  1. Hi <name>,
  2.
  3. Jeva told me the song, and I've been working on it. I've already figured out the first section (the main riff, basically) and the verses are based off of that so it's already sort of figured out. The other riff of the song, the instrumental part before the verse and after the actual intro, I've almost completely figured out, but I'm having a little troubled determining the chords.

  5. However, I don't really honestly know what you want? I mean I've figured the song out, and I assume you want to know how to play it too. But what type of transcription do you want? If you want tabs, you're out of luck. I don't play guitar, and I'm not sure how to write tabs for guitar. I could give you chords, but that doesn't fully communicate the song. I could try to write it out on sheet music, but I don't have a real sheet music transcriber, and my handwriting is far from perfect. Also, it'd take a lot of time, and you wouldn't get the finished product well before I already had the song down by heart.
  6. I hope this doesn't mean you wouldn't get what you wanted. You already made me cookies, so I would feel really guilty not giving you back whatever you actually wanted.

  8. Anyway, here's part of what I've gotten so far, written to be understood by most musicians, though probably not well enough. Reading over it, it seems a bit messy. I can reword it in any way that you want, and you'll obviously need to ask questions.

  10. INTRO (main riff)
  11. For the record, I am working off of KEXP's live version of Ruminant Band. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKAg9IbaaRY)
  12. The chords at the beginning of the song are all played over a D drone. The dude with the acoustic guitar is just playing a D on his Rhodes piano on the beat.
  13. However, the guitars are playing something that would be more like a D6 > C6 and then C D C D
  14. If you were to play with with more than one person, you would have the bassist playing just a D every beat with the guitars playing Bm > Am in place of D6 > C6, and then C D C D.
  15. The little lick that they sometimes play at the end of each riff goes D E F# G F#.

  17. Also, thank you so much for the cookies. That was very nice of you, and more made up for the "debt" you apparently owed me.
