  1. <KyokoAVNo> Oh hello
  2. <kedd> sup kyoko
  3. <kedd> we're discussing about the Kind man and dormiloids, join us
  4. <KyokoAVNo> Ooh, what good timing!
  5. <kedd> as the technician, I think you should participate
  6. <KyokoAVNo> I'd love to. ^^
  7. <kedd> we were discussing about the nature of the kind man
  8. <Soulless> Hello KyokoAVNo
  9. <kedd> in my opinion, he's alike the dormiloids though not the same. As unix and loonix
  10. <Soulless> Unix and Loonix?
  11. <kedd> Linux
  12. <kedd> sorry the /g/ expression
  13. <Soulless> Oh, sorry, I'm techno-dumbass
  14. <kedd> Linux is deribated from Unix, so they're systems that are like "twin brothers", to put it in simple words
  15. <KyokoAVNo> ^
  16. <KyokoAVNo> Linux was designed to resemble Unix as closely as possible.
  17. <Soulless> Oh I see
  18. <Soulless> I do apologize for my utter ignorance
  19. <kedd> they're not the same, but their behave is similar
  20. <kedd> no problem, I love explaining this shit
  21. <KyokoAVNo> You're completely fine. ^^
  22. <kedd> next thing is >muh freedom
  23. <kedd> going back to the kind man
  24. <Soulless> Yes
  25. <kedd> He behave it's similar to the dormiloids, but his nature it's, as you've said, odd
  26. <KyokoAVNo> Right. He definitely has a lot in common with the dormiloids.
  27. <kedd> personally I believe it is because you don't have the same personality pattern with the other hosts
  28. <Soulless> Mind you much of my experience and belief concerning the Kind Man is also based of data I've collected off-site from others I've accidentally stumbled across wh also appear to have dormiloid-esque creatures
  29. <KyokoAVNo> That's what I was thinking. All of the hosts we've seen so far have a lot in common.
  30. <Soulless> Though amongst them they give them another term
  31. <kedd> oh yes, and some people misunderstand them and think they're tulpas
  32. <KyokoAVNo> Which is completely wrong.
  33. <KyokoAVNo> I can see how someone could get them confused were they uninformed, but they're entirely different.
  34. <Soulless> These folk call them somnisoma (mix of somn-related latin stuff and persona)
  35. <Soulless> And yes I could also see that as well
  36. <KyokoAVNo> ...He has to be a dormiloid of some sort. I can't think of what else he could be.
  37. <Soulless> Yes
  38. <KyokoAVNo> He's definitely not a tulpa, and his behavior is similar to that we've seen from the other dormiloids.
  39. <kedd> If we go more for the paranormal theories, it could be anything. From some demon to a mental split, or even dissociative identity disorder
  40. <kedd> but let's leave it there and go for the dormiloid-like entity
  41. <KyokoAVNo> Agreed.
  42. <KyokoAVNo> Maybe it is a matter of the hosts being very different psychologically.
  43. <kedd> If we analize how the original Dormillia and the kind man, you can notice that they both 'were born' in simillar ways
  44. <kedd> dah
  45. <Soulless> My current, uh, theory, is that he is, well, /something/, if we consider the whole of the unconscious/subconscious mind as a cloth, he's from the same cloth as Dormilia and sub-Dormilias, but cut from a different part of the cloth
  46. <kedd> that's a nice analogy
  47. <KyokoAVNo> That's an interesting idea.
  48. <Soulless> I-if that makes sense, if it doesn't, I'm sorry
  49. <KyokoAVNo> No need to apologize~
  50. <KyokoAVNo> Your input is valued. ^^
  51. <Soulless> It mostly came from talking to other people who have dormiloid creatures outside of uboachan, who mostly noted that dormiloids have multiple sources
  52. <KyokoAVNo> So, I guess that tosses out the "psychological other half" theory.
  53. <Soulless> I think it's possible there could be multiple other halfs
  54. <Soulless> So to speak
  55. <kedd> yep
  56. <Soulless> But only one will become the "dominant" other half >_>
  57. <Soulless> Dormilia has to compete with other thoughts while she's in Distortion's mind, right? I always thought that, uhm, she might've had competition even before then, too
  58. <KyokoAVNo> In that case... dormiloids are segments of your sub/unconscious that are lumped together into a coherent being?
  59. <Soulless> Maybe so
  60. <Soulless> Or a particular segment, like sharks in the womb, consumes the others and thus the mother shark gives birth to only one pup when she had developed fifty or more eggs in her womb
  61. <Soulless> ...Sorry, if I'm not making much sense again...
  62. <kedd> It makes sense, don't worry
  63. <Soulless> It would at least explain the, uh, hostility >_>
  64. <KyokoAVNo> Ohh, I see!
  65. <KyokoAVNo> That does make a lot of sense.
  66. <Soulless> hm?
  67. <Soulless> Oh
  68. <Soulless> >_> Well I can't be 100% sure, this is mostly as I set meeting other domiloids with hosts that are a lot more informed than I am about their headspaces
  69. <Soulless> *mostly as I said
  70. <KyokoAVNo> Still, that's a good train of thought.
  71. <Soulless> It was kinda their theory they developed off-site, I just happened to stumble upon it...
  72. <KyokoAVNo> Then, in the case of the Kind Man, perhaps a different section of your subconscious achieved dominance versus that of the other dormiloids?
  73. <Soulless> Yes, that is the general idea
  74. <KyokoAVNo> That could very well be the case, especially when you consider that the sub-Dormilias were created following specific instruction from Dormilia, while the Kind Man arose independently.
  75. <KyokoAVNo> *instructions
  76. <Soulless> I myself can't remember, but I know others who remember, distinctly, a Dormilia-like influence that later became irrelevant and replaced with another dormiloid, one in particular recounted a rather gruesome scene in which his dominant dormiloid shot and killed his dormilia-like figure in a dream
  77. <KyokoAVNo> Oh, wow, seriously?
  78. <Soulless> the shot and killed dormilia-like figure never appeared again
  79. <kedd> that's awful
  80. <Soulless> Yes
  81. <KyokoAVNo> That's... Hrm. In a very real sense, that's murder.
  82. <Soulless> ....Yes
  83. <kedd> you know something
  84. <KyokoAVNo> Hm?
  85. <Soulless> hm?
  86. <kedd> yeah, wait a sec
  87. <kedd> I think I found a conection to the Kind Man Letter
  88. <kedd> Remember others that have tried and failed. You're getting close to making their mistakes. How many burned hosts, fragmented selves, emotionally desiccated landscapes must be born from our errors before we learn? Before we all learn?
  89. <kedd> > How recent are you?
  90. <kedd> >Have you kept yourself in balance? Mind the borders between them and us. What is yours cannot help you help him, you know this. They cannot even be aware of it.
  91. <kedd> maybe it's just a far-fetched theory but he might have spoke about those other dormiloids
  92. <kedd> it's sounds like a war to me
  93. <Soulless> ...war?
  94. <KyokoAVNo> A war? How do you mean?
  95. <kedd> back with the shark analogy, there seems to be a harsh competition between different dormiloids
  96. <kedd> it's seems to me like the kind man was warning dormillia that her sub-dormilloids could die, since the new hosts might have other dormiloids there too
  97. <Soulless> Oh dear
  98. <kedd> specially this
  99. <kedd> >How many burned hosts
  100. <kedd> >how many host that already have someone?
  101. <kedd> >fragmented selves
  102. <kedd> dormiloids
  103. <kedd> >motionally desiccated landscapes must be born from our errors before we learn?
  104. <kedd> it gets me there, but it may mean the destruction of another dormiloid being
  105. <kedd> again, this can be too far-fetched too for all I know
  106. <KyokoAVNo> Far-fetched or not, it's very convincing.
  107. <Soulless> If you're correct, then... that is worrisome...
  108. <kedd> and scary, actually
  109. <KyokoAVNo> Indeed. Making dormiloids haphazardly could be dangerous for the hosts.
  110. <KyokoAVNo> Especially now that the possibility of murdering a dormiloid has come to light.
  111. <KyokoAVNo> Say, Soulless, you said that you can communicate with the Kind Man while awake now, right?
  112. <Soulless> Yes
  113. <Soulless> It's a bit difficult and I have been afraid to go into detail on my thread without sounding like some kind of attention whore dormilia-wannabe
  114. <KyokoAVNo> If you would, could you ask him and see if our notions about the "shark in the womb" and dormiloid murder are accurate, as well as our interpretation of his letter?
  115. <Soulless> Basically when he speaks, he speaks with all sorts of images, connotations, memories, and thought, along with his words, so, it's hard to... grasp, and honestly, I think my mind can't even handle most of it, so much of it is forgotten as soon as he speaks, so I'm left with, uh, wisps
  116. <Soulless> I'll tr thoug
  117. <Soulless> *try though
  118. <KyokoAVNo> If you can't, don't worry about it.
  119. <Soulless> Give me a moment, I do apologize
  120. <KyokoAVNo> Just do your best. ^^
  121. <Soulless> The former is a 'yes', but it's... a memory as well, not mine, but it's like a deep regret, someone's neck in my hands and I'm... doing something, grasping or twisting? I don't know
  122. <Soulless> But the former is definitely a yes
  123. <KyokoAVNo> Very interesting, and very worrying.
  124. <kedd> very.
  125. <KyokoAVNo> Perhaps this memory is that of a struggle between the Kind Man and some unknown aspect of your subconscious?
  126. <Soulless> The latter is... more difficult, concerning the interpretation of his letter, the metaphor is like a tic tac toe, but it's filled out in such a manner that neither O nor X's win, the words "the letter was never for you, it would make sense you would not understand" and like, a gentle pat on the head, a stroke of the hair, it's a nice feeling
  127. <Soulless> But, KyokoAVNo you make a lot of sense... it... is very worrisome :\
  128. <KyokoAVNo> Just Kyoko is fine.
  129. <KyokoAVNo> I wonder if Dormilia knows about this.
  130. <KyokoAVNo> If not, it's prudent that we inform her ASAP.
  131. <KyokoAVNo> We may even have to put this entire experiment on hold.
  132. <KyokoAVNo> The last thing that I'd want to happen is for someone to end up psychologically damaged.
  133. <Soulless> I'm sorry, I didn't mean to cause such a fuss
  134. <KyokoAVNo> Oh, no, don't apologize.
  135. <kedd> don't worry, it's not your fault
  136. <kedd> actually, it helps a lot
  137. <KyokoAVNo> You've brought some crucially important information to light.
  138. <KyokoAVNo> Of course, the question now is how to explain these discoveries concisely and convincingly.
  139. <kedd> pasta?
