Dearest customers,
I write to you all, our existing and historic users, to inform you that Eventasaurus must be discontinued in the near future (see small print below for details). It has been a difficult few months for us as we approached this decision. Ultimately, despite making a splash in the industry and showing some strong proof of demand, we had under-financed the project early on and have ended up in a situation where our current progress to date is insufficient to raise additional funding. Furthermore, our current income from customers is not sufficient to sustain our operating costs and as CEO, I must make the decision to seek alternative routes forward.
For this reason, we have decided to shut-down the service and instead we are speaking with industry partners and competitors about taking our technology forward so that the events industry may benefit from the vision we held and continue to passionately believe in.
We were a very small team, attempting something large and we are proud of what we accomplished in such a short amount of time. However, we were always punching above our weight and we needed more resources in order to fully execute on our vision. It is our hope that we may find a partner who sees the potential value in event data and wishes to drive the events industry forward in terms of how organisers can measure, understand and maximise their impact upon the world.
For those of you interested in the details of what we achieved, learnt, developed technologically, or for chatting about our visions for the future, please feel absolutely entitled to contact me directly.
For the rest of you, I wish you the best of luck with your events in the future and thanks for all of your support - something tells me we aren't quite finished pushing the boundaries just yet.
Most humbly yours,
Sam
The Small Print
1. The Eventasaurus website will be shutdown on September 30th 2012.
2. All existing customers were moved onto a complimentary plan and no charges were billed after we realised this shutdown was a potential eventuality. Rest assured, no customers have been billed for the service since May 2012. Naturally, you may continue to use the service for free until September 30th 2012.
3. There is no data you need to backup or extract from Eventasaurus, all of your data published to social networks will remain on these social networks after the service is shutdown—just the Eventasaurus dashboard will become unavailable.
4. We still continue to make videos of toy dinosaurs talking to each other and you might find these occasionally published around the internet for years to come.
