- FreeFor .iso - 2012-01-31
- http://piratepad.net/LPFOWY0AjV
- ------------
- We are making available a CD image that has several modifications for the absolute beginner:
- * On boot, the FreeFor main page is opened in the browser
- * A desktop shortcut linked directly to FreeFor
- * pidgin-otr (chat) configured to go directly to FreeFor
- The intent is for readers of this document to distribute the finished product to groups of technologically unsophisticated users rather than a single CD for personal use, as these modifications are purely cosmetic and the download can take several hours.
- = Downloading =
- Downloading, verifying, and burning the FreeFor customized version of TAILS
- ''We still need procedures / recommendations for burning on Mac/Linux''
- == Downloading ==

- This will provide access to .onion sites.
- 1. Using TBB, install [[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/downthemall/|DownThemAll!]] - ''if you have problems installing, try downloading the .xpi file and opening it with TBB''
- This is needed as a complete download will take several hours, and an interrupted download without a download manager is a '''BROKEN''' download

- Under the section labelled MD5, with the .iso filename on the right.
- 1. Paste the MD5 sum from the sums.asc file to the "Checksum (Hash)" box in the download dialogue
- 1. Click "Start!"
- [optional - verify that you can stop and start the download]
- 1. Allow the download to progress for a bit, note the value in the "Size" column
- 1. In the manager window, select the .iso and right-click
- 1. Select Pause
- 1. In the manager window, select the .iso and right-click
- 1. Select Resume
- 1. "Size" column should continue from where it was paused, rather than restarting
