  1. Technical Details about these remasters:
  2.
  3. I’ve obtained the highest quality/generation source material that has surfaced for any given performance and stitched together the complete performances. In some parts of certain shows, the quality may drop down in between songs (this is a common point of editing on many bootlegs/sources), but the performances are now 100% complete. I’ve gone out of my way NOT to use commercially released sources, for both copyright reasons and the fact that many times these sources include completely re-edited/re-mixed/sometimes even re-recorded audio and video. These are all intended to be a high quality version of the actual complete performances - flaws and all.
  4.
  5. Most content was only available in a SD resolution - most commonly a VHS or similar NTSC capture, maxing out at 640x480, so I’ve upscaled to 720p HD using swScale and Yadif to remove jagged edges. This was done at the proper aspect ratios for the source. For example, If a non-widescreen 4:3 source was used, then the 720p upscale was done using a crop/pan-and-scan method, NOT a straight resize (which would result in the video appearing unnaturally wide/fat). If low resolution but true widescreen 16:9 footage was available, then it was trimmed to be the true 16:9 aspect ratio and upscaled. Extremely minimal color correction has been used. No sharpening was applied. The result of all this is probably the highest quality that we will see unless master tapes somehow surface for these performances. I’ve posted MP4 downloads of these performances.

  7. The audio was fully mastered to live performance recording standards without compromising quality. No over compression/limiting, no boosting of the stereo width/crowd, no added effects - just a standard mastering to make the audio as pristine as possible. Note that this is not re-mixing, it’s remastering. I don’t have access to the individual multitracks of the performances, so I am only able to work on the original stereo mix that I’ve obtained or edited together. That means that, for the most part, if there were technical issues on stage or in the broadcast/recording process, those issues were intentionally not corrected. I’ve posted links to 320kbps MP3s for download, complete with tags and artwork.

  9. If a new source for a performance becomes available, expect an updated version to be posted. I’ll provide links/annotations/redirections where applicable.
