- Today is today wake up, wake up.
- Jump out of bed and jump on you parent’s bed.
- Their bed rocks again, again today.
- Time for breakfast, daddy had gin
- Mommy had smoke and cried again
- I had nothing, but that’s okay
- Because today, today is my Birthday
- The school bus comes Yellow and fun
- And up goes bright
- The light of the sun
- I get to school and the teacher gasps
- At the fact that I’m ten!-as far as I can grasp
- I’m rushed off away
- Woosh woosh woosh
- The the nurse’s office
- Push Push Push
- She looks at me and gasps. Oh she gasps
- Still, I turned ten, is all I can grasp
- A smile turned wide on my black and blue face
- But blue is my favorite color
- I scrawl it on a page
- I’m wooshed off again
- Rush Rush Rush
- Off to another, to another bus
- This one is different, a tad odd and strange
- It drives far off, out of my range
- I cry again, this time for joy
- It must be a surprise party oh joy, oh boy!
- But the place we arrive is strange and obtuse
- They examine real fast, the blacks and the blues
- They poke and prod
- and sit and they nod
- I’m whisked away
- Again Again
- Whisk Whisk Whisk
- They tisk tisk tisk
- I’m thrown in a room
- With other boys and girls
- Today I was ten
- Tomorrow is then
- And I was eighteen
- And to my parents, again, I never was seen
