  6. [2017-03-04 22:06:44] <GD_CJ> SUMMARY: The Tempest remains locked down, and all personnel are now confined to quarters following an altercation between Commander Derringer and Lieutenant Cleveland. A detachment of security personnel have secured the ship, and representatives from the JAG officer are conducting interviews.
  7. [2017-03-04 22:07:20] <GD_CJ> SUMMARY: Meanwhile, Commander Derringer recovers in Sickbay after being shot by Temporal Affairs agent Jonson.

  30. [2017-03-04 22:15:38] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> <Jonson> Already told ya, Chief. But don't worry. When the suits get around to me I'll have plenty to say.

  42. [2017-03-04 22:20:26] <GD_CJ> <Traeg> ::waddles to a nearby chair and climbs into it:: CTO: For starters, tell me about Captain Savage.
  43. [2017-03-04 22:22:04] <INH> Traeg: Sure. He's a good man. The whole "jumping forward in time and losing everyone he loved" thing hit him pretty hard, but I've never gotten the impression he's ever done anything that he didn't think would benefit Starfleet. He's boring that way.
  44. [2017-03-04 22:23:20] <GD_CJ> <Traeg> CTO: And you would say he's an effective CO?
  45. [2017-03-04 22:23:53] <Trost> 13::speaks quietly with the movie feeling her mind wander as she relaxes:: I had rather hear my dog bark at a crow than a man swear he loves me. A great happiness to all me else they would get a predetermined scratched face. Scratching could not make such a face as yours Senior Benedict
  46. [2017-03-04 22:25:09] <INH> Traeg: I would. But, to be fair, I think he could've handled the situation with Sully better. Captain Savage is loyal. He wants to see the best in his crew. Sully took advantage of that. I wouldn't blame the CO for what occurred.
  47. [2017-03-04 22:25:16] <GD_CJ> <Jonson> XO: Would you answer a personal query, then?
  48. [2017-03-04 22:25:36] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> <Jonson> Shoot. I mean, you know, figuratively.
  49. [2017-03-04 22:25:54] <GD_CJ> <Traeg> CTO: Let me guess - you'd assign all the blame to Commander Derringer.
  50. [2017-03-04 22:26:13] <GD_CJ> <Jonson> XO: Were you going to shoot yourself, or Johnny?
  51. [2017-03-04 22:26:26] <GD_CJ> <Johnny = Mr. Cleveland>
  52. [2017-03-04 22:26:39] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> <Jonson> Definitely wasn't going to shoot myself. Probably wouldn't have shot Johnny.
  53. [2017-03-04 22:27:09] <GD_CJ> <Jonson> XO: Then what were you planning to do with it?
  54. [2017-03-04 22:27:42] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> <Jonson> Dunno, it just felt better having it, you know?
  55. [2017-03-04 22:27:51] <INH> Traeg: Well, I'd actually give myself a little blame. After all, I fell for Sully's deceptions, and I let him get into a situation where he could fire on me or any other member of the crew. I blame myself for that. Everything else, I'd lay at Mr. Derringer's doorstep.
  56. [2017-03-04 22:28:47] <GD_CJ> <Traeg> ::reads through a few notes:: CTO: Why did you disobey Commander Derringer's orders when investigating the anomaly surrounding the Paris?
  57. [2017-03-04 22:29:47] <GD_CJ> <Jonson> ::chuckles a bit more:: XO: Did you always have this tendency to rub people the wrong way, or is that a recent development?
  58. [2017-03-04 22:30:37] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> <Jonson> Honestly I thought I was a pretty personable guy. I get on with most everyone. Cleveland's the one with the issue. And I guess now Cap.
  59. [2017-03-04 22:31:13] <INH> Traeg: Frankly, we had a disagreement. He let me almost die in a quicksand pit, which didn't mutually endear us to each other. And I thought he was acting off, in a suspicious manner. There was stuff that he wasn't telling us, and I didn't want to go along with the mysterious plans of someone who clearly didn't value my life.
  60. [2017-03-04 22:31:18] <CMOLtCmdrKestran> 10:: wonders how long it will be before she gets her Starfleet assigned Counselor to decide she is psychologically fit for duty still ::
  61. [2017-03-04 22:31:28] <Trost> 13::sips and nibbles and mumbles:: one woman is fine, yet I am well. Another virtutious yet I am well, Another wise, yet I am well. Till all these graces come in one woman. One woman shall not come into my grace. Ritch she shall be...that is certian. ::feels all the noise tune out all the head voices start to quiet::
  62. [2017-03-04 22:32:56] <GD_CJ> <Traeg> ::jots down a few notes:: This all occurred during the same away mission?
  63. [2017-03-04 22:33:23] <GD_CJ> <Jonson> XO: Why do you think Mr. Cleveland has that issue?
  64. [2017-03-04 22:33:58] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> <Jonson> Are we on record?
  65. [2017-03-04 22:34:16] <GD_CJ> <Jonson> XO: We are not.
  66. [2017-03-04 22:34:17] <INH> Traeg: Yep. It was an exciting excursion. Ask Eldrida Trost or Elianna Kestran about the quicksand, they'll back me up. Hell, Trost tried to let me suffocate as well. They're both lucky I didn't press charges.
  67. [2017-03-04 22:35:04] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> <Jonson> Cleveland's a headcase. Total lunatic. Completely insane.
  68. [2017-03-04 22:35:26] <GD_CJ> <Traeg> CTO: Did you have any issues with Commander Derringer prior to this away mission?
  69. [2017-03-04 22:35:44] <GD_CJ> <Jonson> XO: That's it? He's just a nutball?
  70. [2017-03-04 22:37:00] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> <Jonson> You got it in one, chief.
  71. [2017-03-04 22:37:07] <INH> Traeg: We didn't really get along, but nothing serious happened between us. Mainly I was just disturbed by his solely liquid diet. You know, the man doesn't eat solid food. And he's probably trying to paint me as the crazy one.
  72. [2017-03-04 22:37:33] <CMOLtCmdrKestran> 10:: sits forward, remembering a small detail of her dream she didn't at first recall, her brow furrowed as she considers it :: That's odd.
  73. [2017-03-04 22:37:43] <GD_CJ> <Jonson> XO: You'd think a psych eval would have caught that.
  74. [2017-03-04 22:38:13] <GD_CJ> <Traeg> CTO: I see. Is there anything else you think I should know?
  75. [2017-03-04 22:38:39] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> <Jonson> I'm just waiting for the JAG to come get my side of things for once. This whole endless loop of interrogation is starting to wear me down a bit. Don't worry I'll leave out the part where you shot me
  76. [2017-03-04 22:40:12] <GD_CJ> <Jonson> XO: How benevolent. Very well; I'll see about diverting someone to Sickbay.
  77. [2017-03-04 22:40:36] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> <Jonson> Not that you're not great company.
  78. [2017-03-04 22:41:15] <GD_CJ> <Jonson> XO: You should see me play Domjot. ::strides calmly out of Sickbay::
  79. [2017-03-04 22:41:26] <INH> Traeg: Not really. Except...at this point, I just want Sully to be honest. I want him to actually come clean instead of repeating the same BS over and over again. I realize I acted...aggressively. Overly so. But Sully knows something. About what sent us forward in time. And I don't see how he can justify keeping it from a crew full of desperate people.
  80. [2017-03-04 22:42:28] <GD_CJ> <Traeg> ::writes that all down and nods:: CTO: Thank you Mr. Cleveland. We should have our interviews done in a couple of hours, at which point we'll update you with how we plan to proceed.
  81. [2017-03-04 22:43:12] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> ::Finds a rubber ball and starts to toss it in the air repeatedly::
  82. [2017-03-04 22:44:20] <GD_CJ> <N'Pral> ::a slender Vulcan woman enters Sickbay and approaches Sully's biobed:: XO: Mr. Derringer. I am Commander N'Pral, from the Judge Advocate General's office.
  83. [2017-03-04 22:44:21] <INH> Traeg: Sounds good. I'll be here.
  84. [2017-03-04 22:44:47] <GD_CJ> <Traeg> :: slips off the chair and waddles out::
  85. [2017-03-04 22:44:57] <Trost> 13::mumbles:: Wise, or I'll have none, Virtious I shall never cheapen her, Comly....Or come not near me. Of good discourse and excellent musician and her hair should be......what ever please god. Oh look! Here comes the Count and Monsious Loooove. I shall hid thee.::feels everything excepting the play turn off::
  86. [2017-03-04 22:45:12] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> <N'Pral> Cool. I imagine you have a great deal of questions, so just fire 'em off.
  87. [2017-03-04 22:46:24] <INH> :: returns to pacing::
  88. [2017-03-04 22:46:47] <GD_CJ> <N'Pral> ::Briefly reads over some notes:: XO: Tell me about Captain Savage. What is your opinion of him?
  89. [2017-03-04 22:47:06] <GD_CJ> <Traeg>::reaches Dr. Kestran's quarters a short while later and rings the chime::
  90. [2017-03-04 22:47:33] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> <N'Pral> He's a good enough Captain. Recently he's fallen a little hard for a conspiracy theory of Johnny's.
  91. [2017-03-04 22:47:45] <CMOLtCmdrKestran> 10:: lost in her own thoughts, jumps a bit :: Come in!
  92. [2017-03-04 22:48:20] <GD_CJ> <N'Pral> XO: Tell me about this conspiracy theory.
  93. [2017-03-04 22:48:49] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> <N'Pral> You'd have to ask him why he chose to ignore my repeated reports that Cleveland was insubordinate and a danger to the crew, but bought into Johnny's conspiracy almost instantly.
  94. [2017-03-04 22:48:53] <GD_CJ> <Traeg> ::waddles in:: CMO: Dr. Kestran, I'm Commander Traeg with the JAG office. I have a few questions for you.
  95. [2017-03-04 22:49:54] <CMOLtCmdrKestran> 10<Traeg> :: waves a hand idly toward a chair :: Very well.
  96. [2017-03-04 22:50:29] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> <N'Pral> Johnny's got it in his head I've got something to do with our time jump. Which I don't. We were sent into the future as a direct result of the explosion of the Paris's experimental engines. The unstable temporal energies propelled us into the future. It's been that simple.
  97. [2017-03-04 22:50:32] <GD_CJ> <Traeg> ::clambers into the indicated chair and glances at his notes:: CMO: Give me your opinion of Captain Savage.
  98. [2017-03-04 22:51:26] <GD_CJ> <N'Pral> XO: And how do you explain Dr. Kestran's discovery that indicated that the crew was in fact in stasis as opposed to experiencing a temporal anomaly?
  99. [2017-03-04 22:51:53] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> <N
  100. [2017-03-04 22:51:57] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> ((OOPS))
  101. [2017-03-04 22:52:17] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> <N'Pral> I can't explain that, which I assure you is the point.
  102. [2017-03-04 22:52:21] |<-- Trost has left irc.rizon.net (Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client)
  103. [2017-03-04 22:53:41] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> <N'Pral> If I had to hazard a guess, we experienced a similar effect as the crew I'd found on the bridge. They seemed to be trapped in the moment, which I guess is a sort of stasis. Close enough to produce stasis-like results on any scans.
  104. [2017-03-04 22:53:42] <CMOLtCmdrKestran> 10<Traeg> :: answers stiffly :: I have served with him for many years and I admire him greatly as a commander and trust him implicitly.
  105. [2017-03-04 22:54:16] <GD_CJ> <Traeg> ::nods:: CMO: And Commander Derringer?
  106. [2017-03-04 22:54:41] <GD_CJ> <N'Pral> XO: Would you care to hazard a guess as to why this also affected your ship?
  107. [2017-03-04 22:54:53] -->| Trost (cgiirc@Rizon-4FB4D254.ph.ph.cox.net) has joined #TrekBeyond
  108. [2017-03-04 22:55:25] <CMOLtCmdrKestran> 10<Traeg> Commander Derringer is a fairly untested First Officer, but I have seen no faults in him that I think would keep him from performing his duties. He is simply new to the position.
  109. [2017-03-04 22:55:51] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> <N'Pral> Again, I'm not exactly an expert in these fields but my assumption is the explosion that occured as a result of the engine failure produced an energy wave that was capable of affecting our ship.
  110. [2017-03-04 22:56:08] <GD_CJ> <Traeg> CMO: And finally Mr. Cleveland.
  111. [2017-03-04 22:57:15] <GD_CJ> <N'Pral> XO: And you explained all this to Captain Savage, and were not believed.
  112. [2017-03-04 22:58:22] <CMOLtCmdrKestran> 10<Traeg> Mr. Cleveland has difficulty trusting his fellow crew members and a tendency to disregard orders and protocol. I am concerned for his mental well being at the moment, but I am not a Counselor so I couldn't speak to his fitness for duty in any official capacity.
  113. [2017-03-04 22:58:46] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> <N'Pral> I wouldn't say that. I wasn't asked. Captain Savage accused me of hiding information.
  114. [2017-03-04 22:59:29] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> <N'Pral> Not directly, mind you, but he certainly seemed to imply I was being nefarious.
  115. [2017-03-04 22:59:52] <GD_CJ> <N'Pral> XO: You weren't 'asked?' This didn't come up in your offical report to the Captain?
  116. [2017-03-04 22:59:58] <GD_CJ> <Official>
  117. [2017-03-04 23:00:35] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> <N'Pral> The temporal event happened to all of us, the whole crew. There was no reason to ask me what the cause was to an event that I had no hand in.
  118. [2017-03-04 23:00:40] <GD_CJ> <Traeg> ::nods some:: CMO: I understand there was an incident on the away mission to the Paris involving quicksand.
  119. [2017-03-04 23:01:40] <CMOLtCmdrKestran> 10:: nods :: <Traeg> There was such an incident, yes
  120. [2017-03-04 23:01:56] <GD_CJ> <N'Pral> XO: So no official report regarding the away mission has been made?
  121. [2017-03-04 23:02:15] <GD_CJ> <Traeg> CMO: Can you tell me what happened, in your recollection?
  122. [2017-03-04 23:02:53] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> 7 <N'Pral> No, I made a report, it's just that report didn't include the cause of the temporal event, because that would be speculative.
  123. [2017-03-04 23:05:17] <CMOLtCmdrKestran> 10<Traeg> Johnny rushed ahead, despite being asked to stay with the group, as a result he landed himself in quicksand. I attempted to get him out right away, Trost came to my aid shortly after. We got him out.
  124. [2017-03-04 23:05:52] <GD_CJ> 13<Traeg> CMO: And what was Commander Derringer doing at this time?
  125. [2017-03-04 23:07:11] <GD_CJ> 13<N'Pral> XO: To your knowledge, was there any research into the Tempest's sensor logs of the event? Was there time to do so?
  126. [2017-03-04 23:07:27] <CMOLtCmdrKestran> 10<Traeg> I suppose you could say he was teaching him a lesson. Johnny wasn't in immediate mortal danger, so it seemed Commander Derringer was letting him sweat a little bit, so to speak.
  127. [2017-03-04 23:08:33] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> 7 N'Pral: You'd have to ask the Captain, or maybe Corky. I vaguely recall having scans that fit that description. In fact I think we compared the Pacifica readings to the Paris readings to make sure we weren't experiencing temporal aftershocks.
  128. [2017-03-04 23:09:45] <GD_CJ> 13<N'Pral> ::nods and makes a few notes:: XO: Is there anything else you think I should know, Commander?
  129. [2017-03-04 23:10:17] <GD_CJ> 13<Traeg> CMO: Was Commander Derringer doing anything unusual? Any odd behavior?
  130. [2017-03-04 23:11:25] <CMOLtCmdrKestran> 10Traeg: Not that I recall
  131. [2017-03-04 23:11:56] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> 7 N'Pral I just want a few things on the record. First, I'd be more than happy to submit to a psych evaluation from Councilor Trost in order to clear me for duty. I'd actually recommend that for everyone. And second, I made several reports t the Captain regarding Cleveland's insubordination and the danger it posed to the crew. The recklessness during the Paris mission is just one example....
  132. [2017-03-04 23:11:56] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> ...Again, he didn't act on that. Instead he chose to act on the paranoid delusion that I had some kind of secret goings on with the temporal event.
  133. [2017-03-04 23:12:50] <GD_CJ> 13<Traeg> ::nods and completes a few more notes:: CMO: Is there anything else you feel is pertinent? Anything I should know that I haven't asked about?
  134. [2017-03-04 23:13:27] <GD_CJ> 13<N'Pral> ::makes notes:: XO: Would you be willing to submit to a psychiatric evaluation from a different counselor?
  135. [2017-03-04 23:13:34] <CMOLtCmdrKestran> 10:: shakes her head :: Not that I am aware of
  136. [2017-03-04 23:13:51] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> 7 I'd prefer Councilor Trost, but I don't see why not.
  137. [2017-03-04 23:14:00] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> ((oops))
  138. [2017-03-04 23:14:10] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> 7 N'Pral: I'd prefer Councilor Trost, but I don't see why not.
  139. [2017-03-04 23:15:34] <GD_CJ> 13<N'Pral> XO: Counselor Trost may herself be suffering from the effects of losing two decades of time. We feel this necessarily compromises her for the time being. This is strictly a matter of protocol.
  140. [2017-03-04 23:16:18] <GD_CJ> 13<Traeg> CMO: Very well. Thank you for your time, Doctor. We should have the interviews done in an hour or so, and we'll update you all then.
  141. [2017-03-04 23:16:28] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> 7 N'Pral: I'd do anything at this point to get back on the job. So, OK.
  142. [2017-03-04 23:17:27] <GD_CJ> 13<N'Pral> XO: Your willingness is appreciated, and I have noted your concerns. They will be discussed. Is there anything else, Commander?
  143. [2017-03-04 23:17:35] <CMOLtCmdrKestran> 10Traeg: Thank you.
  144. [2017-03-04 23:18:46] <GD_CJ> 13<Traeg> ::nods and waddles out::
  145. [2017-03-04 23:19:19] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> 7 N'Pral: For the most part my crew are good people, that's all.
  146. [2017-03-04 23:20:39] <GD_CJ> 13<N'Pral> ::nods, and hesitates for a moment:: XO: I've been around a few crew who have dealt with temporal displacement. It has been my observation that they are singularly stressful situations. I believe that the situation here can be salvaged.
  147. [2017-03-04 23:21:11] <XO_Cmdr_Derringer> 7 N'Pral: Yeah I'm feeling pretty gosh darn stressed. But I hope you're right.
  148. [2017-03-04 23:22:07] <GD_CJ> 13<N'Pral> ::bows her head before turning to leave::
  149. [2017-03-04 23:23:03] <CMOLtCmdrKestran> 10:: heads over to her computer and calls up the logs from right after their mission with the Paris. ::
  150. [2017-03-04 23:26:46] <Corky> 12Trost *Are you there?*
  151. [2017-03-04 23:26:54] <Trost> 13<CMO> ~ am I crazy or does the phrase "You had fluffy, let me have this" Mean anything to you? I'm crazy right? ~
  152. [2017-03-04 23:27:48] <Trost> 13::taps:: Hey -how's your quarters Corky? It's nice to talk to someone. We all somehow forgot we were wearing badges. How can I help you?
  153. [2017-03-04 23:29:14] <Corky> 12Trost:*No, they restricted our access. Good thing I'm the CSO and am clever enough to circumvent the restriction*
  154. [2017-03-04 23:29:23] <CMOLtCmdrKestran> 10:: blinks :: ~CNS~ You're definitely not crazy.
  155. [2017-03-04 23:29:43] <Corky> 12Trost: *I'm OK. You?*
  156. [2017-03-04 23:31:02] <Trost> 13Corky*Well done!!!!!! I'm ok too. I am frustrated because I can hear things that I can't act on because I am trapped here. But I've learned to channel and block. So you know, it gets easier. I worry about Emily. Trapped here, no one's checked on her that I know of.
  157. [2017-03-04 23:31:24] <Trost> 13Corky - if there was some way I could get out long enough just to look in on her....
  158. [2017-03-04 23:32:57] <Corky> 12Trost: *I'm sure this will be sorted one way or the other fairly quickly and we can get on with our jobs. I can understand your concern about Emily.*
  159. [2017-03-04 23:33:46] <Corky> 12Trost: *I just hope that the Captain is OK. I think things have really gotten on top of him*
  160. [2017-03-04 23:34:07] <Trost> 13~CMO~ They will talk to me eventually. I will have to say something. And you and I both know that Sully and Johnny have their issues. I would love like 10 hours a week with both of them and then couple's counsiling tbh. But we aren't there yet. And I came in at the tail end of Fluffy. BTW - where is Fluffy - I haven't sensed him in forever. ~
  161. [2017-03-04 23:36:06] <Trost> 13Corky Yes. I worry about the Captain too. The night I cut off his coffee supply, I left him a little of what I fed him. I hope he found it and uses it to rest. We need him to be the best Captian ever. And he can't be that if he's not sleeping.
  162. [2017-03-04 23:37:08] <CMOLtCmdrKestran> 10CNS: ~Fluffy was gone when we lost a couple decades, I'm not really sure what happened to him.~
  163. [2017-03-04 23:39:54] <Trost> 13CMO: ~ So, You had fluffy let me have this - has even more weight since Johnny lost Fluffy. I mean, I know he wasn't completely sold on fluffy, but I get how it could be come a companion. I think maybe, MAYBE. The thing with them is Sully got "this' and Johnny lost FLUFFY. Johnny was always sketchy and worried about fluffy but his mind must seem so quiet now.
