  1. Janitors don't like being banned from /q/
  2.
  3. (17:35:00) +AoC: Reminder that the /q/ ban extends to both logged out and logged in comments
  4. (17:35:19) +Scrubadour: does it?
  5. (17:35:28) +AoC: read the last mail
  6. (17:35:28) » Quit: +Spitch (~Spitch@a.man.chooses.and.a.slave.obeys) (Ping timeout: 240 seconds)
  7. (17:35:46) +AoC: please do not post /q/ in any form
  8. (17:35:59) +UltraHoss: Why wouldn't it? We have the same ID when we're logged in as when we're logged out, don't we?
  9. (17:36:19) +duanemoody: wait, i thought we could post in /q/ when it wasn't related to moderation
  10. (17:36:25) +duanemoody: that's what rapeape said
  11. (17:36:29) +AoC: well, the early comment to be logged out was to avoid the double posts or image-only replies
  12. (17:36:41) +AoC: but now the ban extends to all comments
  13. (17:36:44) +UltraHoss: Yeah duanemoody they retracted it and said no posts on /q/ at all.
  14. (17:36:48) +UltraHoss: Ah I see
  15. (17:37:00) +McNuggets: Well, the reason I stayed away from my tablet is because I don't have it set up to time my posts on /q/, so I could have easily posted within the timer limit and outted myself.
  16. (17:37:09) +McNuggets: Now that it's off limits, I can use the tablet for Jani purposes.
  17. (17:37:15) @RapeApe: two leaks in such a short time, and one after moot said that janitors would be barred from /q/
  18. (17:37:26) @RapeApe: we can't afford to lose any more face
  19. (17:37:48) +duanemoody: sigh
  20. (17:38:03) +McNuggets: Was always very, very careful not to out myself. But, since someone did it for me, I happily accept the censure.
  21. (17:39:15) %fsdfdsf: This sucks and it's bringing me down a little
  22. (17:39:20) +duanemoody: same
  23. (17:39:24) +Azatsu: same
  24. (17:39:38) +duanemoody: if moot can't figure out how to code limits back into /q/ for janitors that's his problem
  25. (17:39:57) +AoC: take it easy guys, we've stormed worse
  26. (17:40:01) +AoC: this too shall pass
  27. (17:40:07) +McNuggets: ^^
  28. (17:40:09) %fsdfdsf: I am with AoC on taking it wasy
  29. (17:40:12) %fsdfdsf: easy*
  30. (17:40:17) +duanemoody: i've never been told i was banned from a board before as a janitor
  31. (17:40:22) +Azatsu: I`m taking it easy too, I just find all of these events very unfortunate
  32. (17:40:29) %fsdfdsf: Same here
  33. (17:40:56) +Scrubadour: muh freedums
  34. (17:40:59) @ALTERNATIVE: shouldn't have been posting on /q/ in the first place
  35. (17:41:00) » Join: Henchouse (~Henchouse@Rizon-D45FA040.dyn.optonline.net)
  36. (17:41:00) » ChanServ (+h) Henchouse
  37. (17:41:00) +McNuggets: Though, admittedly, I do miss talking to the people - even if they didn't know who I was.
  38. (17:41:01) %fsdfdsf: People don't realize that sometimes what people say and do are different and sometimes what they say doesn't mean they don't care
  39. (17:41:05) @ALTERNATIVE: it's not your place to represent the site
  40. (17:41:43) +duanemoody: i wasn't
  41. (17:41:44) +McNuggets: I get so irate with whiners and shitposters exactly because I care.
  42. (17:41:48) +duanemoody: i was commenting as myself
  43. (17:41:56) +duanemoody: dial that indignation back a bit
  44. (17:42:03) %fsdfdsf: ^this, the opinions expressed in /q/ were expressed as users by most of us, not as a janitor
  45. (17:42:08) @ALTERNATIVE: stop inferring my tone from what I'm saying
  46. (17:42:18) +duanemoody: stop insinuating i'm representing 4chan then
  47. (17:42:27) +McNuggets: now now ... no need for schism between mods and janis. We're all in this together.
  48. (17:42:33) @ALTERNATIVE: that's exactly what ended up happening
  49. (17:42:44) @ALTERNATIVE: we don't get to vent
  50. (17:43:18) +duanemoody: for the most part i was participating in threads about desired features
  51. (17:43:26) +duanemoody: i stopped snarking
  52. (17:43:54) +UltraHoss: Yeah, I think it's better for us to stay off of /q/ too. Not just about saving face, but if we spend all of our time reading threads that are 99% people complaining about us, it's going to corrupt our view of things and ruin our own morale.
  53. (17:44:17) +duanemoody: then i sincerely hope the mods are reading /q/ because i won't
  54. (17:44:26) +AoC: I will miss being part of the moot PMQs
  55. (17:44:34) +AoC: those were always good fun
  56. (17:44:37) @ALTERNATIVE: it's a really difficult job and does wear on your, I know
  57. (17:44:43) @ALTERNATIVE: wear on you
  58. (17:44:49) +Cadfael: yeah but duane someone literally today, post happening, went and double posted about moderation in a thread and users noticed. This literally a few days since someone went and posted an image only, so its not one persons fault really but its best to saty away for now
  59. (17:45:07) +duanemoody: IT'S NOT LIKE THAT CODE COULD BE FIXED OR ANYTHING
  60. (17:45:14) +duanemoody: NO, WE NEED POLICY
  61. (17:45:19) %fsdfdsf: I was the single image post
  62. (17:45:19) +duanemoody: gj
  63. (17:45:27) +VCR_Working: breathe
  64. (17:45:33) +duanemoody: all you have to do is put us on the same fucking timer as the rest
  65. (17:45:35) %fsdfdsf: That was my bad
  66. (17:45:36) +duanemoody: problem solved
  67. (17:45:42) +Scrubadour: i will miss writing melodramatic psychological explanations of why moot won't shut down 4chan
  68. (17:46:09) +McNuggets: I'll miss being snarky about people who want /pol/ deleted.
  69. (17:46:12) +Scrubadour: it was fun that he saw it and responded i suppose
  70. (17:46:21) +Troid: I'll miss being able to post on any 4chan board I want to.
  71. (17:46:21) +duanemoody: no, this is dicks
  72. (17:46:27) +Azatsu: I'm glad I won't have to debate with /jp/ers about why such topic shouldn't be allowed, or why was his thread deleted
  73. (17:47:01) @RapeApe: duanemoody, the code is being fixed.
  74. (17:47:12) +duanemoody: now you tell us
  75. (17:47:14) +Azatsu: But well, it's been a long time since I've done that. I gave up on /q/ very early
  76. (17:47:27) +McNuggets: But, I do agree that /q/ can wear you down. I agree with my censure because my ID is static. There is no way I could post on /q/ now without it turning into an instant "MQr Q&A/Lynching". I can't speak for anyone else.
  77. (17:47:31) +Troid: what's the point of fixing it if janitors aren't posting there?
  78. (17:47:31) +Azatsu: what I will miss, though, is instantly identifying AoC not by his ID, but by his posting style
  79. (17:47:41) +Troid: and I should have put fixing in quotation marks
  80. (17:47:42) +duanemoody: i occasionally posted there
  81. (17:47:52) +duanemoody: i felt guilty at not reading it more
  82. (17:48:02) %fsdfdsf: I read /q/ all the time
  83. (17:48:05) +duanemoody: being told "NOT YOURS" is a fuck-you
  84. (17:48:09) @RapeApe: i'm going to talk to moot tonight. maybe we'll think of something new.
