The Ferris Wheel

My body, though it was stationary
I felt jolts of chills and shivers
Of the heavy thoughts I carry.
With every suspicion, my body quivered.

Not knowing what to do or feel
I choke on every lump in my throat,
I shouldn't have gone on the Ferris Wheel.
The tears I see falling strike every odd note.

Now judgement finally evades me.
Only when I need it most.
Lust has stricken me.
I took her on the roller coaster.

What a mistake. I've been trapped inside the fun house.
Everything, broken like glass, broken like mirrors.
I'd rather leave the pieces on the floor
Than having to face a hundred eyes welled up with tears.

Tired, overwhelmed, hyperventilation.
Her tears hit the concrete without hesitation.
I shouldn't have gone on the Ferris wheel.
