  1. >You are Anon.
  2. >You and Braeburn set down the huge barrel of cider you were carrying on the ground next to the snack table.
  3. "Alrighty then. That was the last one, right?"
  4. >"I think there was one more that Mac was gettin'."
  5. >You're about to turn back to help him, but he's already on his way over with it.
  6. >Those barrels are huge, and he's using his massive Hulk hands to carry it all by himself.
  7. >He sets it down with a grunt next to yours.
  8. "Last one?"
  9. >"Eeyup."
  10. "Thank God."
  11. >You wince as you stretch.
  12. >You feel your back pop I'm a few places.
  13. >Feels good, man.
  14. >You turn around to check out the backyard.
  15. >It looks kind of like a high school dance on the basketball court.
  16. >The heated pavement has melted away any of the snow that was present, and the lights surrounding the dance floor make it nice and warm. You feel totally fine.
  17. >You look back at the house to see more Apple family members inside.
  18. >"Looks like the rest of the family's here."
  19. >"Eeyup."
  20. >You look back at them as they start walking out the front gate.
  21. "Anything else we need?"
  22. >Mac looks back.
  23. >"Nnope. It's Applejack's shindig now."
  24. >Bitchin'.
  25. >You nod and turn around to head back inside.
  26. >Instead, you bump right into Applejack, literally knocking your heads together.
  27. >You fall back and grab your now throbbing head.
  28. "Ow! Dammit!"
  29. >"You okay Anon?! I'm so sorry, I didn't mean it!"
  30. >You open an eye to see Applejack rubbing her head and looking at you with a worried expression.
  31. >You stifle a chuckle and stand up.
  32. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a knock on the head."
  33. >You extend a hand to her.
  34. >She looks at it a moment and back up to you before taking it.
  35. >She stands up slowly and grins at you.
  36. >"Th- Thanks, Sugarcube..."
  37. >She stuttered.
  38. >Her cheeks are red.
  39. >...
  40. >She must be embarrassed.
  41.
  42. >You laugh and rub your head.
  43. "Don't worry, Applejack. Life wouldn't be life if we didn't get a bump on the head every so often."
  44. >She chuckles and sets her hands down to her sides.
  45. >"Yeah, I guess you're right."
  46. >She smiles and twists her leg around on her toes.
  47. "Well, I'm gonna, uh, go detox a bit. My back is killing me."
  48. >You turn back to the house.
  49. >"W- Wait! Anon!"
  50. >She grabs your hand, making you turn back to her.
  51. "Yeah?"
  52. >"Uh..."
  53. >She stands there for a moment like she's got something on her mind.
  54. >After a pause, she sighs and smiles.
  55. >"Jus' wanted to say thanks for helpin' get stuff ready. I really appreciate it. Really."
  56. >You grin and chuckle some more.
  57. "No problem, Applejack. That's what friends are for."
  58. >You wink at her and slide your hand out of hers.
  59. >You walk back to the house, groaning and popping your neck.
  60. >It makes a few good pops and you open the door to the kitchen.
  61. >The smell of turkey and various other foods hits you like a train.
  62. "Ho-lee crap. Granny Smith, you make 'em like no other. It smells fantastic in here."
  63. >Granny Smith turns to you and smiles.
  64. >"Well shucks, Anon! Ya know I didn't make it fer smellin'! I made it fer eatin'!"
  65. >You cock an eyebrow and move closer to the cut up turkey she's working on.
  66. "Well then in that case..."
  67. >You reach for the dark meat until she smacks your hand.
  68. >"Now don't y'all be gettin' a taste 'fore its been served, ya hear?!"
  69. >You playfully roll your eyes as you near the door.
  70. "Ugh, fiiiine. I'll just have to enjoy the SMELL of it..."
  71. >She laughs and smacks you in the back of the head.
  72. >You skip out of the kitchen, giggling like Ron Swanson.
  73. >Granny Smith is a silly old lady.
  74. >A bit strange and cooky, but it's nice to humor her antics every now and then.
  75. >She appreciates you having a little fun with her.
  76. >You take out your phone and text Rarity as you walk back to your room.
  77. <You guys having fun?>
  78.
  79. >You put it back in your pocket and enter your room.
  80. >You collapse on the bed and groan.
  81. >You roll over on your back and take a deep breath.
  82. >You sniff the air.
  83. "What's that smell?"
  84. >You sit up a bit and sniff some more.
  85. >You sniff the sheets and it dawns on you.
  86. "Oh right."
  87. >It's the smell of sex.
  88. >You giggle and your phone beeps.
  89. ><Yes we had fun!! :D She'll be back in a few minutes so just wait a bit loverboy ;3 hehe>
  90. >You chuckle.
  91. >Sunset must've told her all about this morning.
  92.
  93. ---
  94.
  95. "Thanks so much, Rarity! I had a great time!"
  96. >"Why of course, darling! That's what friends like myself are here for!"
  97. >You smile and give her a hug before waving goodbye and heading for the house.
  98. >You had a great time talking with Rarity.
  99. >It was great to get to know her and her friends a bit more.
  100. >As soon as the holidays were over, you'd have to hang out with them a lot more.
  101. >You step inside the house only to be greeted with the heavenly smell of all kinds of food.
  102. >You see Applejack sitting on the couch with her head lowered and her arms folded.
  103. >You immediately feel a little concerned for her. She looks sad.
  104. >You can only imagine what shes feeling right now.
  105. >You don't like her for it, but at the same time you feel bad for her.
  106. >You think it might be best to talk to Anon about this.
  107. >You step inside more and grin a little.
  108. "Uh, hi Applejack."
  109. >She doesn't move for a while.
  110. >"Hi Sunset..."
  111. >She didn't even look up at you.
  112. >Your grin fades and you slowly walk down the hall to you and Anon's room.
  113. >You rub your neck and open the door.
  114. >Anon is laying on the bed, looking exhausted.
  115. >He smiles up at you.
  116. >"Hey there, Sunny. How was your chat with Rarity?"
  117. >You grin at him and shut the door.
  118. "It was fun, Nonny. How was... um, lifting stuff?"
  119. >He chuckles.
  120. >"It was a time and a half."
  121. >You smile and sit down next to him, giving him a kiss.
  122. "Anon? Can we talk for a bit?"
  123. >He sits up a little.
  124. >"Sure. What's up?"
  125.
  126. >You rub your neck nervously and cross your legs.
  127. "Well, uh... You know Applejack?"
  128. >"I know of her."
  129. "Well, do you know of her feelings?"
  130. >He scrunched his eyes a bit.
  131. >"What?"
  132. >You sigh and shut your eyes.
  133. >Anon is so clueless.
  134. >Might as well come right out with it.
  135. "Applejack likes you."
  136. >He just blinks.
  137. >"...Say again?"
  138. >You clear your throat.
  139. "Applejack likes you. Like, she like-likes you."
  140. >You can see his mind working hard to try and process what you just said.
  141. >"She... Likes me?"
  142. >You nod.
  143. >"Like, as much as you like me?"
  144. >You grin.
  145. "Well of course not. No one likes you as much as I like you."
  146. >He breathes out a tiny chuckle.
  147. >Good job, Sunset. Break up the tension with a little laugh.
  148. >"Uh... Who... Who told you that?"
  149. "Rarity did. She said it was obvious from the way she behaves around you."
  150. >"Obvious..."
  151. >He breathes out and pauses for a long moment, visibly trying to think.
  152. >Then you see his eyes widen a bit.
  153.
  154. ---
  155.
  156. >Holy shit Anon, you're retarded.
  157. >How did you manage to get dressed by yourself all this time?
  158. >It was all so obvious.
  159. >The way she got all shy and awkward around you, they way her cheeks were always red when she looked at you, everything.
  160. >No one else acts like that.
  161.
  162. "Damn."
  163. >You give another chuckle and shake your head.
  164. "I'm so stupid..."
  165. >Sunset sets her hand on your leg and rubs a little.
  166. >"Anon..."
  167. "No, I am. It was right there in front of me. It has been for years, and I still didn't see it."
  168. >You think back through the years of growing up with her.
  169. >All those times you'd been around her and called her 'friend'.
  170. >You thought of her as a sister.
  171. >You'd been friendzoning her for years.
  172. >And this morning?
  173. "Oh no..."
  174. >She heard you and Sunset canoodling.
  175. >You groan and put your head in your hands.
  176. >You feel terrible.
  177. "Oh, Applejack..."
  178. >You stay silent as you try to come to terms with what you just heard.
  179. >Sunset sets a hand on your shoulder.
  180. >"Anon?"
  181. >You slowly look at her.
  182. >She looks worried.
  183. >You reach up to touch her hand.
  184. "I'm fine, Sunset. It's just-"
  185. >You sigh and shut your eyes.
  186. "She's my best friend... And to realize that I was causing her this much sadness over the years... It's gut wrenching..."
  187. >She doesn't move her hand from your shoulder.
  188. >You think for a bit and look at her again.
  189. "Don't worry. I love you, and only you."
  190. >She visibly relaxes and smiles a little.
  191. >"Okay, good. I was scared."
  192. "Don't be."
  193.
  194. >You smile at her.
  195. "Applejack is a friend. My bestest friend in the world. That's all I'll ever see her as."
  196. >You sigh again and lean over on her shoulder.
  197. "Which is why I have to fix this whole thing... Apparently, she's wanted to be more than a friend to me for a while... I kept on breaking her heart over and over again without knowing."
  198. >She softly rubs your head like a dog.
  199. >"You didn't mean to though."
  200. "I know... But I still did it..."
  201. >You both stay there together for a while, saying nothing to each other.
  202. >You have to talk to Applejack.
  203. >Just to get to where this whole thing started, and to figure out what to do.
  204. >She's way too important to you.
  205. >Her friendship, it's like...
  206. "Magic..."
  207. >Sunset stops rubbing your head.
  208. >"Hmm?"
  209. "Magic... My friendship with Applejack is like magic... I can't explain it any other way, but that's what it means to me... Her friendship is like magic to me."
  210. >Holy shit, that was lame.
  211. >There's a pause between you two before Sunset looks down at you.
  212. >"Go talk to her then."
  213. >You look back at her.
  214. "Now?"
  215. >She nods.
  216. >"Yes. Right now.... If you're being honest with me, then she shouldn't have to wait any longer for closure from you."
  217. >You stay silent.
  218. >"Friends like her don't come around too often. You can work through this with her together."
  219. "Yeah... You're right..."
  220. >She smiles.
  221. >"I've only seen a friendship like yours once before."
  222. >She looks away and mumbles under her breath.
  223. >"If only I'd paid more attention to her..."
  224. >You didn't catch that.
  225. "What?"
  226. >She shakes her head.
  227. >"Nevermind. Just go. Talk to her right now."
  228. >You nod and slowly sit up.
  229. "Okay... I will."
  230. >You hug Sunset tightly and smile.
  231. "Thank you, Sunset."
  232. >She hugs you back.
  233. >"You're welcome."
  234. >You release her and stand up.
  235. >You head out the door and make your way down the hall.
  236. "Here I come, Applejack..."
