1. So reading through this issue, it's good to see that you guys put a lot of work into it.
2.
3. However I disagree significantly with the article about shading in this issue. Unless you're dealing with rendering you're generally advised to not use grey to shade anything organic, and when it comes to rendering you don't put the actual colors down first. :B It can make skin look sickly and things dull when that's not necessarily intended so you're better off using red or purple or blue based tones when it comes to flesh or the tone of your picture. When looking at the sample pictures, the unshaded picture actually ends up looking better.

5. Some other tutorials I would recommend instead include [ur=http://purplekecleon.deviantart.com/art/How-I-See-Color-A-Tutorial-184642625]this guide by PK, which also covers the other points mentioned in the article, and this mini tutorial by the creator of Cucumber Quest.

7. It was a well written article, don't get me wrong, but the advice written there appears more hurtful than helpful.
8.
9. Also the side character advice was a nice read, but I'd be interested to see more examples besides an entire page all about how great Impulse's characters (even if you acknowledged how much you're writing about it in this article) before moving onto Beast of Hoenn's - which are both admittedly very well written stories. It's a lot of "we see this and this and this and this is different from the canon games so it's soooo much better and involving!" Like I probably missed the point but it just felt like it was one page actual help to one and a half "lookit these they're great" without really showing ways to incorporate it easily into a story instead of just having it look like it's shoved in to get a point across. Maybe more examples next time instead of just telling us these traits without showing much in comparison? Not that I'm asking for you to just slap quotes willy nilly, but (oh boy I'm repeating myself so much, bah) I think it might help more to see how they're incorporated.

11. The interview was an interesting read too but the questions really were rather generic. Maybe look for more specialized questions that maybe bring up their run or something next time? It honestly feels like you just sent them a template that didn't require too much thought or any sort of interest.
