  3. A: No. The Rance series is a very old long-running hentai video game series with a well developed setting, a large variety of characters, fun gameplay, awesome plots, and good music. While much of the time it is comical and makes fun of social atrocities like rape, the games have moments that can inspire awe or rip your heart out.

  9. A: Rance I, Rance II, Rance III, and Sengoku Rance.

  12. A: Sengoku Rance. Rance I and II are nice and all, but out of the completed Rance games, it is the best (since the other two are old as fuck). Sengoku Rance works well as a stand-alone game anyways. Big Bang Age was also made by Alice Soft and is fully translated, but is otherwise unrelated to the Rance series.

  14. Q: What are these "Dark Lords" everyone keeps talking about?
  15. A: They are the official English name of what the translated games call "Demons" as said by Alice Soft. The Rance VI translator decided to use the term Dark Lord instead of Demon, so we are using that term in the general.

  30. You have to mount your disk on your primary drive which either means ripping your files to a disk and using that disk or making your virtual drive your primary drive. Alternatively, you can use a couple of untested sound patches some anon made.

  45. A: Everything made before Rance 5D is freeware, so don't bother paying for those. Mandarake (http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/) is a good place to get stuff cheap, so look there first. If that fails, Amazon Japan (http://www.amazon.co.jp/) is your best bet. You need a middleman service like Big in Japan (http://biginjap.com/) to get them if you live outside of Japan though since Amazon won't ship porn internationally.

  51. Q: How the fuck do I install Sengoku Rance?
  52. A: First, go to the Regional and Languages section of your control panel in order to change the language for non-Unicode programs into Japanese or for older versions of Windows, use Applocale (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13209). The former is more recommended since many Japanese videogames and visual novels don't work with Applocale. Then, use Daemon Tools Lite(http://www.daemon-tools.cc/eng/downloads) to put the .iso file on a virtual drive. If you did it right, a Japanese installation window appears. Close that window and run the patch. It should be self-explanatory from there.

  55. A: Actually listen to Rance's nonsensical rants! Always be at war, conquer quickly, and have sex with beautiful women. If it's your first playthrough, don't worry about getting points. Just have fun conquering JAPAN!

  59. Q: Gigai is raping my commanders! What do?
  60. A: There are three ways to do this.
  61. 1) Send Kentarou if you can. If you can't, then you haven't progressed far enough in the story.
  62. 2) Send Souun (this also character clears Souun)
  63. 3) Send a shitty generic and then do a purple event to plan for how to take Gigai down, then send in Rance the next time he attacks.

  66. Q: My field is empty in Widenyo, help!
  67. A: Go under units and drag them.

  69. Q: How do I pick up ore?
  70. A: Go under the "Kids" menu and pick the treasure collecting kid.

  79. A: Click Advance. Enemies will get stronger, but more treasure will appear. There is a sub-plot and an end-boss of sorts, but the game is infinitely long.

  82. A: They come back in about 5 turns. Hold the line until then!

  84. Q: This dungeon is too hard, how do I-:
  85. A: GRIND!

  88. A: GRIND HARDER! More specifically, rule of thumb is double level for a dungeon unless your A-team is filled to the brim with items. As long as they can one-hit KO an enemy on the floor you are on, you should be fine for any dungeon except for the gimmicky ones. For bosses however, you need to grind to insane levels just to stand a chance.

  91. A: Report it in the thread, making sure it hasn't been reported before. Remember, you can replay summon sequences which is where most of the errors are.

  94. A: There's a SaveData folder in the Widenyo folder. In that, there's a MusicData folder (if not, create one). Put your favorite mp3s in there, though it may not work if there are tags or album art. If all else fails, convert it to a wav file.

  97. A: That says that your cost power went up by 50.
