- Q - What is the meaning of this?
- A - This is a Paras% speedrun where my goal is to catch Paras as early as possible (Mt. Moon), then complete the game as quickly as possible using Paras as my main Pokemon.
- Q - But Paras is a terrible Pokemon...?
- A - Not only is Paras adorable, it has access to a godly moveset including Dig, Body Slam, Swords Dance, and of course its signature move, Spore.
- Q - What are good stats for Paras?
- A - Maximum stats at level 12 are 34 HP, 25 Attack, 21 Defense, 14 Speed, and 21 Special. Attack and Defense are the most important in this run.
- Q - Why don't you catch the level 10 Paras?
- A - Mt. Moon is already extremely difficult at level 12 knowing only Scratch. A level 10 would require too much extra training, but I will try to catch one to learn Cut.
- Q - Why don't you fight the Hiker in Mt. Moon with Squirtle to train Paras?
- A - I don't want any of my other Pokemon to gain experience, so I won't use them unless a required fight is impossible with Paras. There is only one such fight in the run.
- Q - Why do you leave Mt. Moon halfway?
- A - Scratch has only 35 PP and we have to use most of that to train up to level 16 to make the two required fights in Mt. Moon possible.
- Q - What are the hardest fights in the run?
- A - Everything in Mt Moon, several fights on Nugget Bridge, Goldeen trainer in Misty's gym, Silph Rival, Koga's gym trainers, Sabrina, Viridian Rival, Lorelei, Lance, and Champion.
- Q - What other Pokemon are used in the run?
- A - Squirtle is used until Mt. Moon since it's the only starter that can easily beat Brock at a low level, and it can learn Surf and Strength. I also catch a Pidgey or Spearow for Fly and a second Paras or an Oddish for Cut.
