  4. Having set the area of my brain which comes up with genius ideas in motion, i cannot stop coming up with them now
  5. this is the second one in a matter of minutes
  6. As with the other New Premium Feature that i posted, i will post here also the gameforge "Five rules of features" that every new feature must incorperate

  9. 1) IMNVS has to say its good (im using your colour here because i know you love it so much). IMNVS knows what all the best features in the game are so his acceptance is a must
  10. 2) it has to revolve around the increased useage (and therefore sales) of dark matter
  11. 3) it cannot in any way make it easier to crash someones fleet, if it makes it harder then its a bonus
  12. 4) it has to be something that the community dont really want (IE M.O.O.N.Z), and it cannot really be something that the community have been asking for over a period of a number of years (ok some are, but only minor ones).
  13. 5) (and this is the biggie), it HAS to degrade the gaming experience, and make it easier for N.O.O.B.Z (see what i did there?) to play with.

  16. ok so this idea is to encourage the playing duration of a player form the time he starts, to the time he quits the game.
  17. We all know that most people quit, most noobs that is, quit, because they get owned early on. Ogame is a simple game but some people just dont get or, or want to spend the 10minutes required in the forums learning the required information to keep their fleets safe
  18. so, to assist their playing, i propose the following:

  20. DM-FUNDED ANTI-ATTACK PLANETARY DEFENSE SHIELD

  22. ok so the basic premise is this
  23. Each player can active a planetary defense shield around their planet using DM. Say 5k DM per day per planet (for 10 planets, thats 50k dm per day, equating to about £5 per day). The actual cost of the Shield can be calculated based on planet value (value of the mines/facilities built there), in a simple logarithmic manner so it doesnt get *too* expensive late game when planets are worth upwqards of 20m resources.
  24. The planetary defense shield stops ALL INCOMING AND OUTGOING ATTACKS. It cannot be activated if there are already any incoming or outgoing attacks, although measures would be implemented to stop this being blocked with 20 days 1rec attacks. This way, if anyone wants to play the game, buy dm, but not attack anyone ever, then they dont need to fear being attacked by anyone else. no need to fs, have your life dictated to you by the return of your fleetsave, and no need for useless defenses on your account either, you can just build mines and research happily without interferance
  25. Once activated, you cannot lower the defense shield.
  26. the shield will be payed for upfront for X days (much the same the officers are) and unless extended will run out once the timer ticks down
  27. transports, deployments, expos, espionages are all ok missions, but no attack or acs defense is allowed
  28. on the galaxy view, this shield will be represented by a glowing halo around the planet in question, so all players know its active

  30. This feature will succeed where other features have not, in creating longer-lasting players in a game with quickly dwindling numbers.

  32. while these players cannot be farmed, they can always trade resources with others, or even pull lower ranked accounts, although i am sure if they are prepared to pay the dm cost to protect their planets, using the merchant wont be too far off their agenda either
  33. gameforge wins, it sells more dm, keeps more active players on its servers, and the players win because noobs stay around longer, more chance they will join another new uni and so on and so on, the effect could snowball and create really buzzing friendly servers with lots of players
