It's been only a few days since she's been able to cast the spell, but it has been a long time since she's been experimenting on manipulating negative energy in this fashion. During this period of time, she's engaged in the study of negative energy as a supportive force for all unlife. In her journal, she wrote in inked blood “The metamorphosis is infused and sustained by stored, manipulated and the negative energy plane, which serves as a conduit.”
A journal entry marked after this indicated what she believed the negative energy's role in sustaining was; “The Negative Energy Plane is a vacant void of a place that’s very existence provides a constant pulsating discomfort for mortal that counteracts with the fabrics between planes. Through my experimentation I have found a large siphon of stored energies in Endir's Point, by the Shadowplane. It must remain true that the more undead that exist on the Material plane, that the weaker all mortal beings are, even if unnoticeable. It can be noted that through necromancy and aid, the tethering bonds in which undead draw life force from others can be systemically enhanced to both benefit the undead and hurt the living being. This is what a book I read referred to as “reversing the positive flow of energy.”
As most all undead known in existence are believed to have a strong tie to the negative energy plane, Audrey's transformation put her in a bit of an awkward situation, having that link be temporary. Since the majority of her spells are based on the manipulation in mass of negative energy as well, and her deity has allowed her use of the shadow weave, she's tapping into a powerful source that would only amplify slightly upon the residual effects of her person of the constant exposure, much like can be explained with a Dark Surge (which is when an undead's negative energy tether becomes too strong it becomes unstable).
Not too long after Audrey's experimentation with her new spell she found that her bond to the negative energy plane was unexpectedly persistent upon her person. Her eyes were drained of their natural pale blue irises and replaced with the dull red glow that she had endured as her transformed self. This bleed over seems to be only one of a few changes to her habits, appearance, and personality. However, it might blur the lines of life and death to someone who doesn't actively know any better.
Now.. the ability to be in between these two existences has raised a lot of questions in her mind, as well as tested her mortality. Her other features that seem different include her hands. They seem to shake without cause or reason in her less than human state. Her eyes look as if they have been unable to get proper rest for many days. Occasionally, she bites her lip and finds herself idly sucking her own blood from the minor cuts. All of these mannerisms and deprivations of natural healthy activities are indicative of a spiraling downward spiral for her physical well being. Additionally, whilst a human she seems to suffer a withdrawl for strength. Her already flat and skinny arms almost feel like moving them in a strenuous way is producing of a jolt of odd pain that might be a cause of the taint of negative energy.
After cheating death, her once moderately tanned skin paled into a vampiric white from the transformations and effects of the negative energy being gathered on her body and around the general area. She more or less concluded that the powers of her sorcery run deep within her and perhaps it was just for the best that things develop this way and not to alter these things. It's safe to assume that the ability to manipulate any dimple of negative energy seems constant with Audrey at this point.
The mortal side of Audrey has become famished, almost, as evidently with the increased time spent engulfed in the manipulated storm of negative energy has produced a ravenous desire for blood, naturally; and nothing else. Perhaps the blood carries over once the spell expires, but one can say that perhaps Audrey never had any consistent eating habits to begin with.
She has contracted a member of the Underport blacksmithing agents to construct a coffin that is constructed solely using the lead material with velvet violet interiors and her initials carved on the outside. Although she has not found a secretive place for this coffin, she believes that it might help with the apparent insomnia that she faces in these troubled times. Oddly enough, her facial features refuse to reflect the apparent fatigue, as the hardened skin has perhaps made it impossible for her eyes to develop their own features, so one can't truly guess just how many days or nights she has gone without rest.
Audrey's goals now are what most wise individuals might define as .. blind sighted or unrealistic. She uses the disguise of the vaunted to create a realistic reason for being, her experiments, and her position in Tarkuul. Though it is not entirely without intrigue or interest that she spends her time there, for the study of unlife is something that has obviously piqued her interest.
“Once an experiment, now a reunion with the souls passed, and a simple ecstasy without the guilty human heart, where desire and the conflicting perils of morals are simply cast aside and the only thing that ever mattered is taken at full value. The goals I have sought before....” She tailed off in her journal. Apparently leaving even her fate up to the spindles of time.
OOC: I think mainly in the purpose of metagaming, since this change would allow me to effective refrain from changing my entire skin, I would be alot less prone to be metagaming whether Audrey is a vampire or not.
Thanks!
