Pakani spills the tea to Alicia

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "So.  I'm doing everything in my power to piss her off."

[Party] Pakani Redstone: He looks surprised. "What? Why?"

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "Well, one, she worships Lolth.  Two, the Black Dragons are bad news, and three, she's kidnapped a friend of mine, and maybe done more to other innocent people.  I can't just let that stand."

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "Which friend? Oh. Anora, right?"

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "She tried to get me to join the Black Dragons.  I was originally going to say yes, and take the chance to spy on them, relay information to the Guard if anything bad was going on.  Yeah, Anora. Then I found out Burmice worshipped Lolth. And that set things back.  I can't...Be that close to a Lolth-worshipper. Given I have been openly praising Elistraee, and insulting her at every turn, I've been trying to goad her to either send someone, or come try and grab me herself.  But I need to know exactly what I am up against, so I can defend myself, if she does send someone."

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "Oh, uhh, hmm. She's... usually smart enough -not- to go after anyone directly. And even her own allies, she cuts ties if they do anything too open and get themselves in trouble. It's why she's not on Bhael's side anymore. Sort of. Because he made too big a show of how evil he is, and dug a hole he can't get out of, so she split. But anyway. I was... contacted by someone just now and told to tell you what I know about Burmice and House Baenndar."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "Was it our mutual friend?"

[Party] Pakani Redstone: He shrugs. "Yeah."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "Alright.  Start with House Baenndar. Since I know less about them than I do about Burmice."

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "Okay. So. A Drow house led by Matron Mother Tal'ffyn Melarn. The old patron, Zaknafein, turned out to be a rat, so they left him out to dry. Literally. He got arrested and hanged."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "I see."

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "Then one of them starting going around murdering every guard and official in the case and filling the corpse with spider eggs. So far I know about Tal'ffyn, who has a place here on the surface. There's also Adinimys, he's a slaver, captures people in Rothe Valley..."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "Goddess."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "I see.  How tough is he?  The slaver."

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "I'm not sure. I know he has some kind of hound dog... Anyway, Burmice has a bodyguard, Elkanyzn of House Barrison Del'Armgo. Big silent guy, always in armor, barely speaks."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "I see."

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "Let's see, there's uh... Severa? Sereva? It's been a while, I don't know what her deal is. Then there's Myr'phyr, she has slaves ON the surface, and she's training to be a priestess of Lolth."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "Sounds like a problem if she sends him."

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "Yeah. Burmice recently went on some trip with him to the Underdark to rescue his sister. Close enough to risk herself there..."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "And it sounds like, if I wound up going after this House, Myr'phyr would be my first target."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "I see."

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "Yeah. I haven't heard of her being on the surface for a while though. After Myr made some trouble for herself, Tal'ffyn sent her off for yathrine training."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "Then close enough not to put him out there if she sends someone after me. So I can probably check him off my list of potential attackers."

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "Maybe. Then theres's, uh... Shaidon Maldoom. But I haven't heard of him in ages either."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "And I can definitely count Myr out, then."

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "I wouldn't be surprised if they -all- went into hiding with this warrant, honestly."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "Right, but Burmice could probably convince them to come back out."

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "There's Alyryne'ithra Do'ana, who is working with them sometimes, but is a priestess of Selune, so I... don't know what's going on there."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "Really...Hm. Maybe a front? Might be a Lolth priestess disguising as a Selunite."

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "She might just be oblivious... I dunno. I actually went to the temple to ask and make SURE she really is working there."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "Have you seen her do anything that a Selunite can't do?"

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "So maybe, but if so, she's tricking the other Selunites too."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "Ah, alright."

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "I uh. I haven't seen her do anything. And I mean - heard her do anything, either. She hasn't cast around me."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "Hm. I'll have to keep an eye out, then, for that."

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "Umm... it's been a -while-, I'm trying to remember if there was anyone else. They haven't been active in a long time, other than Burmice."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "It's fine if you don't remember anymore.  For now, that's plenty of information I didn't have.  What about Burmice?"

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "Well, as you know, she worships Lolth. She's also a necromancer, a powerful arcanist, member of the Arcane Brotherhood of Luskan. Her cat's her familiar. She's lieutenant-general of the Black Dragon Mercenaries. She left the Underdark after a slave revolt, was a mercenary for a while, I thiiink she might've been in the Zhentarim... Her weird eye can detect magic and see through stuff, and if she ever writes things in a book and burns the pages, that's her using the Sending spell."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "A slave revolt, huh.  That explains why she didn't want to mention it to me."

[Party] Pakani Redstone: He snorts suddenly. "Oh, apparently the others out there think we're making out."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "Pff. That would be something, huh."

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "Hmm... She can also teleport, cast zone of silence, and Geas..."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "Geas?  That's...Not good.  At all."

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "Yeah. She kidnapped and Geas'd Anora once."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "Shit."

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "It's kind of a long story everything that led up to that. Kind of a lot of back-and-forth revenging on everyone's side because one of Anora's friends did something stupid to one of Burmice's friends.

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "I see. Let's move on, then.  How should I go about protecting my room?"

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "I'm... I dunno. Uhh. Antimagic, antiteleports, uh... anti-undead? I don't have any of that magic -myself-, so... I just kind of keep my head down and stay affable with everyone."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "Right, and that's fine.  Anti-undead is simple enough, just lots of holy water, other natural undead deterrents.  Anti-teleports would fall under anti-magic.  I'll have to figure something out."

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "Oh, and it's Burmice telling them we're making out."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "Of course it is. She probably thinks it'd bother me."

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "Oh, her own lover has disappeared and I turned her down when she invited me over for sex."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "Hah."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "Oh shit did you tell Nikki?"

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "Yes. So that should go fantastic now, shouldn't it?" Grin.

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "Perfect.  Should we make it seem like we actually did?  I think that might piss her off more."

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "I... I don't really want that kind of rumor going around, I do have a girlfriend."

[Party] Alicia Ferrin: "Oh, yeah.  Fair enough. Anyways, should we head back out there?"

[Party] Pakani Redstone: "Might as well."
