- OP rebuild FAQ:
- ’Frequently Asked Questions’’’
- (They’re going to be asked, so here are the answers.)
- 1. Why the fuck should we do this and listen to you?
- Because this is a massively untapped resource that has not been put into play. And should you follow this operation? It's your choice. This is just one idea put into the marketplace of ideas and it's up to everyone here to decide if it's worth following.
- 2. Why should we help them, when developers and publishers created this mess in the first place?
- Because like it or not, Journalists are a parasite on developers and they now have them by the balls so they can't act without a lot of good developers getting caught in the crossfire. Also be pragmatic, we help out developers and publishers, guess who's going to be more likely to listen to us in the future if we come to their rescue?
- 3. What if I want to send a letter to a developer who’s not on the list?
- Do it, the more the merrier. Also be sure to post the address here so other people can do it.
- 4. This developer isn't even in my country, how am I supposed to mail them?
- Mail is international, or see if the publisher/developer has a local or regional branch. Also sending e-mail is not discouraged, but please remember to write letters.
- 5. I fucking hate (Insert publisher here) you've gone full retard if you think I'm going to mail them.
- No one's going to force you to e-mail publisher you hate, but the more developers and publishers we can contact, the better it will be for developers who want to go public. It's the big picture here. Also you have to remember, publishers only care about money, and not ideology. That’s what gives us power over them.
- 6. It’s been a week already and we haven’t gotten a response, this campaign is an utter failure!
- This is a long haul operation; keep in mind that it takes 3-5 days for a letter to arrive at a publishers or dev, and even then they can’t publically announce they got it. This operation is a first step to extending an opportunity to mend fences and forge new relations.
- Also, be aware of shills and anti-GGers, they will do everything to call this a bad idea and try and pit us against Developers and Publishers because they know if we team up, they could have all the advertisers in the world, but if they’re cut off from their source, they’re finished.

- This is part of the GUADA Strategic Partnerships Initiative and Operation Gummybear.
- I received good feedback from the community with this suggestion, so I would like to start moving it forward and eventually have it become it's own major OP. This is essentially a second ODN, but focuses on mailing journalists and online personalities instead of advertisers to gain exposure.
- Our current size is too small to make a meaningful impact- that's just the cold hard truth. They can ignore 30K, but what about 300K? 1 million? Gamergate needs to grow so that our boycotts can have real teeth. A million people won't be writing emails, but they can collectively decide to stop going to the Gamers Are Dead sites. Spreading the news about the boycott of Kotaku and Polygon (And hopefully support of GG) is the goal, all across YT.
- It nearly happened, but there was one problem: The list was TOO BIG.
- The goals of the operation are noble- to get more youtubers to come out as pro-gg and get their subscribers involved/checking out the sub, but there's no way we could contact everyone on the list in any organized fashion. Without the organization, we could not replicate the success of the first ODN.
- So, taking a cue from our daily boycotts, i've decided to break the massive list up into chunks of 5-10 people, to contact daily via PM, social media and comments. Each day one person will be removed and another added to the list so that the people on it slowly rotate out.
- Be polite and attempt to share the information- explain why we need their assistance and how it's in their best interests to help. Youtube is our best and only hope to get our side of the story heard after all.
- As always, be respectful and don't spam. See if you can start conversations in the comments if possible. We're aiming for small-midsized youtubers (10K-100K) because that's where we've seen the most success currently. The goal is to create more Dave Pakmans and Total Biscuits- Hundreds more.
