Lingering Thread- The ballad of the lavender siren

A curious glance,
a peek from behind the crowds
What it is, I want to know.

An idle thought;
might as well join suit
the windows turn dark

lost between shouts and smiles
where even am I?
they seem nice though.

A yearning voice
a hopeful reply
together we make five.

I felt nothing
then I was awake.
life stolen
but understood anew in light.

Shards of yesterday
blown away
yet my brother's bones
still remain

One by one
they're disapearing
my team is gone?
where are they?

hanging threads
of bonds long rent
patched together hapahzard
each the other's lifeline.

pitch black fiend
it never ceases
the strifes drag on

the dark we must face
we somehow survive
the few remaining

so quiet it seems
will I be alone?

The hourglass turns
and with it, a month's toil.
and friendships forged

It never happened
they never died
neither did I
but why do the tears flow?
