  1. A calming and cool breeze blows against your face as you look at the dark expanse of ocean before you.
  2. >You are Anonymous.
  3. >Leaning over a railing, you stare vacantly off into the distance.
  4. >The smell of the sea breeze fills your nostrils as you take another sip from your glass.
  5. >Scotch on the rocks.
  6. >Just something to savour and enjoy whilst admiring the view.
  7. >You've had a couple of drinks.
  8. >You don't really know the exact number but you've had enough to feel a bit light headed.
  9. >But it helps keeping your mind off of all the goings on back inside.
  10. >This cruise was supposed to be relaxing.
  11. >Your boss and co-workers urged you to go.
  12. >"Anon I'll be honest, you're our number one. Look, you need time off and I'm willing to give it to you, what do you say? I've got an important job for you when you get back so go and get some rest alright?"
  13. >You really couldn't argue with him so you caved.
  14. >However this cruise just happened to be holding one of Equestria's finest events.
  15. >The Grand Galloping Gala.
  16. >So naturally that meant that heaps of people were attending.
  17. >Great.
  18. >Apparently it was moved because the original place for the event was undergoing renovations.
  19. >Whatever the reason, because you were booked in prior to the event being moved, you got into the Gala for free.
  20. >You can't help but wonder if that was a result of your boss or the cruise service.
  21. >From what you've observed, the Gala does live up to its name.
  22. >The rich gathering around to talk to the rich, and famous.
  23. >That stupid flight team is here.
  24. >The Wonderbolts.
  25. >Bunch of flashy pilots who pull off flashy tricks in the skies.
  26. >You've never understood the appeal.
  27. >But they are loved greatly by the rest of the world.
  28. >Guess you must be different.
  29. >Everyone is inside enjoying dinner and talking to each other.
  30.
  31. >Tonight is also the night where people get to do little Q&A sessions with the Wonderbolts.
  32. >Boring.
  33. >You stayed for as long as you could.
  34. >Chatted with people.
  35. >Listening to older men proudly talk of their possessions.
  36. >One of them talked to you about how he owns a bigger ship that the one you're currently on.
  37. >The Crystal Empire.
  38. >One of the most luxurious ships in Equestria.
  39. >You doubt that he owns a ship bigger than this one.
  40. >It's so massive, it's very easy to get lost.
  41. >There were a couple of interesting young women around but the Wonderbolts came out and everyone started taking pictures.
  42. >The louder people became, the more you started drinking.
  43. >Eventually the hype got too much for you so you left.
  44. >And now here you are.
  45. >Enjoying the rest of your drink in the quiet, away from everyone else whilst watching the waves.
  46. >The moon is really bright tonight, its reflection shining off of the waves in areas.
  47. >You're feeling a bit fuzzy but nothing too bad.
  48. >It's a nice feeling.
  49. >It's warm despite the outside breeze biting at your skin.
  50. >You look down and watch the waves.
  51. >It's a calm night.
  52. >You'd really enjoy spending new years eve away from people.
  53. >But luck has never been on your side.
  54. >You let out a long sigh.
  55. >You consider going back to your private suite but decide against it, being content to just stay outside some more.
  56. >The sound of approaching footsteps cause you to snap out of the pleasant trance you entered into.
  57. >You lean over and look to the side, witnessing quite a sight stumbling towards your general direction.
  58. >A rainbow haired girl appears to be having a bit of trouble as she slowly walks towards the railing in which you are leaning on.
  59. >Her dress matches her hair in colour and flows down to just above her feet.
  60. >It must have been tailor made because it matches her perfectly as it complements her lithe, athletic figure.
  61.
  62. >Those strong arms and her perfectly toned but smooth looking legs that you took a peek at every time her dress swayed to the side.
  63. >She's wearing golden high heels which match the several golden accessories she possesses.
  64. >You look up at her face.
  65. >Her face is beautiful, her rainbow hair tied up into a pony tail with two small strands of hair hanging by the sides of her face.
  66. >Something about her seems off.
  67. >You get the strange feeling that she's out of her element as she stumbles constantly.
  68. >Perhaps she's had a bit to drink as well.
  69. >She's frowns and looks at the ground as she unknowingly walks over to you.
  70. "Umm, are you alright there miss?" you ask cautiously as she continues to wander towards you.
  71. >She stops suddenly and looks up at you, giving you a perfect view of her attractive face and her cerise eyes.
  72. >"Huh?"
  73. >The girl stands there with her eyes on you.
  74. >Yep, she's had something to drink alright.
  75. >Her eyes widen slightly.
  76. >"Heyyy, I know you! You're that dude from before! You helped my friend with her bags when we boarded!" she pipes up.
  77. >In an instant, her frown disappears from her face and is replaced by a friendly smile.
  78. >You recall the elegant purple haired princess and her thousands of bags.
  79. "So many fucking bags..." you utter, perhaps a bit too loud.
  80. >She giggles which causes you to apologise.
  81. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it li-"
  82. >She places a hand up, silencing you.
  83. >"Dude, it's cool. I understand" she says, a slight but still noticeable slur in her words.
  84. >She gives you a genuine smile that calms your nerves.
  85. >Dude and cool both support your previous observation.
  86. >This girl is out of her element.
  87. >She takes a few steps forward but stumbles slightly, causing her to growl.
  88. >You go to help her but you stop as she takes her shoes off.
  89. >"Uuugh! How can any sensible person wear these stupid things?" she yells out in frustration.
  90. >She walks up to the railing and throws them overboard.
  91.
  92. >You look at her shocked.
  93. >She smiles as they fall into the water, a look of satisfaction plastered over her face.
  94. >She then slumps over the railing, back towards the water and looks at you with a brow raised.
  95. >"So, what's ya name egghead?"
  96. >You look to the side in confusion.
  97. "Well it's egghead now, apparently"
  98. >She snorts and reaches an arm back, pulling the hair tie and undoing her pony tail.
  99. >You find yourself captivated by the action, her rainbow hair blowing in the wind before hanging down behind her back.
  100. >"Well you just look like an egghead. Do you read books?" she asks, tiling her head to the side as she looks up at you.
  101. >You resume leaning on the railing and staring out into the distance.
  102. "Doesn't everybody?" you ask.
  103. >She giggles again.
  104. >"Yup, total egghead alert"
  105. >You sigh and don't make any further comment.
  106. >"In junior high, I told my friends that reading was for nerds. Then I ended up becoming obsessed with a series called Daring do. You heard of it?"
  107. "Y-Yeah, I've got all of the books" you respond hesitantly.
  108. >"Hehe, don't worry about it. So do I. I guess we're both nerds"
  109. >A brief silence.
  110. >"So what is your name?" the girl asks again.
  111. >You turn your head to her and respond.
  112. "It's Anonymous"
  113. >She turns and grins at you.
  114. "That's a cool name I guess. I'm Rainbow Dash"
  115. >She holds out a hand and you shake it.
  116. >She's something special alright.
  117. "That's a cool name too, I guess" you say, mimicking her.
  118. >She snorts again and looks out at the horizon, resting her arms on the railing.
  119. >"You bet your sweet ass it is" she happily yells before slowly frowning again.
  120. >You turn around and copy her position, staring out at the waves.
  121. "Why did you come out here anyway? All of the exciting stuff is inside right?" you ask.
  122. >She lets out a long dawn out sigh.
  123. >"Yeah but tonight has been a huge disappointment. I thought it was gonna be the best night ever but it didn't turn out that way"
  124. >She looks down sadly and you immediately regret asking.
  125.
  126. >However your curiosity requires more information.
  127. "Is this gala even that much of a big deal? Unless you're like, the Wonderbolts number one fa-"
  128. >You stop yourself short as you see her face fall even more.
  129. >Carefully, you shift closer to her.
  130. "I'm sorry"
  131. >"D-Don't be. It's cool"
  132. >Her head bolts up to the sky as she wipes away a couple of tears.
  133. >She tilts her head to the side, glancing at you with a forced smile.
  134. >"No one has ever seen me cry before, not even my best friends. Gosh, I must be drunk" she utters, followed by an empty chuckle.
  135. >So she's a huge fan.
  136. "I take it that they're not as 'wonder'ful as you thought?"
  137. >You can't help but smile as she laughs at your shitty pun.
  138. >"Wow, that was pretty bad"
  139. "Yeah, I know"
  140. >You both share another laugh together.
  141. >She moves slightly closer to you.
  142. >"Basically I've wanted to be a Wonderbolt since I was six so tonight was a pretty big deal for me"
  143. >You nod and pay apt attention to her.
  144. >The both of you stare up at the sky as she talks about her childhood and how she always wanted to be a Wonderbolt.
  145. >Even though you have no interest in them, you pay attention regardless.
  146. >Maybe you'd like to know more about her.
  147. >About Rainbow Dash.
  148. >This girl has caught your attention rather quickly which is unusual.
  149. >Whatever.
  150. "So, I'm guessing that they turned you down?"
  151. >She shakes her head.
  152. >"No. It's just, they're not exactly who I thought they were yknow? Like, they kinda ignored me and looked down on everyone. I wasn't even able to get near them"
  153. >You shake your head and smile.
  154. "That's what fame does to you I guess"
  155. >She groans but you notice that she inches slightly closer to you.
  156. >"I wouldn't be like that if I was famous"
  157. >You roll your eyes and smirk at her.
  158. "Sure you wouldn't"
  159. >She huffs.
  160. >"How would you know? We've known each other for less than a day!"
  161. >The both of you remain silent for a couple of seconds.
  162. >You both shift closer together but ended bumping into each other.
  163. >Another awkward silence.
