  1. lentil soup recipe, basic version for about 2 portions:
  2. 1 can of lentils (500grams/~1pound), 1 onion, a little bit of oil, 3 tblsp of flour, seasoning
  3.  
  4. add the lentils into a pot and add enough water so they are covered in it. needs more water if you are using dry lentils, you could also soak them first, or just let them cook for longer. until they are big and juicy. set it to cook on a low flame, add your seasonings- anything you like, garlic powder, oregano, salt, pepper, the world is your oyster.
  5. while this is happening, cut up your onion into thin pieces, and then fry it in some oil. not too much oil. as it's frying and gaining some colour, slowly add the flour evenly all over the onions, once there is a layer, stir the onions so they flour soaks up the oil, then add another layer etc. the slower you do this the better.
  6. once your lentils have soaked up most of the water, slowly add your onions into the soup. stir well, cook on a low flame a little bit longer until the consistency is how you prefer it. you can leave it a bit soupier with lots of water, or let it get more like a stew. all up to you and your pet oyster.

  8. now additional bonus versions of the soup unlocked because of your pet oyster:

  10. - you can cut up a sausage or fake meat sausage into bits and add that before you add the onions.
  11. - or you can cut up bell peppers, add them to the onions and fry that together, rest of the steps are the same.
  12. - you can add paprika powder to the onions as they are frying, rest of the steps are the same.

  16. I like to have the basic version with fresh bread and I chomp on green onions as I eat it. Try it at least once if you're confused by this. Enjoy.
