  1. 6:57 PM - BasherCreator: A true dictionary definition of the word "god" would be a figure of power and abilities. A all-knowing voice of morality and reason. Not some intangible figure that left it's word in a book to rot over the expansively changing generations. He would step out of fairy tale land and lay down the law. He would obliterate the face of evil and reward acts of kindness. Not leave a pile of text on mortal paper that will be misunderstood, translated incorrectly, and cryptic to the point where if you believed in it, you'd be FORCED to call the horrific stuff inside a mere "analogy".
  2. 6:57 PM - BasherCreator: Fuck god.
  3. 6:57 PM - BasherCreator: And that Jesus faggot too.
  4. 6:57 PM - Alistair Emerald: lol
  5. 6:57 PM - Alistair Emerald: The Jewish hippy wizard
  6. 6:58 PM - BasherCreator: That guy is so lucky I didn't rip him apart then and there.
  7. 6:58 PM - BasherCreator: If he was anything short of family I'd have turned his whole world upside down.
  8. 6:58 PM - BasherCreator: With a nicely sealed package of logic bombs.
  9. 6:58 PM - BasherCreator: *pee-keeeew"
  10. 6:59 PM - Alistair Emerald: Religion is nothing but trouble.
  11. 6:59 PM - BasherCreator: My mom would argue with that.
  12. 6:59 PM - Alistair Emerald: It is a lie invented to control stupid people.
  13. 6:59 PM - BasherCreator: "RELIGION BEGETS GOODNESS BLAH BLAH BLAH" although she wouldn't use such a sophisticated word as "beget"
  14. 6:59 PM - BasherCreator: ^
  15. 7:00 PM - BasherCreator: Religion begets fear. Fear begets will. Will can lead to good deeds. That's how it works.
  16. 7:00 PM - BasherCreator: Anything outside the realms of secularity is nothing but an act of fear.
  17. 7:00 PM - Alistair Emerald: Yeah. I don't know if doing a nice thing because you're scared really counts...
  18. 7:01 PM - BasherCreator: You're doing nice things because you think your god wants you too. That's not integrity, that's a mafia boss.
  19. 7:01 PM - Alistair Emerald: lol
  20. 7:01 PM - Alistair Emerald: Well said.
  21. 7:02 PM - BasherCreator: You have a gun held up to your head. If you choose to believe what the wielder says, you're free. If you choose not to, he blows your brains out. The wielder tells you to help an old grandmother off the street. You do it. Was that a good deed?
  22. 7:02 PM - BasherCreator: Perhaps
  23. 7:02 PM - BasherCreator: Is it integrity?
  24. 7:02 PM - BasherCreator: Far from it.
  25. 7:02 PM - Alistair Emerald: Absolutely not.
  26. 7:05 PM - BasherCreator: This is a good analogy to use to describe religion, because religion is nothing but a threat. You can either become a mindless sicavant to an idea or you can think rationally and carefully. One road leads you down a life of fear, a life of self-hatred. A skewed vision on the properties of morality and righteousness. You live everyday serving an invisible throne someone TOLD you was there. I don't know about you but I'd rather not live a life full of obedience and fear.
  27. 7:07 PM - BasherCreator: The other leads you to a road of freedom. A road of decisions and moral dilemmas. A life where you can choose to love who you want freely and eat whatever foods you are hungry for. It allows you to create your own boundaries of morality instead of pretend to uphold someone elses. You can be the best person you want to be, not hide underneath a blanket of deciet because one day when you were a moldable blob of a human, someone took out a chunk of rational play-doh and filled it in with religious gunk.
  28. 7:08 PM - Alistair Emerald: Religion is not free will.
  29. 7:08 PM - Alistair Emerald: It is slavery in a way.
  30. 7:09 PM - BasherCreator: When a religious person's child is unruly, do they lock them up in the basement and torture them? When a religious person dates a non-religious person, does that religious person really believe in their heart that their partner is doomed to an eternal hell? No, of course not, because they aren't actually really apart of that religion. They just say they are and think they are.
  31. 7:12 PM - BasherCreator: How the hell can anybody have faith when you can't even abide to the laws set down by the very ideology you have faith in? At that point you're in your own little fine tuned box of the ideas and notions you decided to pick and choose which were not moral. How can someone say "Well... I'm not really religious, but I'm pretty much exactly like Christians... I just think that a few of the things in the bible are wrong." The answer? They don't. They decide to add 30 different ifs, ands, buts, and maybes so that they can have endless modifiers to support their decision. If these people could just suck it up and say these 3 little magical words more often. "I don't know."
  32. 7:13 PM - BasherCreator: Wow, this was a lot I held back from that guy.
  33. 7:13 PM - BasherCreator: He would have had no legs to stand on after this little spiel.
  34. 7:13 PM - BasherCreator: spiele*
  35. 7:14 PM - BasherCreator: spiel*
  36. 7:14 PM - Alistair Emerald: It's probably best you didn't tell him that.
  37. 7:14 PM - BasherCreator: Attacking religion is so fun. There's just a goldmine of stupidity to pick at.
  38. 7:14 PM - Alistair Emerald: It's pretty easy actually.
  39. 7:15 PM - Alistair Emerald: It's not even fair to the religious people.
  40. 7:16 PM - BasherCreator: This is one resource I hope crashes. Eventually there will be more miners than gold. But as it stands, there's 2 kinds of people. Those with open eyes and those with shut eyes. The people who have their eyes shut of course never notice all that gold standing around, and those who have their eyes open wish to steal the gold-- fuck it can't think of anything. RELIGIOUS PEOPLE ARE DUMB.
  41. 7:17 PM - Alistair Emerald: It is a sad reality that the majority of people are dumb.
  42. 7:19 PM - Alistair Emerald: In a perfect world religion wouldn't exist.
  43. 7:19 PM - BasherCreator: To accept religion is to deny science. That, if anything, is a good definition of stupid.
  44. 7:19 PM - Alistair Emerald: But these pathetic creatures called humans need something to cling to.
  45. 7:19 PM - BasherCreator: To deny science, or even worse, deny scientific fact... Is to err.
  46. 7:19 PM - Alistair Emerald: A higher power to give their miserable existences meaning.
  47. 7:20 PM - BasherCreator: Or as some people would put it more bluntly, to be a mindless meat bag.
  48. 7:20 PM - BasherCreator: You're right.
  49. 7:21 PM - BasherCreator: It's just too easy to accept religion. The brain blocks out the thought of death, but when specifically thought about, calm are those who are duped into the impossible.
  50. 7:21 PM - BasherCreator: While the rest of us are worried about interstellar travel and the future of mankind, these heathens are sitting around playing a abstract game of tug-a-war, and human intelligence is the rope.
  51. 7:22 PM - BasherCreator: I like how I left that conversation off. With that guy, remember? Basically it ended up as "Well, it may not be true, but what's the harm in believing?"
  52. 7:22 PM - Alistair Emerald: Yeah
  53. 7:23 PM - BasherCreator: I wanted to leave it on the most debatable statement. A kudos to my willpower.
  54. 7:23 PM - BasherCreator: I could have ripped. That. Apart.
  55. 7:23 PM - Alistair Emerald: And how come the world's smartest people are all atheists?
  56. 7:23 PM - Alistair Emerald: Ask them that.
  57. 7:23 PM - Alistair Emerald: It's always been that way.
  58. 7:23 PM - Alistair Emerald: All the way back to Plato.
  59. 7:24 PM - BasherCreator: Oh you mean those unfathomably intelligent giants on whose shoulders we stand on?
  60. 7:24 PM - BasherCreator: I wonder why is that.
  61. 7:24 PM - Alistair Emerald: He was brilliant and an atheist and he was executed because of that.
  62. 7:25 PM - BasherCreator: Those few genius' whom the goodness of every other humans life pivots on? Those people were athiest? Noooo... No way!! Say what? Really? N-... Nooo!!!
  63. 7:25 PM - BasherCreator: No way!!
  64. 7:25 PM - Alistair Emerald: Don't tell god that *holds back tears of laughter*
  65. 7:27 PM - Alistair Emerald: I'm glad I met you. Whenever I talk like this to anyone else they think I'm some kind of asshole.
  66. 7:35 PM - BasherCreator: What does religion change on the face of the earth? Are we really all insignificant ants on a ever moving desolate boulder? That sort of decision is in the eyes of the beholder. Whether or not you choose to believe a certain ideology, it's effects on the world are long-standing and ripple throughout human history. There are people brainwashing their children to believe assinine ideas. There are orginizations in the world boycotting the service of veterans, religious sicavants standing outside memorials and weddings with their shining messages of hate and fear. Just wanting to believe in god because it makes you feel better is completely fine, but letting your own personal fantasy effect your decisions in life is absolutely wrong. Unfortunatley it's not as simple as believing in god just because you NEED something to believe in. Despite the fact that it gives some uncertain souls closure, it doesn't get rid of the overwhelming community of bashful and irrational minds effecting our race as a whole.
  67. 7:38 PM - Alistair Emerald: Yeah
  68. 7:38 PM - Alistair Emerald: Most wars and atrocities are because of religion.
  69. 7:39 PM - Alistair Emerald: That's why I refuse to respect people's religion
  70. 7:39 PM - Alistair Emerald: If they could just MIND THEIR OWN FUCKING BUSINESS then I couldn't care less what silly things they believed in.
  71. 7:41 PM - BasherCreator: The thought that you won't make a difference in the world is a demonstably false statement and a dark one at that. Many people have effected the world and everybody else was in the perfect places for them to do so. It's a dark fantasy to think that you are anything but significant. In a way, you're the universe experiencing itself, and that matters. There are extremely rare cases in which a species is able to make moral and personal decisions and effect their own solar system and that of others. Nothing is insignificant when you're experiencing it as surreal as a human does. A single human life can achieve a miraculous feat through the sheerest accident of possibility. A single human life could mean the difference between interstellar travel and the downfall of the earth. It matters not how "significant" you are, it matters what is judging you. If there was a type 3 civilization that were just gigantic ants, and knew that you enjoyed killing ants, you'd be obliterated immedietley. Does this mean you were insignificant? Absolutely not, it was a trick of fate and nothing else. Significant is a human word and doesn't actually have any bearings on reality.
