  1. DAO Mods (Awakening included)
  2.
  3.
  4. The general goal of this collection is compatibility, immersion, and (in most cases) preserving the intent of the developers. Exceptions to the latter goal include Tiered Uniques (which makes unique items have stats at least comparable to their non-unique counterparts if not stats more like that of the item's description) or Quick Shapeshifting (which removes the charge-up time for shapeshifting, to reflect the instantaneous transformations seen in cutscenes).
  5.
  6.
  7. Of note, apparently DAO chooses its mod "load order" based upon the names of the folders in its Override Folder. Just FYI.
  8.
  9.
  10. Mods which require you to choose between them:
  11. # Body proportions: Proportions Fix series (underwear) vs Realistic Look (nude).
  12. # Shapeshifter tweaks: Quick Shapeshifing (just quicker than normal) vs Shapeshifting Plus (adds Dragon morph and provides a quick option).
  13. # Improved Atmosphere vs... a lot. You can delete portions of that mod to make things compatible. ZDF Dialog Fix details this.
  14. # Advanced Tactics vs. Smarter Party AI. They can be used together with risk of breaking combat AI, or you can choose one. Smarter Party
  15. AI is marginally more realistic and creates a nice-looking fight to say the least, but Advanced Tactics is more customizable.
  16.

  19.
  20. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO INSTALL IMPROVED ATMOSPHERE FIRST, FOLLOWED BY TWEAKING ZDF DIALOG FIX TO BE COMPATIBLE WITH WHATEVER OTHER DIALOG
  21. MODS YOU'D LIKE TO USE. COMBAT\RULE MODS SHOULD FOLLOW THIS AND THEN ANYTHING ELSE YOU LIKE. READ IMPROVED ATMOSPHERE'S README!!!!!!!!!!

  159. 5) Paste the copied .erfs into that folder.
  160. 6) Find the equivalent of your Program Files\Dragon Age\packages\core_ep1 directory.

  174.
  175. Awakening Runes Fixes (DWE HAL CIR SIL to Weapon version)

  220.
  221. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
  222.
  223. After installing the mod with daupdater or DAModder, open the file:
  224. ..Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Settings\DragonAge.ini
  225.
  226. At the end of the file, add the following lines(sample):
  227. [Bodahn]
  228. SellMarkUp=100
  229. BuyMarkDown=50
  230. Mats=BASE
  231.
  232. SellMarkUp is the markup when Bodahn sells you things, and BuyMarkDown is the markdown when Bodahn buy things from you. If you don't set
  233. the options, it will be defaulted to 100 and 50, like in previous versions.
  234.
  235. For the Mats field, you can set it to:
  236. NONE - will not restock anything he doesn't already sell (does nothing)
  237. BASE - will restock Deathroot, Elfroot, Lyrium Dust. Deep Mushroom, Trap Trigger, and Venom
  238. METALSHARD - will restock everything in base + Metal Shard
  239. ALL - above plus Glamour Charm, Demonic Ichor, and all elemental Crystals
  240.
  241. Default is set to BASE if no option set.
  242.
  243. Another sample setup could be:
  244. [Bodahn]
  245. SellMarkUp=0
  246. BuyMarkDown=500
  247. Mats=ALL
  248.

  260.
  261. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  262.
  263. Ceremonial Heavy Glove Fix

  266.
  267. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  274.

  278.
  279. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
  280.
  281. Requires that Kirkwall Exports be installed.
  282.
  283. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  284.
  285. Chevalier Armor Set Bonus Change
  286. Makes this armor give +3 to Willpower rather than the -3 Willpower it usually gives. Not clear if this is a mistake or not.
  287. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1199
  288.
  289. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  290.

  294.
  295. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  296.
  297. Combat Delay Reduction DAO and DAA
  298. Makes combat not go as slowly in "animation heavy" areas by telling the game not to "loop" the default standing animation. Odd oversight
  299. on the part of developers but this definitely makes combat run much smoother in populated areas.
  300. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3322
  301.
  302. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  303.

  306. http://social.bioware.com/project/4802/
  307.
  308. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  309.
  310. Cousland Family Resemblance

  313. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=937
  314.
  315. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  316.
  317. Critical Hit Chance Quickfix
  318. Gives the Warden the same base critical hit chance (3%) as every other character in the game. You began with no chance at all before.
  319. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=433
  320.
  321. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  326.
  327. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
  328.
  329. Possible that Dialogue Tweaks has a conflict, though I can't find it myself. For this reason, these are the files edited
  330. by this mod (Dialogue Tweaks' versions of these files ought to be deleted).
  331. bhm400_irving.dlg and .dlb
  332. bhm300_cullen.dlg and .dlb
  333. arl210cr_jowan.dlg and .dlb
  334. cir230_cullen.dlg and .dlb
  335. plt_bhm00pt_main.plo and .nss
  336.
  337. Very likely conflicts with the Dalish Mage Dialogue Fix above.
  338.
  339. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  340.
  341. DA Gore Adjustment
  342. Alters the level of blood splatter on characters in the game.
  343. http://social.bioware.com/project/2416/

  346.
  347. DA2 Isabela and Flemeth to DAO (fixed version)
  348. Makes Isabela and Flemeth look like they do in Dragon Age II.
  349. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=2636

  363. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  364.
  365. Daisycutter Model Change
  366. Makes the Daisycutter weapon in Awakening have an appearance reflecting the fact that it's a one-handed axe.
  367. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1323#
  368.
  369. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  370.
  371. Dalish Concept Tattoo
  372. This is the tattoo seen on the Dalish Origin concept artwork. It'll need to be added to your Warden via the Toolset if you want it.
  373. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1730
  374.
  375. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  376.
  377. Dalish Mage Dialogue Fix
  378. Very likely to conflict with dialogue tweaks to the members of the Mages' Circle but nevertheless if you're using the Dalish Mage Origin
  379. mod then this dialogue fix is for you. Should fix most issues of people "recognizing" you from a childhood\adulthood you didn't have.
  380. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=2571
  381.
  382. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
  383.
  384. As stated, will probably conflict with some dialogue mods that affect members of the Circle.
  385.
  386. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  387.
  388. Dalish Mage - Origin
  389. Enables you to be a Dalish Mage, albeit with a few issues here and there where people think you grew up as part of the Circle, which may
  390. not actually be a "bug" in some cases (you could well be a city elf, so far as people are concerned). Lore-wise, each Dalish clan usually
  391. only has two mages, the Keeper and their First, but when an extra emerges they are ultimately "traded off" to another clan that needs a
  392. First. If you need a backstory for who you are, you're an extra mage that hasn't been "traded off" yet.
  393. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=764
  394.
  395. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
  396.
  397. See above for a dialogue fix mod, to address a few of the issues where people "recognize" you as a "Mage Origin" warden.
  398.
  399. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  400.
  401. DAQuest: The Master's Desire
  402. A stand-alone campaign that attempts to recreate the feel of old adventure games in the Dragon Age setting.
  403. http://social.bioware.com/project/1377/
  404.
  405. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
  406.
  407. This mod's "sleuth" system may cause issues when playing any other campaign, so best to only have this installed when you mean to play it.
  408.
  409. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  410.
  411. Dark Ritual Deleted Scene
  412. "Restores" a scene between Alistair and Morrigan that was cut from the final version of the game. Depicted in the "Dragon Age: Revelation" comic.
  413. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1611
  414.
  415. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  416.
  417. Desire Demon Nudepatch
  418. Makes the Desire Demon topless, reflecting more of the basic "lust" theme there.
  419. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=96
  420.
  421. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  422.
  423. Deathblow (forced deathblow file removed, weapon stat rebalancing removed, author's music album removed, armor rune fix applied)
  424. Adds quite a few variations on deathblows (including gory decapitations) for all weapon combinations.
  425. http://social.bioware.com/project/4188/#details
  426.
  427. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  428.
  429. Deathblow Multipliers
  430. Makes deathblow animations as frequent or infrequent as you like, or only allows them for bosses.
  431. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1613
  432.
  433. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  686. disease vanish if you end the curse, but the full effect of the disease, described above, comes into play if you allow it to continue.

  879. mods. Shouldn't be an issue though if you make sure to use the Ser Gilmore versions of mods.
  880.
  881. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  882.
  883. Ser Gilmore and Dog companions in Awakening - Fully Voiced
  884. Brings Ser Gilmore *and* your Marbari warhound over into the Awakening expansion, accounting for whether or not you had previously met
  885. either of them in Origins.
  886. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3210
  887.
  888. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
  889.
  890. Requires that the main Ser Gilmore mod be installed as well.
  891.
  892. Should *only* be activated when you're playing Awakening. Author also recommends you deactivate\uninstall any mods which are intended
  893. for Awakening while playing Origins and vice versa.
  894.
  895. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  896.
  897. Shapeshifter Plus (Normal and Instantaneous Transformation versions)
  898. Allows a Master-level shapeshifter to transform into a dragon like Flemeth and makes all shapeshifter forms level along with the user of
  899. those spells, along with a few balancing tweaks to make each form have clearer pros and cons.

  901.
  902. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  903.
  904. Shield Scale Mod
  905. Scales the size of shields to be a tad more realistic (bucklers that aren't the size of a tower shield, etc).
  906. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1714
  907.
  908. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  909.
  910. Sigrun's Roguish Past & Law and Order Fix
  911. Keeps Mischa from vanishing after the Law and Order Quest, allowing you more time to do Sigrun's personal quest.
  912. http://social.bioware.com/project/3129
  913.
  914. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  915.
  916. Shadow Wardens Armor (Store version)
  917. A "dark" variation on Duncan's armor, as a younger Duncan is described wearing in "The Calling" novel. Bought from Bodahn in camp.
  918. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=215
  919.
  920. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  921.
  922. Sleeping Tent in Party Camp
  923. Adds a tent for the Warden themselves in camp. Nothing more than eye candy.
  924. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=735#
  925.
  926. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  927.
  928. Smarter Party DAO and DAA
  929. Changes NPC AI so that ranged fighters, in particular, will avoid melee combat and area effect damage.
  930. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3153
  931.
  932. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
  933.
  934. Will definitely conflict a little with Advanced Tactics but does most of what it does anyway. It's just not as customizable.
  935.
  936. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  937.
  938. Statistics Fix - Bosses Killed
  939. Makes the game accurately keep track of how many bosses you've killed.
  940. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=194
  941.
  942. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  943.
  944. Templars of Ferelden - Armors
  945. Gives all Templars their armor from Dragon Age II (Captains wear the armor you see Templar Captain Meredith in).
  946. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3256
  947.
  948. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  949.
  950. Tiered Uniques
  951. Makes many of the unique items in the game have statistics similar or better than their non-unique counterparts, regardless of when they
  952. can be found in-game. This holds up considering their descriptions in the Codex.
  953. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=42
  954.

  956.
  957. Improved Atmosphere addresses some incompatibilities in its readme file.
  958.
  959. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  960.
  961. The Broken City
  962. Sequel to "Fragments of Ferelden," this quest mod also ties up loose ends from "Dirge of Coldhearth."
  963. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=2089
  964.
  965. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  966.
  967. The Carrion Birds
  968. A quest mod following the conclusion of the Origins campaign. Very polished.
  969. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1910
  970.
  971. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
  972.
  973. Some are suggesting that this campaign has affected the official campaigns on their systems. For this reason it's recommended not to keep
  974. this mod active while you play the main game and vice versa.
  975.
  976. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  977.
  978. True Dalish 1-2
  979. Adds more atmosphere to the Dalish by giving them more tattoos, armor and equipment where they had none, etc. Fantastic mod.
  980. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1932
  981.
  982. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
  983.
  984. *May* conflict with Improved Atmosphere's Dalish camp files, but that's easily resolved by deleting any duplicate files first if you're
  985. using Improved Atmosphere. You'll want to look for .utc files (these determine what an NPC is wearing on their person). Should be noted
  986. that the maker of True Dalish and other players report they're using these mods together without significant issues.
  987.
  988. Probably will conflict with the Merrill\Marethari DA2 mod, but again the conflicting files in this mod can be deleted as necessary.
  989.
  990. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  991.
  992. Tucked Hair
  993. Adds "tucked" versions of several vanilla hairstyles to the game.
  994. http://social.bioware.com/project/2595/
  995.
  996. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
  997.
  998. Combine with More Hairstyles, etc in the Chargen Morph Compiler if you want to be able to use several hair\eye\makeup mods at once.
  999. NPCs should still be able to access these hairs regardless, however.
  1000.
  1001. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1002.
  1003. Uncapped Elemental Damage Bonus
1004. Allows you- and enemies- to stack elemental damage past 30%, allowing you to make use of items which claim to add more elemental damage
1005. than this cap would otherwise actually allow.
  1006. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1544
  1007.
  1008. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1009.
  1010. Universal Voices
1011. Makes all voicesets be available to a character from any race, with "low" voices being Dwarves' and "high" voices being Elves'.
  1012. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1512
  1013.
  1014. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1015.
  1016. Unlock All Achievements
1017. Does exactly what the title of the mod suggests.
  1018. http://social.bioware.com/project/524/
  1019.
  1020. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1021.
  1022. Vigilance-Starfang Fix
1023. Fixes Vigilance's graphics in Awakening so that it doesn't share Starfang's graphics if the Warden's Keep DLC is installed.
  1024. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=874
  1025.
  1026. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1027.
  1028. Warden Armour Textures
1029. Texture pack for "Grey Wardens of Ferelden" that gives the Warden armor a brown pattern rather than a blue one like in the Warden's Calling
1030. trailer. This may reflect Ferelden's Grey Warden colors, with blue being those of the Free Marshes and Kirkwall.
  1031. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3304
  1032.
  1033. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
  1034.
1035. Naturally requires Grey Wardens of Ferelden, and subsequently Kirkwall Exports.
  1036.
  1037. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1038.
  1039. Warden Shields
1040. Makes the Grey Warden shields seen in the Warden's Calling and Sacred Ashes trailers available for purchase in camp.
  1041. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=671
  1042.
  1043. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1044.
  1045. Weapon VFX Remover
1046. Removes the visual effects of natturally-enchanted or rune-enchanted weapons. The idea is that only spell-enchanted weapons would have,
1047. say, fire clinging to them (because the element had been cast onto the weapon).

  1049.
  1050. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
  1051.
1052. There's one of these in Improved Atmosphere too. You've got to choose between the two.
  1053.
  1054. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1055.
  1056. ZevRing
1057. Turns the earring Zevran might give you into an actual accessory you can equip and use, sort of like Morrigan's ring.
  1058. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=865#
  1059.
  1060. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
  1061.
1062. Has some compatiblity issues with ZDF Dialog Fix, but information on how to fix these can be found in the notes for that mod.
  1063.
  1064. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1065.
  1066.
1067. THAT'S ALL FOR NOW. KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THE RELEASE OF "THE HIDDEN CIRCLE," WHICH LOOKS PHENOMENAL AND TIES IN WITH DRAGON AGE II.
