For a moment things simply seem to hang still and silent. And then the pilots here amid a slight crackle of static the soft, young hum of La Marseillaise.

[2010-07-08 20::14:12] Henri_DEllaine: A resounding crack is heard at the scene as the shining gold Unit 03 drops down to the ground, recovering in a roll in time for it to catch a second black blot dropping from the transport.
[2010-07-08 20::15:18] Henri_DEllaine: Raising the spear aloft, Henri charges towards the target with fervent courage. Luckilly, the lcl takes care of the cold sweat quickly covering his body.
[2010-07-08 20::29:18] Doink: The "Target" stands before Henri. On their video feeds, the other pilots can see it loom over him as he approaches.
[2010-07-08 20::29:40] Doink: The creature before you is massive, at least as tall as the Evas despite laying on its distended belly. It looks toad-like, if a toad had massive segmented limbs that seem to writhe and twist in ways that they shouldn’t be able to, no eyes, and a gaping maw lined with row after row of horrible spiny teeth.

He thrusts the progressive spear forward to glance and ward back the hulking thing but it undulates just out of the way.
[2010-07-08 21::09:05] Doink: As he misses, the creature lashes out again with another limb, grasping at Unit 03's leg and tearing at its armor.

[2010-07-08 21::15:35] Henri_DEllaine: A gasheous flutter of light envelopes Henri's right leg in the plug, a bubble of air escaping mouth as he yelps in agony. He was good in tests, yeah, but he was never good at taking the full brunt of assaults and didn't see himself having an opportunity to fall back. Taking a small step back and digging his heels in, Henri aims the spear forward, ready to deflect more attacks.
[2010-07-08 21::21:35] Doink: The creature lashes out at Henri again—this time, multiple limbs stretch out at odd angles towards the Eva!
[2010-07-08 21::23:59] Henri_DEllaine: More limbs swipe at Unit 03, one zipping just past and the other being redirected towards the ground by a quick stabbing sweep of the spear.
[2010-07-08 21::25:50] Doink: A dull roar begins to fill the air around you as a group of carrier planes approach over the horizon.
[2010-07-08 21::26:32] Doink: Systems begin to flicker to life inside the entry plugs of the other pilots, the walls of the plug suddenly flashing transparent as all systems come online.
[2010-07-08 21::27:21] Doink: "Arriving at drop point," a voice says over the comm. "Preparing to drop."
[2010-07-08 21::28:00] Doink: With a clang, the support structures release, and four more Evas come crashing down on the battlefield.
[2010-07-08 21::30:31] John_Kilanger: cracks his knuckles and puts his hands on the controls as he falls to the ground, righting himself so that he lands on his feet. As he lands he readies his spear torwards the creature.
[2010-07-08 21::31:02] Ruru_Fields: "Woo! In the pipe! Five by five." She calls out as she falls, describing a casual flip before she lands on the ground in a crouch, right leg bent, left leg slid to the side, left arm on the ground to brace, battle rifle in her right pointed to the sky. "Solid. Someone call for backup?"
[2010-07-08 21::31:35] Kazimir_Prochazka: is jarred by the sudden lights of the cockpit and watches as the screens show him dropping from the sky...it all seems so incredibly real to him despite being on a screen. Hoping for the best, he readies his feet as if he was dropping from a roof to catch his fall. EVA-04 makes an enormous thud, shaking under it's bulk, before righting itself.
[2010-07-08 21::33:12] Kazimir_Prochazka: thinks of his old times back in Czech, and EVA-04 readies its weapon in a fashion similar to his own, and begins to crouch as if a foot soldier. Kazimir takes a deep breath, and then reports... "Ground contact...and in one piece."
[2010-07-08 21::34:23] Henri_DEllaine: A window pops up inside the plugs of the 4 other pilots, in it the yellow adorned pilot of the yellow Evangelion. "Conferes! What took you so damn long?"
[2010-07-08 21::34:59] Doink: "All units, engage the target. It's AT Field is still intact—I recommend that at least two more units neutralize!"
[2010-07-08 21::35:29] Michael_Al-Misiri: torpedos through the air with no apparent movement from the Evangelion. Unit 01 impales the earth, its knees bending from the coffin-like stance it was assuming before to cushion the impact. Its arms lifeless at its sides, 01's teeth seperate from their vice - A metallic maw ready to greet the beast.

[2010-07-08 21::35:53] Kazimir_Prochazka: watches both screens speak, then turns and watches his other comrades land and make their moves...

[2010-07-08 21::41:14] Doink: "Pilot D'Ellaine. We've dropped a reserve battery pod. It's about 10dm behind you."
[2010-07-08 21::51:40] Henri_DEllaine: At the sign of reinforcements, Henri bolts backwards to install the fresh battery, batting away an attack from the thing behind him as he does so.

[2010-07-08 22::00:41] Kazimir_Prochazka: sits in his cockpit, begrudgingly following the words of Mike and this new pilot...and tries to push. Muttering under his breath, he echoes the words in his mind and begins to feel his Eva gain a peculiar sensation around him, and takes this as his chance to attack.
[2010-07-08 22::01:52] Kazimir_Prochazka: aligning the sights as he ahd done so many other times before, he takes aim at the abberation in front of him and fires off a shot that strikes true. Instinctively, he echoes back to the others "Engaging with supressive fire."

[2010-07-08 22::04:59] Ruru_Fields: takes a deep breath and stands her eva up rail straight. "Focus on your breathing Kagemaru." She closes her eyes and her left hand comes to her chest, the eva just standing there as she makees a classic kung-fu cinema finger weave. She opens her eyes. "Ha!" and with the force of soundless thunder her AT field springs to life.

[2010-07-08 22::10:03] John_Kilanger: Concentrates as he controls his breathing and brings his AT field out to full spread. "Just like during training" he mutters to himself.
[2010-07-08 22::11:36] Doink: The creature remains where it is, but everyone can see a soft glow starting to emit from the shifting core inside it's maw.
[2010-07-08 22::12:15] Doink: [Henri. The creature is 10dm in front of you, and starting to glow. You have Initiative.]
[2010-07-08 22::17:05] Michael_Al-Misiri: stands motionless as his AT-Field activates and spreads, 01's arms eerily lifeless at its sides.
[2010-07-08 22::22:10] Henri_DEllaine: Making no light of the reset timer floating in his peripheral vision and his new allies beginning to dissolve the opponent's defenses,  Unit 03 lurches forward implanting its spear head deep in the monster.
[2010-07-08 22::25:04] Doink: The spear buries itself in the 'forehead' of the beast, tearing a massive gash straight through it. The creature lets out a roar, finally showing some sign of hurt.

[2010-07-08 22::32:19] Michael_Al-Misiri: absorbs part of the monstrosity's soul while projecting 01's in a luminescent white.

[2010-07-08 22::37:22] Kazimir_Prochazka: watches as his team mates stand by and raise their AT Fields, and with some concern wonders if he didn't reinforce his enough as they are taking much longer. Regardless, he turns his attention to the creature before him and once again readies his sights and fire off another two shots, watching them strike true yet again.
[2010-07-08 22::38:11] Kazimir_Prochazka: smirks to himself in his cockpit, wondering if that is all there is to it with these Evas...he's not doing too bad for his first time.
[2010-07-08 22::39:03] Doink: The shots impact across the beast in rapid succession, sending it stumbling backwards with a whine of pain.
[2010-07-08 22::40:13] Ruru_Fields: aims her markerlight on the wing to points directly at the core of the monstrosity and brings her battle rifle to bear on the target, lining up the shot.

[2010-07-08 22::41:13] Kazimir_Prochazka: is also made incredibly aware of a harsh metranome in his own cockpit, and turns to see his operational timer ticking steadily downwards. "Uh...air forces? Any spare batteries? I'm getting low."

[2010-07-08 22::55:19] John_Kilanger: begins to move forward a little in the hopes of giving his spear more momentum, As soon as hes done moving he throws his spear torwards the monster's core.
[2010-07-08 22::57:05] Doink: The spear cracks up against the shifting shape before bouncing off, clanging against the earth nearby. A faint crack can be seen running through the core.
[2010-07-08 22::57:33] Doink: The beast thrashes around, but doesn't seem to be able to do much more.

[2010-07-08 23::04:58] Henri_DEllaine: The Evangelion raises the spear high over it's head as if posing for some kind of Barroque victory painting. With a powerful downward thrust, Henri shoves the spear head straight into the core.
[2010-07-08 23::05:48] Doink: The spear tip bounces off the undulating core. It doesn't seem to have much effect, but the crack appears to be widening a bit.

[2010-07-08 23::08:04] Michael_Al-Misiri: charges violently at the monster and lunges into its mouth, wrapping 01's jaws around the red core.
[2010-07-08 23::09:56] Doink: The creature spasms as the Eva throws itself into its maw, its teeth skittering against the diamond-hard surface of the core. It doesn't seem to do much good, either.

[2010-07-08 23::20:33] Kazimir_Prochazka: watches as his team mates get medieval on the abberation, hocking spears and watching Ruru begin a targeting protocol of sorts, waiting by as his team mates attacks begin to splinter the surface of the creatures "core". Heeding the words of his commander, he lined up his sights on the creatures core...
[2010-07-08 23::20:57] Doink: The shots impact all over the body of the creature, narrowly missing Michael as they plunge into its limbs, face, and—a few—straight into the core. The ball is shining brighter, now, and undulating faster and faster, hairline fractures beginning to spread all over it.

[2010-07-08 23::22:23] Ruru_Fields: sets her fire select to single bullet, placing the reticle of the sight right in the middle of the red light leading from her shoulder. Just like she learned, exhale slowly, and squeeze, don't pull.
[2010-07-08 23::22:39] Kazimir_Prochazka: ignores any protests from Michael as the shots continue to shower across it's body. "Target appears to be...heavily disabled. Ruru, clean it up."
[2010-07-08 23::28:30] Ruru_Fields: smirks at that as a wicked little grin spreads over her face, though no one can see it under the cover of her scarf. "Oh, you didn't have to -tell- me to do that." She says as she lets the shot fly, bullet hurtling through the air towards the join of a crack in the core, impacting solidly enough to threaten going through it.
[2010-07-08 23::30:52] Doink: The projectiles impact the core with a bang, and with it, the fractured core shatters, flying outwards in strange fractal patterns that pass directly through the body of the creature, flying off into space around it until they fade off into the distance.
[2010-07-08 23::31:23] Doink: The rest of the body sags downwards, slowly, as if deflating. It, too, begins to fade slowly, as if it was not only folding up but folding OUT—
