  1. Mega Manectric, introduced to us with XY, is a very prominent Pokemon in ORAS OU. Sitting at a very high A+ Rank in the OU viability rankings, and it's not hard to see why it's one of the best Pokemon that Gen 6 offered to us.
  2.
  3. Two things stand out about Mega Manectric: its fantastic Speed tier and its great Special Attack stat, which allows it to function as an extremely effective offensive pivot. Intimidate as its ability, pseudo-BoltBeam coverage with HP Ice+Thunderbolt, Volt Switch to grab momentum, and Flamethrower to hit bulky Steel-types like Ferrothorn, are just the icing on the cake.
  4.
  5. These qualities make Mega Manectric perform best versus offensive teams because it outspeeds so many threats nd is an insanely good momentum grabber.
  6.
  7. With that being said, it is hard-walled by certain Pokemon, such as mixed wall Hippowdon, Assault Vest Raikou, the Lati twins, Heatran, and Mega Altaria, all of which make great checks to Manectric. This is why it's often paired with Pokemon such as Weavile, who Pursuit traps the Lati twins, does a lot of damage to Heatran and, Hippowdon, and outspeeds and OHKOs Mega Altaria if it hasn't set up a Dragon Dance. Pokemonsuch as Landorus-T also make for good partners, which can form a nice VoltTurn core as well as (In Landorus's case) a dual-Intimidate core that can nullify a lot of physical threats.
  8.
  9. As we come to the end of the article, I'd like to finish off by saying that Mega Manectric is very effective in OU. It is an absolutely devastating threat to offensive teams and functions as an excellent offensive pivot that justifies its rank in the OU viability rankings.
