Wendy learns to lie

<SavanahHolland>	Wendy waddles along, it was nightime and she had just finished her homework in the commonroom. She walks up the stairs to her room, remembering something that she should probably mention to Akemi, probably. She takes out her key, opening the door to hopefully find Akemi inside.
<Kioku>	Akemi wasn't told to /not/ be there tonight, so she is.  She's pretty happy that she gets to spend about half her time cuddling Wendy at night, and half cuddling Claire.  Even so, any night she's not with one, she feels bad about them being alone... if they're alone.  Which Wendy isn't when she's with Claire.  So she really just feels guilty when she's here.  Akemi, stop going off on a tangent.  The point is, she's here right now, giving a small wave
<Kioku>	as Wendy opens the door.
<SavanahHolland>	Wendy closes the door behind her, jumping up and hugging Akemi with happily puffed cheeks. "Hey." she says happily, looking up to the girl with happy little eyes.
<Kioku>	Akemi giggles as she's huggle-pounced, and kisses Wendy's nose.  She's being too cute!  "Hi~  How was your day?"  \She keeps acting more and more like a little sister instead of a love interest.  I'm glad... it makes it easier to think of her that way and make sure things stay good with us.\
<SavanahHolland>	Wendy moves off of Akemi, going to plop down on the bed and looking up at her. "My day has been good, how was yours? Also.. um.. I need a favor.."
<Kioku>	"Mine was good too~  We rescued someone today... maybe you'll meet her some time!"  Akemi nuzzles Wendy's shoulder and holds her close.  "What is it you want to ask?"
<SavanahHolland>	"Who'd you rescue?" she asks curiously, then blushes a bit "W-well.. I wanted to ask you..." she pauses and takes a deep breath "to teach me how to lie" she murmurs.
<Kioku>	"A girl called Hyacinth~  Some other guys came after her too, when we did.  I think it was like an outreach program, to get kids to come willingly instead of kidnapping them.  Sam was there, maybe she could tell you about it too?  She had a different perspective, I'm sure.  I mostly just talked the parents into it.  And the police into letting us by.  And..."  Akemi trails off and giggles, shaking her head.  "I'm sure there's time for that later.  You
<Kioku>	want to learn to lie?"  She tilts her head curiously and searches Wendy's eyes.

<SavanahHolland>	Wendy's cheeks grow redder, puffing them up a bit and looking away "Y-yeah... I want to learn.. I-I know I'm bad at it.." she mumbles under her breath.
<Kioku>	Akemi hums.  "Alright.  But being able to talk to people well in general is just as important.  If you can't make a convincing story, or show your charisma, then the lie's not going to hold up too well if it's looked into."
<SavanahHolland>	Wendy nods, looking back to Akemi "But what if you start a lie, but someone adds something to it that ruins the lie and well, makes it not make sense?"
<Kioku>	"That's... always annoying.  But a good story can be spun from a lot.  You don't want to outright contradict the other person if you can avoid it, unless it makes sense.  Try to roll with it, incorporate it or play it off somehow.  Act natural, that's the most important thing.  Make it /feel/ like natural speech, like something you'd really say or think.  It can't sound rehersed.  Having too many details is just as bad as having too few."
<SavanahHolland>	"So.. can't detail too much, got to have details though... make it sound natural.. I think that's my biggest problem.. I have no idea how to do that..."
<Kioku>	"Well, how would you talk to someone if you were telling the truth?  Or telling a story that really did happen?"
<SavanahHolland>	"I- I don't know.. I just tell it.. what I saw, or what I think.. but with lying.. it's hard because for some reason I just trip over my words.. and stutter.."
<Kioku>	"Mmmm..."  Akemi hums, eyes darting over Wendy's face.  \She does have a habit of that...\  "Then maybe you just shouldn't lie?  Rather... give a certain point of view?  Offer part of the truth, not all of it?  The best lies are the ones hidden among the truth anyway, after all.  The ones that are only small details, or perhaps details that you can say that you deemed too unimportant to mention."
<SavanahHolland>	Wendy moves to sit on her knees, leaning on Akemi "Hmmm... you might be right.. it might be something I would have to try to put into action though... this feels so complicated..."
<Kioku>	Akemi strokes Wendy's cheek and gives her a flirty look, then winks.  "If people like you, they're far more inclined to believe you.  You're a cute, kind and likable person!  So build a rapport too if you can, even if it's just a little."
<SavanahHolland>	Wendys cheeks, and well, her face in general turns rose red as she lets out a squeak, moving her hands up to hide her cheeks. "U-um.. what's a r-rapport.." Wendy feels dumb, because she knows she is dumb.
<Kioku>	Akemi giggles at the reaction - it's exactly what she was going for.  "A relationship, an understanding between you so you can communicate well.  Have empathy with them, and make them empathize with you.  Make them care about you, your feelings, what you say."
<SavanahHolland>	Wendy nods slowly "But.. isn't that taking advantage of them..?
<Kioku>	Akemi tilts her head.  "How so?"
<SavanahHolland>	"Well.. if you become close to them, become their friend, making them care about you.. it's kinda taking advantage of their trust with lying to them.."
<Kioku>	Akemi shakes her head.  "I didn't mean that.  More, the 'what can you find in five seconds through body language and tone alone to make them trust you' sort of thing.  You shouldn't befriend someone for the sole purpose of manipulating them, after all."  \Even though I guess I do that sometimes, or would be willing to at least if it were for the right cause...\
<SavanahHolland>	Wendy nods "Yeah.. I guess though I can't shake that feeling.. I want to be able to lie though, to protect my friends if need be.."
<Kioku>	"Just try to understand the other person.  It's okay to empathize with them, figure out how you might tweak your wording so they'll believe you.  Or better yet, be convincing enough that they don't dig into your half-truths, that they infer the rest on their own or don't think there's more to know.  That way, you won't have to lie, just tell some without telling all."
<SavanahHolland>	Wendy nods "I- I think I get what you mean.. yeah.. I think I could do something like that.."
<Kioku>	Akemi smiles and pets Wendy's hair.  "It goes for convincing people of things too... even if it's just to calm down.  Try to understand how they feel, reach out to them.  Just don't try to get them to do something that would make them uncomfortable, right?"
<SavanahHolland>	Wendy nods quickly "Yeah, right. I think I get it.. it really just comes down to me actually having to do it.. lying to someone in my head is different than actually lying to a real person.."
<Kioku>	"Mm, I would help you practice, but I'm sure you don't want to lie to me~"
<SavanahHolland>	"And it's not like I'm trying to hide anything from yooou" she flails for a second and then lays back quickly making a small frustraited noise.
<Kioku>	Akemi giggles and flops down next to Wendy to hug and squeeze her.  "Ooh?  Aren't you~?"
<SavanahHolland>	Wendy blushes even more, tilting her head against the girl "w-what do you mean?"
<Kioku>	"Wendy~  Are you trying to hide something~?"  Akemi giggles again, caressing Wendy's cheek.  She just loves making the girl blush, no matter their relationship.
<SavanahHolland>	Wendy's face is just completely red as she flails a bit next to Akemi "N-no! O-of course not! W-what would I even be hiding!?"
<Kioku>	Akemi really can't stop giggling, Wendy is being so cute.  She hugs her tighter and nuzzles the poor girl's cheek.  "Don't worry~  It's okay~  I know you wouldn't~"  \She's totally hiding something.  Probably about a boy.  Or a girl.  Or she's just too easy to fluster.  Probably that.\
<SavanahHolland>	Wendy hasn't really told Akemi totally about her relationship with Chris yet, and even then she's not sure what to say.. are they dating? Are they not dating? She has no idea. She snuggles into Akemi "G-geez.." she mutters still blushing madly.
<Kioku>	Akemi snuggles her Wendy - for the Wendy still is hers, romance or not - and hums a tune that she knows oh so well, to put her to sleep.  Maybe it's a dream, maybe nothing else is real, but it wouldn't mean a thing if I told you how I feel.
