"I'm writing to urge Senator Wyden to oppose Fast Track, also known as Trade Promotion Authority, for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement. Congress needs time to debate and amend trade agreements that affect all of us. Fast Tracking the TPP is undemocratic, and I expect Senator Wyden to oppose it. I'll be watching this issue closely in 2015.

"As a citizen, I oppose trade policies that are developed without input from American working people. Moreover, the portions of TPP that have been made public raise serious questions about corporations bending the rules to violate labor, health & environmental standards. If Fast Track is granted, American laws will have to bend to the desires of international corporations without further debate or amendment in Congress. I would find it disturbing if you voted in favor of this process that undermines the constitutionally guaranteed checks and balances in government."

"It's no secret that over the past 20 years major trade agreements have disadvantaged American workers, undermined American food safety, and prevented developing countries from using sensible economic development policies to grow their economies. The TPP will harm American workers and consumers, and Fast Tracking the TPP will do it without allowing Congress to debate. I urge Senator Wyden to oppose Fast Track authority, and to stand with his constituents and concerned citizens across America."
