  1. Hey,
  2.
  3. I don't think that I heard anything about any disagreements or conflagrations between you guys - sorry to hear that.  Money issues can be stressful, especially with people who don't know each other.  I'm sorry to see that it got  heated, and I'm happy to handle the deal to keep tempers cool.

  5. Huh, how strange. I've worked with him before on political projects, and his rates for those are much, much higher. Then again, so are mine. I normally charge political clients anywhere between $90 and $160, and for Drupal work specifically, I've seen it go as high as $250.  I suspect  that those are heavily out of date - I'll be sure to mention it to him.  Anyway, that's why we need to get some of that Democratic money.

  7. The net 7 thing...I don't know what to tell you, man.  That's been the norm in the political consulting arena since I got into it, back in 2003, and especially true in the political technology consulting world.  I've seen some invoices, particularly for GIS and data analysis work, turn around on net 3 terms.  If you want to avoid net 7 in the future, I'm willing to have that conversation, but it will make things a bit tough with finding people who work with Democratic tech like Salsa, Blue State Digital, etc.   In any event, those were the terms I agreed to for this project because I figured it'd be a standard issue political project, so in this case, I think that we have to honour it, and evaluate future project terms soon.

  9. In re: paying me without configuring a PayPal account, I see the dilemma. Tell you what: I'm nigh unto positive that you can pay someone who has a PayPal account using a Visa without having to set up a PayPal account on your own, and if not, I'll happily use a bank to bank transfer with BoA. Heck, if you want to take a leisurely lunch and shoot the shit tomorrow, I can meet you in DC and we can hang out for a bit and then I can deposit a cheque and head back to VA to close out the workday.  We do need to talk about the big book, anyway.
