the character Batias.

1. Talk more about that I.V. thingy JRC brought up.

2. Describe Batias better.

( I'll be changing the design of the power armor because of the fact that while I was first working on it I had the gundam unicorn imprinted on my mind. I should be able to come up with something more detailed and original right now.)

This crystal was found in a low mana density area deep underground. This crystal organism normally lays dormant, but upon physical contact with a human, it begins to consume matter and convert it to energy at a high efficiency rate as well as excelling at retaining it for long periods of time. Though the reason for the prerequisite isn't known, The Untouched have begun using it to fuel their armies.

To prevent the crystal from making the host, Batias, materials for energy conversion as well, the host gets his molecular code etched into the crystal and vise versa. This results in several minor physical boosts, such as increased strength and stamina, but not all of it is good. Most notably less self control over carnal matters, and becoming extremely susceptible to mind control and mental attacks.

[Energy Sword]
The sword is a four and a half foot long single edged straight blade of metal alloys. It has blue colored engravings along the flat of the blade, giving it a silver and blue color design.

A deep groove runs along the edging of the blade. From this groove, a stream of the crystal heated to the point of cell death is shot forth about 2 inches before vanishing into oblivion. The stream of minuscule destabilized energy pockets proves disastrous for anyone caught in it's path.
