  1. Any% Glitchless
  2. Q: Why do you keep resetting and changing the time?
  3. A: It's for the RNG manipulation. I need to hit a specific frame about 96 seconds after I start the game at 7:02 AM on 01/02/2099.
  4.
  5. When I hit the right frame I will get an ID number of 49741. From there, I manipulate RNG through specific movement to get a Mild Piplup with 24/27/28/29/23/29 IVs. If I mess up the movement, I lose the manip and will most likely reset. IDs for each frame:
  6.
  7. -3: 35215
  8. -2: 22359
  9. -1: 14722
  10. 0: 49741
  11. +1: 36073
  12. +2: 49448
  13. +3: 15265
  14.
  15. - is too early, + is too late.
  16.
  17. Q: Why set the time to 7:02 AM?
  18. A: A few things. Most notably, I can obtain Choice Specs in Celestic Town for Empoleon. You can only get Choice Specs in the morning.
  19.
  20. Q: Do you manipulate anything else?
  21. A: I also manipulate encounters. I make it so that I encounter a Kricketot holding a Metronome, Starly and Bidoof for HMs, and then an Onix in Oreburgh Mine for EXP. On top of that I also get Pokérus from the third trainer on Route 202. If I do it correctly, I won't get any other encounters than those four.
  22.
  23. Q: How long does the RNG manipulation last?
  24. A: Ideally, all the way to Oreburgh Mine. When I use an Escape Rope in the mine, it's over. But as long as I can keep it going to the end of Route 202 and get Pokérus, it's good enough for now. When my times get better, I will need to keep it until Oreburgh Mine. Optimally you manipulate RNG all the way to the third Gym.
  25.
  26. Q: Which Pokémon do you use?
  27. A: Piplup is the main Pokémon. Piplup is also used for Surf, Waterfall, Strength, and Rock Climb. Bidoof for Cut and Rock Smash. Starly for Fly.
  28.
  29. Q: What does Metronome do?
  30. A: It increases the power of a move you use by 10% each consecutive time you use it. For example, the third time it's used, its power is increased by 30%. This saves time early in the run, most notably on the second rival fight.
  31.
  32. Q: Why do you pick the girl?
  33. A: It saves time. Lucas talks less, so it saves frames on text (about 2 seconds overall).
  34.
  35. Q: Is Chimchar faster than Piplup?
  36. A: Best case, no. Chimchar is just more consistent, specifically in the beginning of the game. Empoleon is way better mid- and lategame.
  37.
  38. Q: What is WR?
  39. A: 3:38:51, by crafted (with Chimchar).

  42. Any% Glitchless Elite Four Round 2
  43.
  44. **Everything above applies to this category as well**
  45.
  46. Q: What does Round 2 entail?
  47. A: I set out to see every Pokémon in the Sinnoh Pokédex and unlock the National Pokédex. That allows me to go to Stark Mountain and do the side quest there. That will unlock the "Round 2" fights against the Elite Four and Cynthia. Essentially, they get stronger.
  48.
  49. Q: In what way do you see every Pokémon?
  50. A: In almost all cases I fight trainers. I do some extra battles against trainers you usually don't fight in the normal Any% Glitchless run. There are some exceptions, like Manaphy and Porygon.
