Bio (must be at least 2 paragraphs):
Effy grew in what most people would call a broken home. To her, it was what she called normal. She didn't grow up with a loving mother or father. She grew up with a drug addicted mother who never held one ounce of love for her daughter. In fact, her mother claimed Effy had gave her this life. Effy always wished that was just the drugs talking, but she knew it was true. Her father had left her mother when he discovered she was pregnant with Effy. Now you know how Effy ruined her mother's life. She made the man her mother loved leave forever.
Once Effy had became a teenager, the drugs only got worse and soon men were coming in and out of the house as if they owned the place. The men soon saw Effy as a valuable plaything. Her mother didn't give two cares to what the men did to Effy. In fact, she thought Effy deserved it. After all, her mother did think it was Effy's fought that she was living this awful life. Effy found herself stuck in a life she didn't want and stuck as a person she didn't want to be. Effy knew it was time for a change. She did what any normal 17 year old would do, she packed her meager amount of things and left the world that would only drag her into darkness.
She had no trouble finding a place to stay. Her best friend during her years in high school welcomed her with loving arms. Once high school was finished, she went on to university and began her major in Theatre. Right now she is still working on that dream of hers while living in a small apartment in New York City. She works at a bookstore whenever she isn't in class. Books seem to be her only love.
Effy is a very happy person and tends to be quite the jokester around people. She is known to be very sarcastic at times, but she means no harm by any remarks she says. There is not a second that goes by where there is not a smile plastered upon her face and a giggle escaping her lips. Don't be fooled though, there is a lot of sadness inside Effy. Sadness that she doesn't know how to handle, but why bring down the other people aound her? She's falling, but why should she bring down other people with her? She also has a fear of men. Ever since she had been raped multiple times, she couldn't look men in the eyes and she didn't dare let one touch her. She acts normal around them, except for those two things.
Para Sample (two paragraphs minimum):
Effy wasn't exactly in a situation that most people wanted to be in. She, as of right now, was watching her one of her mother's friends come toward her with that look. She knew the look. It was the look of a predator about to pounce on it's prey. It was the look a man gave when he wanted something that was not his. Her big green eyes filled with fear and her chest tightened as the man came closer and closer. This was not the first time she had been raped, but it always felt like the first. The fear never leaves no matter how many times it happens. She was a damsel in distress, but she knew there was no hero wanting to save her. Those were stories. The only person that could save her was herself. She scanned the room for something that could help her fight him off. She moved her bright, green eyes back to his face while gritting her teeth. His face was inches from her. She could smell the alcohol that reeked all over him. She could also see the little bit of white below his nose from a recent rendezvous with drugs. She needed to make her move fast or she was going to be doomed to the same fate as always.
Effy was shocked by what she did next. It just didn't seem in her nature to spit in a man's face, but she supposed her deserved a lot worse for what he was about to do. The man was surprised by Effy's small bit of bravery. He stepped back and gave Effy just enough room to run for it. Her small body quickly ran out of the space that was enclosing her. She felt her free at this moment. It was probably the most daring thing she had ever done. "You bitch!" the man roared as he turned and ran for her. Effy quickened her pace as she ran down the stairs of the rustic looking house. "Please don't let him catch me," she thought as she reached the floor. "Ahhh!" she screamed as a hand grabbed her brown hair. He was dragging her up the steps by her hair. This wasn't how it was supposed to go. She was going to escape for once. She was going to be safe. The tears came down her cheeks without her noticing. They actually felt nice in a way. Her face was so cold and tears were so hot. It was the only thing that had ever felt so warm in her life. "Maybe next time you'll learn not to run," he said with a snarl as he finally reached the end of the stairs."Besides, you're going to be just like your mother. Maybe not at this moment, but I'll break you eventually."
"I'm not her!" Effy screamed as she shot straight up in her bed. Tears where running down her face as she woke from her nightmare of the past. She could feel her face crumbling at the realization that she would never escape her past. It would always haunt her. Effy removed the sheets off her sweating body and headed to the small window in her room. She lifted the window up while smiling lightly as the night air rushed in against her body. "I wonder if it ever gets easier," she murmured to herself as she looked at the lights that made New York City so beautiful. Her green eyes scanned the city as she thought about that nightmare. She didn't want to see those images anymore. Luckily for her, this was the last time she would dream alone.
