  1. That house seemed to be a constant in my life.
  2. I planned a small party, a few friends with one goal.
  3. Get high for the first time and don't let family find out.
  4. The needed items gathered and friends arrived.
  5. The fun was in full swing, for now.
  6. As I lifted my head and exhaled the large cloud I saw headlights.
  7. My aunt and uncle, why were THEY here? Why now?
  8. I scrambled the troops to hide the evidence of the wild night.
  9. A cornucopia of glass and flowers shoved in a plastic bag in the closet.
  10. A friend's Parakeet hidden away in the pantry.
  11. Family flooded the house as 5 teens tried to play cool.
  12. Squawks erupted from the pantry and we knew we were found out.
  13. As if a small bird could uncover our plans.
  14. Not thinking of the light fog in the air, the smell, and the panicked reactions of us 5.
  15. Nothing came out of it.
  16. No one was harmed or in trouble.
  17. Only one stayed behind to help clean.
  18. I didn't know her and she didn't know me.
  19. How did she get here?
  20. Those questions melted away as we cleaned.
  21. A natural friendship blossoming in the midst of a teenage disaster.
  22. Something about her grabbed my soul and never let go.
  23. "My name is ...... by the way."
  24. My mind still locks the memories away.
  25. Days passed and I saw more and more of her and we grew closer and closer.
  26. The hold she had on my soul grew tighter and tighter until sometimes I swear it hurt.
  27. It was 5 months later that she kissed me under the porch light as I stumbled for words.
  28. She ran home embarassed and time stood still.
  29. All my problems faded.
  30. We joked about it the next day and told eachother how we felt.
  31. Soon our love began to grow like a spark in a dry California forest.
  32. I had found the one and nothing could go wrong.
  33. Two years went by and our connection had grown so strong.
  34. We would make the joke that we often finished eachother's...
  35. "Sandwiches!", she jested. It never got old to me.
  36. Then, as if waiting in silence since we met, roaring out of the shadows it happened.
  37. A horrific deed done in the name of fate that tore us apart.
  38. Even now my mind won't let me remember the cataclysm.
  39. Only the fight that followed.
  40. She cried.
  41. I stood in awe of how quickly perfection can be ripped from you.
  42. I can't remember how long it was between the waves that it sent through our lives.
  43. Her dad kicked her out.
  44. I offered for her to stay with me but it was if I had done something wrong.
  45. I don't know.
  46. I felt an anger brewing inside her as the words crossed her lips.
  47. "This would have never happened if I hadn't met you."
  48. "I hate you."
  49. Every joint in my body locked and I was thrown out of time.
  50. The pain of lost love was unfathomable.
  51. It hurt.
  52. I cried.
  53. She was gone from my life and there was nothing I could do.
  54. So, I went on living still with the shards of a shattered past in my mind.
  55. I tried to extract the memories by burning everything that reminded me of her.
  56. I had nothing left.
  57. I don't know how long had passed.
  58. Possibly forever.
  59. I lost track of the days as I stumbled through life a empty shell among the fallout.
  60. Everywhere I went I saw her.
  61. She was never really there.
  62. Life was an endless march in solitude.
  63. One morning as I awoke I was not filled with the same dread as usual.
  64. There was a small feeling inside of me that something good was to happen.
  65. I had not felt this way in years so I protected this light so it wouldn't fade.
  66. It was my only warmth in a cold lonely world.
  67. As I walked into that place again I was haunted by her face in the crowd.
  68. She sat with a friend never noticing me in the distance.
  69. Was this really her or was what I felt earlier the spark of insanity that threw me overboard?
  70. This phantom didn't fade.
  71. I stood staring as the memories slowly returned.
  72. I don't know how long I was there.
  73. Suddenly my trance was broken by her friend pointing me out.
  74. I had seen this all before, I stare, get pointed out, I get disgusted looks.
  75. Not this time.
  76. As the figure turned to face me I realized that this was no apparition.
  77. Her eyes locked with mine.
  78. Disbelief from both sides.
  79. Slowly she stood.
  80. Never losing eye contact she slowly made her way to me.
  81. As she met me in the middle of this crowded room she gently touched my cheek.
  82. Her hand made a connection and every memory that I tried for years to erase flooded back.
  83. I relived the past in an instant as I felt my heart strain.
  84. Only one feeling remained, that love like two armies hellbent on annihilation.
  85. As the tears rushed down my cheeks I said to her,
  86. "I.......waited....."
  87. She wrapped me in a full embrace and through her crys I heard a soft voice,
  88. "I still love you"
  89. As the last word passed her lips and entered my mind,
  90. I woke up.
  91. I had lost her again.
