Scarred from the time that its wielder spent as an Avatar of the Void, the blade retains an infinitesimal fragment of Oblivion within, a hungry vortex that would consume all that it touched, if given half a chance. As a miscellaneous action, the wielder of Shuren may pay <cost>, if she does, the normal golden glow of the blade inverts, becoming replaced by the sheerest darkness as the hunger of Oblivion comes to the forefront, annihilating all that it touches - even the wielder. While this effect remains, the blade’s normal phantom damage effect is suppressed, and it deals Aggravated damage, ignoring all soak from armor as it dissolves all that it touches away, leaving only the personal strength of the Chosen to be able to resist its touch. But this sheer power is not without cost - the corrosive power of the Void spares no one - and certainly not one that has spurned it once already. While it remains unleashed within the blade, the wielder suffers one unsoakable Aggravated level per action, which may not be healed while the blade remains in its unleashed form. Should the wielder die while utilizing this effect, she faces only utter Oblivion - there will be no lingering or rebirth for her.
