Becoming a competent fighter within Avalon is a challenging task. The path to victory will invariably be laced with myriad deaths, pitfall after obstacle and heartbreaking 'almost-wons'.
*Losses should not be discouraging!
Every single loss and indeed, every single death should be taken as a chance to learn; absorb all you can from the defeat, analyse one's tactics, one's strengths and weaknesses, the strengths and weaknesses of your enemy. The foremost goal after any player-defeat should be to never make the same mistakes and fall to the same strategies more than once - ensure EVERY fight is an improvement from the one before it.
It is unreasonable to expect instant results when one is learning, and consequently, any easy result is almost always a poor learning-experience that provides little scope for improvement and merely perpetuates stagnation. Determination and perseverance will ALWAYS win out over craven cowardice and fighting only when the odds are beneficial; one does not learn if one is never faced with difficulty, a challenge to overcome.
Beginning will be difficult, often frustratingly so, but it is undeniable that a positive attitude and an enthusiastic approach to learning from one's mistakes is the route to success. Indeed, there are few things more satisfying than the successful challenge of a hated enemy who used to regularly defeat you - joyous in the knowledge that your own ability to learn and react, to grow and develop and to face dangers head-on with head-held-high has prevailed.
Thus: Seek challenges rather than excuses. Choose difficult over easy. Show enthusiasm over cowardice. Learn from all mistakes and let any losses galvanise your willingness to get better
