Resilient Session 11

ResilientGM	The bodies of the Prithians of Altmann Squad are laid outside, and their tags are collected. Vorgen dutifully scans frequencies as he was ordered, while the men of Altmann Squad get acquainted with your comrades.
	ResilientGM	Gilliam adds the details on the tags to a form.
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Remember to take their ammo and weaponry. Wouldn't want the enemy or civilians running around with those."
	ResilientGM	"Yes, sergeant."
	ResilientGM	Laski: "So, sarge... you figure I'll be able to get some action with these babies today?" he asks, while balancing his chainsword.
	Willus	There is a strange scratching, and the soft screech of feedback across the vox network. Soon after, there is some indistinct grumbling coming over the channel. Sounds like somebody is having a bit of trouble with their microbead.
	ResilientGM	Vorgen: "Sergeant, I think I've got something on the Vox."
	ResilientGM	Vorgen looks down at his chrono and marks down the time on a scrap of paper, and circles the frequency from the list he was given earlier.
	ResilientGM	Vorgen: "Should be Jaegers."
	Willus	"...++Is zis thing on? Or off? Come in, come in, come in Kameraden. Zis is Private Willus Wowereit...Come in!++ more shuffling and grumbling. "++Jowalis, is this thing off?++"
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Maybe, but don't go charging into enemy fire for i-" He then focuses on Vorgen for a moment. "See if you can patch me through."
	ResilientGM	Vorgen: "You're in, Sergeant."
	Willus	's accent is clearly thick and completely bereft of grace or sibilance. The vox distortion makes it even worse.
	Mathias_Ferrus	"This is Sergeant Ferrus, we read you loud and clear, Private. What can my squad do for you?"
	ResilientGM	Laski: "Hey, cogboy! Ya think I could cut through a wall of rock-crete with it?"
	Willus	"+++Ehhh....Commander-officer gave me your vox-magic codes, herr sergeant. I am to join up with youz, hunt down a 'ghost' that calls itself Waldemar Szieny. Emperor Villing, I will link up wit youz soon.++"
	Willus	"++Praytell, herr sergaent, what are you locations?++"
	Gru_Persay	"Short Answer: No. Long Answer: No, stupid."
	ResilientGM	Gilliam: "Sergeant... bear in mind that I've packed extra sedatives, if /need/ be" he says, looking intently at the young trooper.
	Mathias_Ferrus	"+++Understood.+++" He then gives the totally precise and easy to follow directions to their position.
	Willus	moves out, his grumpy companion keeping close behind.
	Animus	stands up and walks to the group
	Gru_Persay	follows with his servitors.
	ResilientGM	Gilliam: "Butcher's bill, sergeant," he hands you the list of the dead.
	ResilientGM	He takes a sip from that now-infamous bottle of self-medicated "medicine".
	Mathias_Ferrus	gives it a quick look before pocketing the list. "That better be water you are drinking, or we'll have a long talk when we get back to camp, paperwork might even be involved." He lightly threatens as he leads the way to their objective.
	ResilientGM	Gilliam: "'Paperwork' landed me in honorable service under your command, Sergeant."
	Animus	"Don't take that sass sergeant."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"'Paperwork' also lead to me having this command, just a small reminder."
	ResilientGM	Gilliam: "But of course, your Grace" he gives a slow bow of feigned deference.
	Mathias_Ferrus	drops the issue for the time being.
	ResilientGM	Gilliam picks up and dusts off the deceased medic's kit.
	ResilientGM	You advance through several buildings, and reach a heavily damaged central square with the remains of a bronze statue of one Saint or another, and two destroyed Chimera hulls, one still burning.
	Animus	"Seems like a party."
	Mathias_Ferrus	points at one of the buildings. "Let's clear it out and take cover in there. What messed up those Chimeras might still be nearby."
	ResilientGM	(Animus) You can hear the chortling of someone on the building on the opposite side of the Chimeras.
	Animus	"I hear someone in the building on the opposite side of the Chimeras."
	Gru_Persay	makes the sign of Omnissiah and chants in binary.
	ResilientGM	Laski takes off in front of the formation towards one of the Chimera hulls.
	Mathias_Ferrus	rushes for the building he had pointed out earlier. "Take cover and aim at that building, keep your eyes open." He speaks once he had taken cover. "+++Private Willus, what is your current location?+++"
	Animus	finds cover
	Willus	taps the commbead three times.
	Gru_Persay	finds cover behind the Chimera with his servitors at his sides.
	Animus	+Don't worry Sergeant, i'm with you."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"+++Persay, Laski, what do you two think you are bloody doing?+++"
	ResilientGM	You hear the sound of a grenade echo off to the West.
	Gru_Persay	is regretting his decision to hide behind a Chimera.
	ResilientGM	Instantly, the men inside the building make their presence clear to you all. Shouts and calls echo from inside, and you can clearly hear their movement.
	Gru_Persay	+I have made a terrible decision.+
	Animus	shouts" Himmel?"
	ResilientGM	Suddenly, the calls from inside the building go silent.
	Animus	+Shit.+
	ResilientGM	Autocannon fire busts from one of the central buildings.
	ResilientGM	Lasgun fire follows closely after.
	ResilientGM	An entire second floor is lit up by the enemy fire.
	Mathias_Ferrus	tries to figure out where all the enemy fire is coming from. "What's going on with those guns?"
	Willus	"++Komraden! Come in! We have made contact with the enemiez! I say it again, we have made contact!"
	ResilientGM	The fire is coming from the single building on the other side of the Chimeras. They are clearly blind firing, but your squad will have to take cover, as some of the rounds begin to hit closer to your location.
	Mathias_Ferrus	takes a smoke grenade. "Alright. Fireteam Altmann, we are going to deploy smoke, once that's done, I want supressing fire on that building. Everyone else will follow me to those Chimeras." "+++Persay, Laski, we will try to supress the enemy building. As soon as we start firing, I want you two to flank them, the rest of the squad will be behind you soon enough.+++" He then throws a
	Mathias_Ferrus	grenade, trying to obscure the way to the Chimeras. "Light them up!"
	Gru_Persay	+Understood.+
	ResilientGM	+Understood, Sergeant+ The fireteam opens fire, and three smoke grenades are deployed.
	Mathias_Ferrus	then leads the rest of the squad towards the Chimeras.
	ResilientGM	Laski: +Moving up!+
	Animus	+Sure.+

	ResilientGM	The enemy autocannon, then follows the concentrated fire of nearby infantry, training its sights on the advancing squad segment. Privates Laski and Zain lead the advance, and are both turned into pulp and gore not 4 meters from Gru, Animus, and the rest.
	Animus	continues to run
	Gru_Persay	says +Feck+ and continues towards the left of Chimera.
	Willus	"++Komaraden, vat is yer status? I hear fire shots.++"
	Mathias_Ferrus	is somewhat shocked by the sight of his two subordinates getting shot to bits but he doesn't have the luxury of hesitating for the time being. He leads the squad in a flanking maneuver.
	Animus	prepares to start spreading fire
	Gru_Persay	gets shot from the adjacent building. He shakes off the shot and says +Enemies in the building on the left.+
	ResilientGM	A blast goes off on the second floor of the adjacent building from which the techpriest took fire.
	Mathias_Ferrus	"That should gives us the time we need, now make a hole on that wall!"
	Gru_Persay	commands his servitors towards the wall.
	Mathias_Ferrus	gets near the wall and prepares for a breach.
	Gru_Persay	moves forwards and commands his servitors to tear down the wall.
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Alright, time to use kraks."
	Mathias_Ferrus	orders the rest of the squad to also join in with their grenades before moving away from the blast.
	ResilientGM	The squad moves up on your position, and the guardsmen cough up 4 grenades total.
	ResilientGM	"How many, Sarge?"
	ResilientGM	Across the opening, Fireteam Altmann continues exchanging fire with the enemy position.
	Mathias_Ferrus	"2 and one of mine should do the trick, hand them over."
	Mathias_Ferrus	then quickly sets them up.
	ResilientGM	++Squad Ferrus, be advised. Target of opportunity spotted in your area of operations. Details to follow.++
	ResilientGM	As you set up the explosives, your squad finds cover away from the blast area.
	ResilientGM	+Sergeant Ferrus, Fireteam Altmann here. We're taking heavy fire. Must relocate!+
	Mathias_Ferrus	pulls the pins once he put them in a position he felt good about, quickly running to his squad. "+++Understood, move to better cover and hold your position until further orders.+++"
	ResilientGM	A few seconds go by, and the grenades go off with deafening concussive force.
	ResilientGM	From what you can initially see, the hole must be about a meter long, horizontally, and just about a quarter meter thick.
	Animus	"Could of been bigger."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Yeah... maybe they'll think we called arty. Crap, let's just see if we can get in through the back."
	Gru_Persay	"Agreed."
	Animus	"Plan B it is
	Animus	."
	Mathias_Ferrus	leads the squad towards the back, he's supper bummed out.
	Animus	follows
	ResilientGM	(Mathias) As you move away from the blast, you hear behind you, pieces of rubble falling to the ground. At first just a few pieces. Then, a few more.
	Mathias_Ferrus	turns around and looks at what he assumes is the crumbling wall. "Yes! Alright, I want those servitors to bring it down. Once we have a big enough hole, frag and clear!"
	ResilientGM	A metal beam is audibly strained and snaps, then giving way to the weight of the wall.
	ResilientGM	The wall then begins to collapse at an alarming rate, several of your men having to quickly move out of the way to avoid getting hit by debris.
	Mathias_Ferrus	readies a frag, making sure to stay away from the debris.
	Animus	prepares to cast powers
	ResilientGM	Koeln: "Shit, here we go..." he comments, noticing the Psyker.
	Gru_Persay	readies his autogun, He commands combat servitor and Punchy to follow at his sides.
	ResilientGM	The servitors stand near their master, ready for commands.
	Willus	rushes to the window and looks down at the breaching squad. His eyes light up in surprise
	Willus	"Guten tag, mein kamaraden? How farez you?"
	Animus	"Pretty well, and yourself?"
	ResilientGM	Jowalis: "Was... zum Teuffel?!"
	ResilientGM	Jowalis: "Psyker?! They are pairing US with that /thing/?!!"
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Not the time for this!" He then throws a grenade into the hole.
	Willus	grumbles. "We vill have words, herr sergeant. Stay there, ve shall be there in two winks of a bech."
	ResilientGM	Jowalis: "Wowereit, why is the Captain punishing us so?" he asks on the way down the stairs.
	ResilientGM	The grenade goes off inside.
	Mathias_Ferrus	moves into the building, scanning for targets with his lasgun.
	Animus	follows him
	Gru_Persay	follows the rest of the group.
	ResilientGM	The first floor, as far as you are able to tell, is clear.
	ResilientGM	The autocannon is audible from the floor above you.
	Animus	"Upstairs we go?"
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Upstairs it is."
	Gru_Persay	"Understood."
	Willus	steps through the breach. "Takign orders from a witch, herr sergeant? Shameful."
	Animus	"That accent is shameful."
	Animus	"But besides that point, we have hostiles."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Not now! Just head upstairs and keep and eye out for hostiles!"

	Animus	"Let me scan upstairs."
	Willus	spits and falls in with the squad. "As soon as these ketler are dead, I will show you how the Hunderbechan deals with witches, cur!"
	Animus	can't hear his because he is being useful
	ResilientGM	The first floor is largely devoid of life, except for a single presence you can feel in a nearby room.
	Animus	him*
	Animus	"There is a presence still on this floor."
	Animus	"Just one I believe."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Alright, let's go check it out real quick and then we head up."
	Animus	heads to the first room on the left and checks inside
	Willus	"I'll take point."
	ResilientGM	The squad stacks up near along the door to the next room awaiting orders.
	Gru_Persay	commands Lungs to breach the second room on the left and neutralize any hostiles.
	Mathias_Ferrus	takes position near the door. "Send punchmeister in first."
	Animus	walks into the first room
	Willus	hugs the wall, preparing to go in. "I shall be his second, and clear the room with him."
	Animus	finding the room empty, leaves
	Animus	groups up with the rest
	Willus	"Was your fool quest fruitful, hexe?" Willus snickers
	Animus	"I can't even understand what you are saying."
	ResilientGM	(Mathias) You can hear from inside calls for help. "...in Diaman Square! Must be company size... we---" he is interrupted by the violent breach of the servitor, which completely unhinges the door.
	Mathias_Ferrus	moves into the room. "Drop your weapons!"
	Willus	"Das correct! Drop your firearms and blades! NOW!"
	Animus	"What they said!"
	ResilientGM	The man raises his hands in the air, dropping the vox on the floor. He steps back against the wall, "No! Wait! Wait!"
	Gru_Persay	"Lungs, Standby."
	Willus	"Save it, Ketler! We shall bleed you, like the Krampusnacht grox!" Willus brandishes his lasgun at the man.
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Somebody turn off that vox! You in command?!" He asks the man who sent the transmission.
	Gru_Persay	commands his combat servitor to guard the halls.
	ResilientGM	"N-no..."
	Gru_Persay	grabs the vox.
	ResilientGM	Vox chatter continues.
	Animus	"Nobody gonna do it?"
	Animus	"Turn it off Gru."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Someone at least listen in! You two, restrain him!" He orders to two of his men before heading upstairs.
	Gru_Persay	mimics static with his voice input and turns it off.
	ResilientGM	The vox operator doesn't put up a fight.
	Animus	follows Mathias
	Willus	grumbles and watches the restrained man, glaring at this monster who shirked the God Emperor's light.
	Animus 	focuses on one of the soldiers upstairs and overpowers his mind, taking control
	Animus	"Everyone get out, I'm going to blow the ammunition."
	Mathias_Ferrus	has the vox operator and his vox grabbed, along with any intel on the way out.
	Animus	leaves the building, still keeping control
	Gru_Persay	leaves the building with his servitors.
	Animus	"Any objections?"
	Gru_Persay	"Just do it."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Small ones but I approved of the plan."
	Willus	looks like he is going to say something, but goes silent. "Clear out, comrades! Clear out!"
	ResilientGM	++Logistics-Major Rillegh and his caravan will be passing along Hab District-24. Exact known coordinates will be relayed. Sergeant, if you think you can make your way to the Hab-District by tomorrow evening, he is yours. Confirm.++
	Mathias_Ferrus	++Bit busy right now, but we'll make it. Stand by for further transmissions.++
	ResilientGM	The Psyker focuses his mind on the Autocannon, and a few seconds later, a series of quick consecutive explosions goes off from the second floor. A massive hole punches through the outside of the building, and the autocannon itself falls outside.
	Willus	flinches. "Unclean magic trickery...it saves us now but will damn us later."
	ResilientGM	While devastating, not all men inside are dead. You can hear the cries of help from at least two of them. The Vox operator you've captured has an expression of horror on his face.
	Animus	"Boom."
	ResilientGM	+Fireteam Altmann here. Are you alright, Sergeant?+
	Animus	"Shall we go finish the job?"
	Mathias_Ferrus	"There's no honor in this..." He mutters to himself. "Let's see what you did." +Yeah, we are still in one piece.+
	ResilientGM	A collapse, then occurs on the floor, and the building expels rubble and a large cloud of dust and small debris.
	Mathias_Ferrus	stands still as the dust cloud washes over him, somewhat in shock.
	ResilientGM	+Enemy appears to have had an accident, Sergeant. We're crossing over to you now.+
	Gru_Persay	"Shall we Investigate the second floor?"
	Animus	"I think we should investigate the rubble
	Animus	."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"No, too dangerous."
	Willus	Willus tugs on his mustache. "Don't play around in the rubble for too long. Jowalis and I must take you to the hab district and I'd rather begin marching now whilst the planet-star is still shining. Also, do you lot have a blut-phasan?"
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Yeah... we'll get going as soon as everyone is accounted for. And we have a what?"
	Willus	leers at Mathias, confused. "You are Prithian, no? How do you not know about blut-phasan?" Then a dire look sets across Willus' weathered features. "Does this mean there are no blut-phasan?"
	ResilientGM	Jowalis: "Heh... Southerners... of course."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"If you mind explaining what it is... I mean, maybe I know it by another name?"
	Willus	"Blut-Phasan. Feathers, talons, two blood red eyes...it is the traditional meal given when a soldier joins a squad, representing comradery unt dedication. A man is not apart of a unit until he has partaken in the blut-phasan."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Yeah, nope, sorry. We just have rations on us. You are welcome to them, if you want."
	ResilientGM	Jowalis: "I rather cook what I can catch myself than the shit they give us."
	Willus	's mouth goes agape. "How dare my superiors dishonor me by doing battle alongside nonkin. This bring incalculable shame to a son of a Warden!"
	ResilientGM	Vorgen: "Sergeant, I have the coordinates. Enemy convoy due to arrive at 22.00hrs"
	ResilientGM	The Vox-Operator consults his map while reading through the coordinates given to him.
	Mathias_Ferrus	nods. "Hey, I feel pretty ashamed about what just happened so that's war for you. Anyways, think we can reach this point by 2200 hours?" He asks while pointing at a spot on the map.
	ResilientGM	The enemy vox operator directs his words to the Sergeant, "I-I am your prisoner now. You are responsible for my safety."
	Mathias_Ferrus	"That depends on how much you cooperate. Who were you talking to?"
	ResilientGM	Vorgen: "If we can get past these positions here," he points to known enemy defenses, "without engaging them we could. Jaegers? Could you get us around them?"
	Willus	nods. "Easily. And kill that prisoner, he vill make these things very difficult for us."
	ResilientGM	Enemy VoxOp: "Master of Ordnance Auldin... No! No, I will cooperate!"
	Willus	draws his shortblade. "You betrayed your Emperor once already, I vink you shall do so again."
	Mathias_Ferrus	quickly draws his laspistol and fires at the captured Vox operator.
	ResilientGM	"We have not betrayed him! It is the Imperium that blasphemes in His name!"
	ResilientGM	Gilliam: "Good riddance. Refreshing competence, Sergeant."
	ResilientGM	He searches for his favorite little flask.
	Mathias_Ferrus	sighs as he holsters his sidearm. "Well, I personally found the first part of this engagement competent on my part. Anyways, we have a caravan to meet."
	Willus	"Herr sergeant, have you and your men stay behind me unt stay very quiet. I vill take you to this caravan."
	ResilientGM	Gilliam: "I can't report the casualties, Sergeant. I'll need the witch's talents if I am to ever find the tags, and I never did bother to learn either of the boys' identities."
	ResilientGM	He takes a sip from his usual choice of refreshment.
	Mathias_Ferrus	"Do it quickly."
