  2. Application of Rules: what they cover and how to apply
  3. Note: Examples are here to give you an idea of where some common things you encounter fall on the spectrum. They do not encompass the whole of what you should and shouldn’t delete/warn/ban for.
  4. 1)      respect all members
  5. a.      includes flaming, trolling, insults, and all other forms of disrespect
  6. b.      like raging at people, bot abuse, or sexual advances
  7. Note: possible exception when the two people are friends and no offence is meant or taken. If you’re not sure if two people are friends, consider pming the possible victim and asking if the action in question bothers them.
  8. **context is important!!**
  9. 2)      No spoilers
  10. a.      At the end of School Days, everyone dies!!!  spoiler.
  11. b.      In this week’s Naruto episode/manga, Sasuke killed a frog!!! spoiler. Or it would be if anyone cared that Sasuke killed a frog.
  12. c.      OMG guys the end of School Days is freakin’ messed uuuuuup!  not spoiler.
  13. 3)      no offensive material  
  14. a.      covers indecent pics, porn, hentai, ecchi,  cybering, and the like
  15. b.      some forms of bot abuse also fall under this
  16. i.      include making a bot say or call you indecent things or basically to make a bot do anything a user would get warned for under this rule
  17. ii.      /gis is currently disabled, but if someone accidently pulls up an inappropriate picture or definition using botteh, give them an informal warning to be more careful with how they use him. If they continue pulling up inappropriate items, begin warning.
  18. 4)       keep conflict to a minimum
  19. a.      applies to anytime an argument gets out of hand for any reason. As soon as they stop being civil, warn both of them.
  20. i.       if they do not bring it back to a polite discussion delete and ban
  21. b.      keep in mind the difference between argument and discussion
  22. i.      if people are discussing something politely it doesn’t apply
  23. ii.     OMG YOU'RE STUPID ROMNEY SHOULD WIN NOW GO DIE IN A DITCH  argument.
  24. iii.    Obama is the better candidate because he likes puppies.  discussion.
  25. iv.     taunting and things like "What's the matter, you butthurt?" are also trolling/flaming.
  26. c.      this also applies to mods who disagree with another mods call
  27. i.      Disagreements between mods should be politely settled in mod chat.

  30. 5)      no foul or offensive language
  31. a.       covers basically anything rude, crude, perverted, or otherwise offensive
  32. i.      Can include rape, loli, and pedo references as well as sexual advances or anything that offends people
  33. ii.     context is king!!!!
  34. 1.      look at the context of the conversation before deciding what to warn or delete, not just the one like. If you’re modding you should know what the convo is about.
  35. iii.    Examples
  36. 1.      *totally serious* I f***ed a dog yesterday. She liked it.  offensive.
  37. 2.      LOLZ guyz I keep dead babies in my closet  pretty offensive even if it’s a joke
  38. 3.      OMG my boobs are so big/small D:  inoffensive
  39. 4.      I’d tap that ;)  inoffensive
  40. 5.      Help, someone glomped me! It’s rape! Dx  offensive because the word rape can trigger flashbacks. Discourage its use.
  41. 6.      I wonder if (person) has tiling or carpeting down there. If you know what I mean.  offensive.
  42. 7.      *faps to a pic of (a person)*  pretty borderline, allowable.
  43. 8.      *jizzes all over (person)*  pretty borderline, offensive.
  44. 6)      no outside links & links to other chats
  45. a.      applies to advertisements, links to porn sites, links to other anime sites, other chats, and anything which would break another rule (racist or hate pages)
  46. b.      Does not apply to pics, mp3s, and youtube vids that don’t break any rules
  47. c.      ads and links for other chats and anime sites are an exception to the 3 warning rule and only get one warning and immediate deletion.
  48. 7)       no flooding/spamming
  49. a.      this rule basically depends on how fast chat is going
  50. i.      when chat is fast it gets annoying when

  61. First offense Banning Time Spans
  62. Repeat offenses can and should be up to twice as long. Offenses not mentioned in the examples may fall on or between the max and min depending on their severity.
  63. To deal with multiple infractions add the times together.
  64. Spam:
  65. Min: 1 hour
  66.  for spam that does not break any other rules
  67.                 Ex.
  68.         [5:56:45 PM] Susanoo TheMighty: cheese
  69. [5:56:46 PM] Susanoo TheMighty: cheese
  70. [5:56:48 PM] Susanoo TheMighty: cheese
  71. Etc.
  72. Max: 1 week
  73. for spam advertising other websites or containing porn. Note: spam advertisements or porn only require 1 warning before ban

  75. respect all members:
  76.         Min: 12 hours.
  77.                 Includes juvenile comments and talking down to someone
  78.                 Ex. “Oh, Gee, I’d love to understand what you’re saying but I don’t speak idiotnese.”
  79.         Max: 48 hours
  80.                 Includes malicious attacks and threats.
  81. Ex. "You're a f***ing wh**!! Go die because if you have babies they'll be as stupid and ugly as you, I'm going to come kill you!!’
  82.  
  83. Spoilers:
  84. Min: 1 hour
  85.         Includes little spoilers.
  86. Max: 4 hours
  87.         Includes huge game-changing spoilers.
  88. Note: If you’re not sure how big a spoiler it is, try gauging other people in the chat’s reaction.
  89. no offensive material:
  90. min: 1 day
  91.         Pics showing minimal nudity, close ups of covered butts, etc.
  92. Max: 1 week
  93.         Pictures showing gentiles or people engaging in intercourse or other sexual activities.
  94.         Also includes inappropriate pictures of underage subjects.
  95. keep conflict to minimum:
  96. Min: 1 day
  97.         Petty arguments and squabbles
  98. Max: 2 days
  99.         Arguments that are extremely heated, verbal abuse is rampant on both sides
  100. offensive language:
  101.         Min: 18 hours
  102.                 Objectionable jokes, sexual advances
  103.         Max: 4 days
  104. Full on cybering in chat. Includes explicit and detailed explanation of what the person is doing to the other person.
  105. *humps random person* and the like do not fall under full on cybering.
  106. no other chat links:  (mostly applies to people who haven’t been here before, you can be more lax with people who you know are here to talk)
  107. Min/Max: 1 week
  108. Note: Person gets 1 warning then ban. Second offence is permaban.

  110. Updates to mod code:
  111. Mods are expected to act professionally even in mod chat. If you will not be on to unban someone within a reasonable amount of time when they are supposed to be unbanned, please ask someone to unban for you. Do this in the mod chat so that if there are any disputes we have a record. Do not accept someone’s request to unban someone outside of modchat except under special circumstances (like one of you can’t get on skype.) In that case, do it in the main chat with a 3rd party willing to vouch that the request was made.
  112. Otherwise, do not unban anyone else’s ban.
