Ealy in life Enzan'Ko had shown great aptitude for magical items, once accidently setting off his mother's wand of dancing lights which he then used to tease the cat. However once his mother started to teach him the ways of magic, he realized that simple castings of the arcane didn't interest him as much as the items and devices and the range of effects they could produce. With an odd mix of alchemy, science, and magic, Enzan found a knack for creating just the effect he wanted without having to go through all that bothersome research and studies that wizards did. Quasi-science or quasi-magic however you look at it, he never really felt accepted for his choice of study at home and decided to seek more knowlage elsewhere. Enzan found a sort of kinship among the crazy gnomes and even the gruff dwarves, in spite of his heritage, of a multi-race settlement and set about learning the finer points of crafting and inventing and combining them into his own weird usages among them.
