  1. Satisfaction Survey Established
  2. Upton General Hospital has established patient satisfaction as a major organization goal and is committed to establishing a hospital-wise patient satisfaction survey. Patient satisfaction is recognized as a critical business issuer and is a mechanism to demonstrate high-quality care and service to employers, insurers, and the community. “Patient satisfaction surveying is an important tool to help us learn more about our patients’ expectations,” said Freda Banks, RN, DNS, vice president, nursing. “By understanding their needs better, we can deliver care in ways that are more satisfying to them.”
  3. The first phase of the patient satisfaction survey process will be implemented in July. Patients in the burn center, in-patient surgery, emergency, and same-day surgery will be surveyed. Preliminary results will be reported to the board of directors and corporate officers at the August board meeting, and then distributed to department heads.
