Day 4 Novelember

Two weeks have passed since I started my last year of highschool.

I wake up with sunlight beaming on my face, I should really get some curtains. What time is it anyways I didn’t hear the alarm clock. I look at it to check what time it is. It’s seven thirty two. Shiiiiiiiiit. Aya must be waiting outside by now. I quickly get up and look out the window. Aya is standing in front of the house with an impatient look on her face. She sees me and shouts.

“Hurry up, we’re going to be late!”

“Just give me a minute, I’ll be down right away.”

I quickly put on my uniform, brush my teeth and try to put my hair down at the same time. No time for breakfast so I just throw a bunch of old doughnuts in a bag and off I go.

“Eheh, sorry about that.”

“Geez, and here I thought you were more responsible than Yoko.”

Ouch, that one hurt a little.

“Come on, this was my first sleeping in. It’s not I do it every day.”

Aya is still sulking a little as we begin to walk. I take the first donut from the bag and take a big bite out of it. Yuck, it’s chewy, I don’t even remember when I bought these. Well it’s better than going hungry all morning.

While I’m chewing on these excessively stale doughnuts, Aya is trying to discreetly look at my bag.

“Do you want one? They’re kinda old.” I asked

“No thanks I’m fine really.”

*growl*

Aya’s stomach emits a loud sound, and her face turns red with embarrassment. I reluctantly give her a doughnut. She doesn’t refuse it this time.

“T-thank you.” She said still looking a little embarrassed.

She then proceeds to take very small bite off the doughnut. She is very cute eating. Actually I’ve noticed that she’s very cute no matter what she doing.

She seems to be enjoying it at least. I hope she doesn’t get sick because of it.

We arrive at the meeting place with Yoko and as always she is late.

“See she isn’t even here yet.” I said

“That doesn’t mean you should follow her example.”

A very true statement that leaves me without an answer.

Yoko finally arrives and we go to school, picking up the other trio on the way.

On the first class break I’m on the way to their class room when I find Karen exiting her own classroom.

“Hi”

“Hello. Are you going to see Ayaya? She’s busy studying desu~”

What? How did she know?

“W-w-what it’s not like I’m going there just to see her.”

Why am I sounding like a tsundere too?

“Ehehe, suuuure.” She says with a face that tells me she didn’t believe a word I said.

“You like Ayaya!”

Damn this girl is sharper than she looks. And she just shouted that in the middle of the hallway.

“Shhhhhhhhh, not so loud.”

“So it’s true desu~”

My cover has been blown. No point in hiding it anymore.

“*sigh* is it that obvious.”

“Yes!” she says enthusiastically

Her cheerfulness isn’t helping so much right now. We walk into her classroom to continue talking about this more calmly. We both sit down at a desk.

“Please don’t tell anyone.”

Though I think Yoko already suspects there’s something going on.

“Don’t worry desu~. Your secret is safe with me.”

“Thanks.”

“So, how are things going with Ayaya?”

“Well, we’ve been getting closer lately, I consider us close friends already but I don’t know how to get past this point. I mean I like how things are right now but I’d like us to be more than friends. But how am I supposed to take it to the next level, how do I make this friendship into something more romantic. I don’t what more I can do …”

I suddenly find myself dumping all my thoughts onto Karen. I’ve been building all of this up for the last days, I guess I needed to talk to someone about it. Maybe it’s not so bad that she found out.

“It’s OK desu~. I’ll help you.” Karen said confidently “You just need to know how to get into a girl’s heart.”

“And how is that?”

“No idea desu~”

Wasn’t she going to help me?

“Oh there’s Karen.”

We hear Shino’s voice coming from the entrance of the classroom, by her side also comes Aya.

“Oh, weren’t you two studying desu~” Karen asked

“Yes, and we’re having a study party tomorrow at Shino’s house. We were wondering if you wanted to come.” Said Aya

“Sure desu~. Can Anon come too?”

What? Where did that come from?

“But he’s two years ahead of us? Are you sure you want to come?”

“I wouldn’t want to intr...” I am abruptly interrupted by Karen

“Of course he does!”

Looks like I have no say in this.

“It fine, the more the merrier.” Says Shino smiling like always.

“Alright then, we’ll start studying at midday so try to be there a little earlier.”

“O-ok.” I said

Can’t really say no at this point. Not that Karen would let me anyways.

Aya and Shino go back to their classroom

“Why did you say all of that?” I asked Karen

“Because I said I’d help you desu~”

I’m thankful she wants to help but I’m not sure if this is the best way to do it.

It’ll be fine, it’s just a study party desu~”

The bell rings after that and we go back to classes.

I’m a little nervous this is the first time we see each other without our uniforms. I should wear something a little nicer than usual to make a good first impression. Too bad all my clothes look the same. All I have is two pairs of jeans and a bunch of different black t-shirts.

After I get dressed I leave my house and for Shino's place. I have a few directions Yoko gave me yesterday, so I don't have much trouble finding the house and get there at around eleven.

I ring the bell and Shino opens the door. She's wearing some sort of weird maid dress.

"Welcome, Anon. Come on up we're having tea." She said cheerfully.

I follow her onto her room where the rest of the girls are. Looks like I was the last one to arrive. They're sitting around a table.

There's one girl one each side of the table. Shino as expected seats next to Alice.

Karen looks at me and then at Aya, signaling me to seat next to her. I silently oblige and seat by her right side.

This table is smaller than I thought. I'm seating very closely to her, but she doesn't seem to mind.

"So, Anon are you behind on your classes as well." Asked Aya.

Behind is a big understatement.

"Yes, I'm having trouble with some stuff."

"We'll start studying in an hour then."

In the mean time we drink tea and talk about school stuff. Can't really say I like tea but it would be rude to refuse, so I slowly drink one cup so I don't get offered more.

After an hour has passed we start studying. I get a book too to pretend I'm studying as well.

On the other hand they're all focused on their work.

Yoko, who is seating to my left, doesn't something and asks Aya for help, since she's the smart one. Aya leans to write a few things on Yoko's notebook. When she's busy explaining, her twintail is slightly grazing on my face and tickling my nose. I'd say something but I admit I am enjoying the experience. Her hair has the sweetest scent, it has the softest texture, these twintails that first caught my sight are now catching my other senses as well.

Unfortunately Yoko doesn't take long to understand the problem and Aya quickly returns to her normal position.

Things are quiet for a bit but it's now Shino who has a question. She looks at Aya but she's already explaining something to Karen, Alice seems to have dozed off and Yoko is still having problems of her own. Being the last option left Shino is now looking at me wondering if it's a good idea to ask me whatever she wants to know. She stares at me for quite a while until she suddenly gets up and says.

"I'll ask Onee-chan!" and exits the room.

I'm kinda relieved with this outcome but also a little disappointed that she thinks I couldn't help her. Well, I can't blame her, she was probably right.

"Onee-chan?" I asked

It's first time I'm hearing about Shino having a sister.

"Oh you didn't know? She has an older sister called Isami. She's a fashion model." Said Yoko.

"You didn’t meet her on the way up here?" Aya asked

"No, I must have missed her."

With that out of the way we resume our studies.

A good twenty minutes have passed and Shino isn't back yet.

"What's taking Shino so long? I better check up on her."

And so Yoko leaves the room to look for her. She slams the door hard on the way out and wakes up the sleeping Alice.

“Uh? I must have dozed off … I need to go to the bathroom.” Said Alice with a drowsy tone.

“Oh, I’ll go with you desu~.” Karen said excited.

And off they go as well leaving me in the room alone with Aya. At least Karen gave me an “encouraging” thumbs up, but as always this one only seems to make me more nervous.

Me and Aya look at each other realizing we’re by ourselves now. There’s awkwardness in the air. The only times we’re alone is on our daily walk home but the feeling is different when we’re alone in a room.

Karen gave me this chance so I could get closer to Aya, I can’t waste this opportunity. I only have time until one of the girls come back, so I gotta make it fast.

“Say Aya.”

“Hm?”

“Are you doing anything after this?”

“Not really. I’ll probably just go home. Why?”

 “I-I was thinking that m-maybe we could go somewhere later, i-if you’d like.” Oof, managed to say it.

She’s blushing a lot as expected of her.

“O-ok, where do you want to go.” She asked nervously.

“Well there’s a nice park down the road, or we could go watch a movie maybe.”

“Sure that’s sounds fun.” Says Aya still with her cheeks red

Did I just get a date? I’m pretty sure I did? Well it feels like it's going to be a date at least.

I almost can’t believe this is happening, I wasn’t expecting this so soon. I haven’t been this excited in a long time.

I’ve never been on a date before but I’m not feeling that anxious, most of all I’m just really happy right now.

I can feel that today is going to be a very good day.
