  1. Gand is not a memorable one. Like all other Gand, he heard the tales of the legendary Findsmen. As a child, Gand was fascinated with these stories, these legendary few who found their name by leading others to towns, and to their prey in the hunt. These men and women who would even travel amongst the universe, walking the path of truth. Gand had wanted to become an apprentice Findsmen so that he could join the journey, but on the planet of Gand he saw more and more of his peers who did not care for this tradition. As a result, Gand spent the formative years of his life searching to become a Findsmen, training his martial skills so that he may be of use to Gand. However, even in the Outer Rim the Gand could not escape the events of the Galactic Empire and while Gand’s toxic atmosphere and remote nature prevented any Imperial attack, it nevertheless experienced changes. No more would these ‘Jedi’ visit and discuss the ways of the force, nor was it so easy for Gand to travel as they once did. Gand heard how the force was wielded elsewhere in the galaxy, tales of these Jedi who could inspire others, heal others and even that some could use lightning against others. Gand however found this especially as dishonourable, for divining the omens was one thing. Utilising this power to hunt was abhorrent, and took from its purity. As a result, Gand paused his journey to become a Findsmen in order to learn of what others called the Force, and in particular how some could use this to contact those long dead. Finding his way onto a ship leaving for the Inner Rim, Gand wished to bring back his own tales and knowledge from any Jedi left alive.

  3. Misfortune would unfortunately follow Gand. On his travels from the Outer Rim, he found his way onto a Freighter heading to Corellia. Gand had been marvelling at how much his fellow passengers slept, spending as much time as he could talking with the crew on the happenings in the galaxy. Gand received many odd questions and found it a common sight to be stared at as he made his way from to and from his cabin. Gand tried to answer some of the simpler answers from those who approached him, telling them how Gand has an ammonia rich atmosphere and why he must wear his breathing apparatus on the ship. About how his people would be named Gand until they performed acts worthy of choosing a name. They were especially interested in the odd clicking and chirping way he would speak, followed by the translated result. However, Gand’s mostly pleasant journey was cut suddenly short when a ship with strange black circular marking on it jumped near the ship while it was refuelling. Suddenly it opened fire, explosion ripped through the ship, and it was soon boarded. In the ensuing fight, Gand’s arm was caught in the airlock as they took him away, and the pirate dragging him promptly cut it off. Gand amongst many others was forced into the pirate ship, and was bound up with the rest of the surviving passengers. Having never seen a Gand before, the pirates were keen to torture and beat Gand, especially amusing themselves once they saw his arm start to grow back. During the journey, several of Gand’s former friends succumbed to illness or injury at the hands of the pirates, but those that survived were resilient, and the slavers had gotten greedy over the weeks, raiding ships and acquiring a large amount of slaves. Amongst them were poor farmers, small time criminals who were escaping the law, ex-soldiers, a group of miners, and many more. Eventually after a particularly daring raid left a few of the pirates injured, Gand lay, seeming almost comatose. He was dragged to another room, where a couple of the pirate discussed whether they knew what to do, and how they’d already found someone interested in having a live Gand specimen, discussing how much they could sell Gand for if he was dead.

  5. While this was happening, the pirate returned and excitedly told the first that they’d picked up a distress signal, and that it was an Action Six freighter. After they rushed out of the room, Gand tentatively checked his surroundings, and made his way out. Thankfully it seemed the pirates had rushed to take whatever valuable cargo they thought the ship had, and Gand managed to find a door leading to a lower cargo bay, where the pirates had kept a large amount of what they had stolen. Suddenly Gand heard a volley of blaster fire coming from just above, and fearing the kind of people who would attack pirates, Gand picked up his armour, and the first dangerous looking item he could – One of the hammers he had seen be taken in along with the miners. Gand donned the armour, and cautiously moved up to the source of the fighting. Seeing one of the slavers had his back to Gand, he swung at him, smashing into the pirate’s back and knocking him down. Before the pirate could fire off a shot at Gand, he swung the hammer down, crushing the pirate’s skull with a resounding thud on the metal. In front of him stood several more people, but these ones he did not recognise. There was a tense standoff as Gand, hammer raised, was prepared to either stay free, or die trying. However the leader of the men lowered his pistol, and prompted the others to do the same. Gand followed in course, and just watched the man. Gand was asked his name, and how many other slaves were on board. Gand replied with as much information as he could, and directed the man to the decks where the slaves were kept. The man thanked Gand, and asked one of his subordinates to take Gand onto their ship. At this, Gand once again raised his weapon only to be told that he wasn’t being taken captive, and if they wanted to do that then they could have shot him. Accepting this, Gand followed them onto their ship, which appeared to be in a much cleaner state than the previous one, and was lead to a room with a bunk, and told that he would be taken back to their station.
